Hello, Since the update to Thunderbird Supernova from version 102 upwards, emails in several email folders are automatically deleted or hidden. The properties in the respective folders are listed under Retention rules: Do not delete messages.

The emails displayed in the folders no longer correspond to the contents in the folders. Example: A folder displays: 7, properties in the same folder displays: 1226 with 447 MB. It looks similar in the other folders.

How can I ensure that all available emails are displayed in Thunderbird again?

A repair with *.msf does not help.

Many thanks for your support. Erwin

Hello volunteers -- I downloaded Thunderbird to a newer iMac. The Input messages and folders from my laptop appeared fine, but the addresses look like they are from Contacts rather than the laptop Address Book, i.e., names, phone numbers and postal addresses, but not email addresses. The first image (screenshot from an Apple laptop) is what I want; the second is what I got on the iMac. Is someone able to help me with this? Thanks very much, Susan

The update to Thunderbird 115.0.1 broke the "Unified folders".

I have two eMail accounts: - the first on a custom server, I do not know its characteristics - the second is an Office365 institutional account

Only the account on the on the custom server is shown in the Unified Folders.

The second account is shown as a folder in the Unified Folders pane, at the same level as "Archives", "Junk" and "Deleted".

I have tested one solution reported to be working: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1003446

It does not work in my case.

Any help?

Thunderbird 115.0.1 display glitches

I always thought that some of the best advice is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This concerns aspects of 102.13.0 that worked fine, but are glitchy in 115.0.1.

I use Thunderbird to archive from Hotmail (Outlook), AOL, AT&T's Currently (a Yahoo front), and GMail. I am also having to abandon Hotmail (Outlook) because of the characteristic haphazard programming that Microsoft practices, so I have been moving folder contents, sometimes many messages, at a time.

I see that the visual indicators in 115.0.1 is glitchy. I just selected a brace of about 817 emails in a Hotmail folder to be moved to the locally stored Thunderbird folder. After having higlighted the range, when I drag to the Thunderbird folder, only one file shows as being moved, but it stays visible in the source window *and* displays a weak-flash around that one file in the source window.

If I look elsewhere, I can see indication that the files are being moved, but the quirky flashing really looks like there is some error.

When the files to be moved finally all disappear from the source window, I then get a notification that slides in from the top right, saying, "The operation on XXXX failed because there was" and this is the *next* problem, because (1) the window is too small to display the complete message, (2) it slides away much too quickly to be read at a normal pace, (3) there is no way to retrieve and read the complete message, and (4) the movement of emails HAS, in fact, been completed.

Hey Team,

This is a problem that I have seen a few times over the years but is causing me some real headaches at the moment for one specific customer who uses TB.

The computers in question are fully patched windows 10 with TB 115 installed.

When clicking on an email header / selecting an email from the message list, sometimes, a different email body is loaded into the message pane. Sometimes moving the message to a different folder seems to resolve the issue but I'm not sure that this works 100% of the time. We have also had instances where an email has been replied to but the wrong email body has been included in the reply (bit if a data security concern...)

I am assuming that somewhere along the lines the link between the downloaded headers and the message bodies is getting out of sync. My current "fix" is to remove the account, remove the data then add the account back. This seems to fix things but doesn't seem like the right way to do it.

Can anyone offer any advise on either;

  1. How to prevent this from happening in the first place
  2. More efficiently re-sync all of the headers to bodies (assuming that this is the issue)

Help and advice, greatly received.

I got a new laptop and wanted to set up Mozilla Thunderbird for an existing Gmail account. I tried several times, all failed, with a warning "unable to connect with server imap.gmail.com, may be userid and password are wrong". But I can logon to my Gmail account (with the same userid and password) on Firefox website and on my previous computer, so the id and password are correct). And I was able to set up another Gmail account on Thunderbird in this new laptop (so the version of Mozilla is not the culprit) with the same server settings (port for incoming and outgoing mails, authentication methods SL/TLS, O Auth2 etc). Will someone please help me?

Hi,

Due to AddOns-issues I always remained on 60.9.1 but wanted now to give 102.13.1 a try.

Everything seems to work (with all addons disabled) except the Program Exit.

With a copy of the same Profile (profile which contains many connections to imap and pop servers), terminating 60.9.1 was very fast, a matter of 1-2 seconds but terminating 102.13.1 takes 1-2 minutes.

When I look at System Explorer, after clicking Exit, not much seems to happen during those 1-2 minutes (till all processes are suddenly terminated). I also noticed that Thunderbird 60.9.1 did have 1 active process, Thunderbird 102.13.1 does have 4.

What is going on ? Or is this "normal" behaviour with those more recent releases ? Very annoying, so I'm switching back to 60.9.1 till I can solve this

Thank you

Lately, I have been receiving error message "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing Server (SMTP) mail.iinet.net.au timed out. Try again." I have checked the settings and they are correct. The message will send using iinet webmail, but not with Thunderbird, so the problem appears to be with Thunderbird. These are usually emails with an attachment (even small). The sending of the email stalls aroung 35%, before the message appears. I am using version 102.13.0 (64 bit). I am using Windows 10 with ESET Security. Tried sending with without ESET protection which made no difference. Can you please help?
