I had to actually sign up fort a Mozilla account, the multiple hoops I had to jump through were ridicules, in order to ask a question of Firefox. I do not want my address bar to be my search engine. How do I disable the search engine in my address bar? And now I have to wait for an answer!!!!!!!! I used to love and trust Firefox. Not anymore.

This is the 3rd time I have had to post this. I am getting very frustrated. I DO NOT want the search engine within my address bar. Nothing anyone from you "community" helped to disable the search engine in my address bar. Opera, Edge, Chrome, the user can disable the search engine in the address bar. Why is Firefox so different? And difficult?

Since version 148.0b2 (64-bit), it's once again not possible to enter search terms in the search box of a new tab; instead, the browser searches in the address bar. I've had all the settings I found in the forums configured correctly for over five years, and they haven't changed. - browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = False. Despite this, the search still occurs in the address bar. Now I'm back to the awful search in the address bar. How can I fix this? Please fix this bug as soon as possible.

Bitte diesen Fehler (Bug) schnellst möglich beheben.

I've used Firefox for over twenty years, this annoyance will end that and force a move to Brave.

Hi All,

Just wondering what the roadmap is for multisearch functionality?

I might be a bit dim, but how do you actually search the support forums, as I suspect that this question has been asked before. There are no results returned for multisearch or RFC 7377 or ESEARCH.

Also is it possible to return search results as a vertical list instead of tiled responses, there's a reason why google doesn't do this.

Since December 2024 I've been unable to get current emails when I perform a search in Thunderbird. Often I search for emails from a particular sender. I know I've received something from that sender within a week or two. I'm frustrated to find the search function only returns email from many months ago, when I know for a fact I got an email from the particular sender 10 or even 2 days ago. The most recent emails are just not appearing in the search results. The problem started in the last week or two of December and has continued and compounded since. I had been hoping that it would clear itself up, but no amount of re-booting my computer or the program seem to be re-settting the archive that the search function looks through. I'm coming into the tax season and I really do need the search function to support me sift through and find the details I need from my clients. Help! Thank you! Jessica McKnight

Hi, I must have mis-filed an email. I can see it in the "All Mail" folder, but how do I find out in which folder I mistakenly put it?

- I've tried right-click, with no success - I've added 'location' to the list of columns displayed but they all show ..... dohhhh! .... "All Mail"

There must (mustn't there?) be a way of finding out where I put that dratted email!

I have been having a problem for weeks with Firefox where it keeps resetting my default search engine to Yahoo. I tried a lot of things, including looking through all my extensions for anything untoward and most recently refreshing Firefox. The problem remains active. I would really like to not have to keep resetting my search engine every day.

Post-refresh, I find that Firefox is opening new tabs from links on pages I visit. That one is a REAL pain to deal with. It seems to kick in more on commercial pages than other pages. How do I stop that one? I already appear to be clear of bad extensions and I already refreshed Firefox1
