I'm trying to set up Thunderbird to send messages via Google Mail.

When I send a message, it reaches Google (it's in the Google "Sent" folder), and is successfully forwarded on to the recipient. However, the Thunderbird "Sending Message" progress box never closes and only disappears when I press cancel. It is, I assume, waiting for an acknowledgement from Google that never comes. But how do I fix this? The messages are being sent but I have no way of knowing without logging on to GMail to see if it's in the sent folder.

I've been seeing a doubling of *some* incoming messages, where a duplicate message comes very soon after the first one. For example, two incoming messages were received at:

Sun, 07 Jun 2026 14:03:10 +0000

Sun, 07 Jun 2026 14:04:31 +0000

So the second message came in about 1 minute and 21 seconds after the first, and not because of anything I did (as far as I know). But then that was it, no third message came in.

This isn't really a bug, as nothing is harmed, just a repeated message. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have used Apple Mail, GMail and Outlook; i am hoping that Thunderbird will achieve (relative) zero inbox.

My objective is to create an inbox that observes established rules/filters and directs my emails into the appropriate folders. I was hoping that Thunderbird would achieve this objectives but I have so far been unsuccessful.

I would be happy to screenshare with an appropriate technician in order to resolve this issue as its becoming increasingly frustrating.

Hello. Some email addresses are no longer being delivered and are not appearing in my spam folder.

This started about three weeks ago with just one address. Now, I know of at least two.

Emails from these addresses that I used to receive and delete have also disappeared from my spam folder.

Does anyone have a solution?

Sending email gives the below error message. I can work around by using the FWD message selection.

Problem recently developed. So far on 2 different addresses but could be more. Additional info, hotmail and gmail accounts sending work OK; xplornet.com account is the problem interface but the C/Svc folks say it's a Thunderbird mail issue.

 So i downloaded TB it worked just fine until now. I can't send email anymore but i can receive them. When i try to send one, it says that there's an error with the server, it cab't connect anymore to the SMTP server. I tried to change the SMTP mail, to delete my account and reconnect. But nothing helps. What can I do? It's the only way for me to connect to my iCloud mail for now.

I have successfully set up 3 email accounts using my default domain. When I try to use an email account that uses a second domain I can't send or receive emails. This account required manual setup which I did but it does not work. My web hosting is with Namecheap and I do believe settings at that end are correct. Any help would be appreciated.

I set up a filter to move messages to the junk folder. If it's not from a .com, .net, or .org domain, move it. Here's how I set it up... If the "from" incoming message doesn't contain "any of the following" ".com" ".org" or ".net" move it to "junk". It moved .com and .org messages to junk anyway. What did I do wrong? There are too many TLDs to create a filter for all of them.

I can't locate the "delete from server" setting anywhere in the options. I received a spam message this morning that had a "Disposition-Notification-To" (aka Read Receipt) line that had MY email address on it. I honestly don't know why a spammer would do this - but that's not the issue. I have Read Receipts disabled, but Thunderbird generated an email (to me) and sent it to my mail host. This seems like a bug. Even if the Read Receipt has my email address on it (making it mostly harmless), Thunderbird shouldn't have generated the message. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

I have a desktop that is windows 10. I use Mozilla for four email accounts, 3 of my accounts work fine. My problem is with TWC. Emails sent/forward and cant save drafts often fail. When I sign into spectrum webmail, my Mozilla TWC account works again for a while. This started about 2 weeks ago. I'm using version firefox version 151.0.2. I've eliminated Spectrum as being the issue and all my settings are correct. Thoughts?
