I was using the tree style tabs add-on. Firefox popped up a message about a problem with that add-on, which I unfortunately clicked on, and all my tabs vanished. Now not only do I not have my tree-style tabs, Firefox will not create new tabs at all, and "restore session," or "restore all tabs" does nothing. FWIW, in safe mode, it will still give me standard abs at the top.

The Add-ons page offers me "find alternative add-ons," but will not download the alternative it offered me.

I've been a loyal Firefox user since the very first iteration of Firefox, but this has got me ready to bail and find another browser. Really pissed that it gave me no option to read up on what the problem was before killing all my tabs and refusing to allow me to even make new ones in the standard top tab mode without safe mode. I understand there being a problem with an add-on, but this sort of behavior is beyond the pale.

Anyone encountered this problem? Any solutions beyond changing browsers?

Now that you've elected BidenFox Android as your browser you will receive free tabs every day, all day. You get free tabs if you open a Bookmark and free tabs if you open Top Sites. And because you've upgraded without questioning our policies, we'll give you free tabs whenever you open anything in any Collection.

That's right, we've given you Collections! We want you to stop using those Trumpmarks, the trusted and private URL's you rely on throughout your day. We didn't spend anytime on making Trumpmarks more useful, like the ability to rearrange them in any order, something you've asked for year after year. So forget Trumpmarks and use Top Sites or Collections because you can never get enough free tabs.

And a bonus: If you have shortcuts on your phones Home Page, every one will open a new tab. More importantly, we now govern the behavior so it exits to Firefox, not back to your phones Home Page like past versions.

Thank you for electing BidenFox for Android as your browser. Only 4 more years until the next one.

I have open half a dozen or so tabs related to one subject. I would like to put them all into one "super tab", such that only the super tab shows as an open tab. Then, by clicking on that tab, it would show the tabs within it, any one or more of which could be selected. Is this possible, and if so how is it done? Perhaps there's an add-on or extension that would do this.

I have already created a multi-tab bookmark that sorta, maybe accomplishes the same thing. But it's not as convenient as what I envision as described above.

Thanks for any advice or words of wisdom.

Hi. I've been using Firefox for Mac for ages and when clicking on a link, it would open the page in a new tab.

However, since the last update (84.0.2 (64-bit)) when I click on a link it opens it in the same tab.

I've checked options in "preferences" and can't find any option other than "open links in tabs instead of new windows".

I have also gone into "about:config" and checked the "browser.link.open_newwindow" which is correctly marked 3 (tabs).

I've disabled all add-ons but this did not solve the problem. :(

I'd appreciate any help ;) Thanks

I often want to keep a tab open and go back to the search. It used to be that clicking on a search result opened a new tab,but now it replaces the search with that link so that I have to back out of it to get to the search and use history to see where I have been. This is a dealbreaker for me. There does not appear to be any way of restoring this behavior, even in about:config. Help

FF 78.0.1 Can't get tabs on bottom to work - despite fact that .css file is working on another computer

Hi all, I just got a new laptop and am trying to get FF the way I like it. This new laptop is W10, and the FF version is 78.0.1.

My old laptop (W7) also has FF 78.0.1.

I created a Chrome folder and a userChrome.css file in my new computer. I copied and pasted the "tabs on bottom" code I have been using on my W7 computer into the new file on my new computer and it is not working.

I have looked all over the web for several hours now and have tried several different versions of the code, tried turning the "legacy toolkit" line (in about:config) on and off and nothing has worked. I also can't find any information on why this code would work in W7 but not W10.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

When it became version 78.0.2, the menu to close the tab on the right side was gone and I was very confused. As a result, it was pushed into the submenu. I've been using Firefox because it has a menu to close the tab on the right, but if I can't immediately access this feature, I should consider switching browsers. Please move this menu from sub to main as soon as possible.
