My Samsung Moto G6 recently got a security update. I just happened to be looking at it when it completed and the phone started up and saw a notification display for less 1 second that said "firefox geolocation services".

At first I thought the setting in FF had been changed by some update as Android apps update constantly. When I looked, it was still off. I saw an extra button to "learn more". You click that and scroll down to the bottom of the page and find yet another link for "learn more about opting out". That leads you to yet another page "https://location.services.mozilla.com/optout "

(So apparently turning off geolocation only stops FF from sharing it with websites but doesn't stop them from gathering that data themselves and using it for whatever they want).

On that last page I was informed I had to append "-nomap" to my routers SSID to prevent Firefox from using my geolocation data. They claim that this is a "common" way to stop many apps from gathering and using geolocation data.

Appending -nomap to my routers SSID (Lynksys EA2700) causes the parental control feature to malfunction.

I have 2 devices setup to block internet access during specific times. Appending -nomap to my SSID caused those devices internet access to be always blocked.

I appended -nomap to my routers SSID on 01.16.20 and didn't have any problem until today 01.25.20.

Rebooting the router didn't help.

Removing -nomap from the end of my SSID cured the problem and now the parental control work as before.

Having a switch to "turn off geolocation" that doesn't actually turn it off in the first place is, pardon my language, bullshit! Then having us dig through several layers of said "bullshit" to find a so called fix, is even worse.

On top of that your lame excuse and work around also causes problems with other hardware.

I am old and non-technical. I have manged over the years to turn off google search suggestions successfully in the past but, whatever I do my new computer running Windows 10 refuses to oblige. I have turned off suggestions in privacy and made the simple alteration in about:config to no avail. My homepage is google search engine and the I type my sserach in the google engine not in in any URL bar - if that makes sense. I have searched for possible resloutions in the user forum but they either tell me to turn off what I have already turned off or refer me to a Linux mint solution which even if I understood I feel is inappropriate. Unless i have a solution I think I will be forced to use chrome, safari or whatever. The add=ons that i use and my settings all seem to work in my previous computer Help please.

Fortinet (or Forticloud) all of a sudden started a couple weeks ago to deny my access to many websites when I click on the link in an article, etc. Never happened before. When I contacted Fortinet, they said maybe Firefox added this to my account. I prefer to delete this security measure. Does anyone know how? Thanks.

Using IE, I can import certificates and set up a security device once. Then when a new user logs onto that computer, their profile already has those certificates and security device set up. I want to do this in Firefox.

Right now, what I'm doing is copying the cert9.db and pkcs.txt files to a central location. Then, when a new user logs in, and they get a new Firefox profile, I copy those files to the new profile, overwriting what's already there. This is working, but it's still too much for non-computer users, and I can't always be there to do it.

I'd like to be able to set it up on the computer, in like an admin mode or something, and then users can come and go as they please, and I never have to worry about it again.

When I am taken to a log in page or an account page on several completely different websites, I can see random peoples personal information like their full names, email addresses and phone numbers. When I go to one website, it automatically logs in to someone else's account and I have no idea who the person is. each time I click on the link, it brings up a new random person's account and info. It's not just happening on one website. I have no idea how this is happening and I worry that my account information is popping up on other peoples screens just like theirs is popping up on mine. I don't even know who to contact to try to resolve the problem. I even tried to call the Federal Trade Commision, but they didn't seem to care or want to help.

Hello, I recently deleted an e mail alias on my GoDaddy host. I then deleted that alias in my Thunderbird. Now, I cannot send e mails out on my main biz account on this computer, without Thunderbird asking for the password to the account I deleted! I went into the outgoing server settings and found the old e mail alias, with the title "Your Wild West Domain", and I would like to delete it. However, it has the same outgoing server as all my other e mail aliases. Will I delete all my e mail accounts' outgoing servers if I delete just that alias? Thanks!

hey, i am working with both thunderbird 68.4.2 and outlook. on both i have the kaspersky ksos installed. both are configured to allow the antivirus to scan the incoming emails and traffic. on the outlook side of things the antivirus scans through the email and warns me if it was anything attached and attempts to delete it.on the thunderbird side of things i dont get any warnings at all and the pop3 downloads continues as normal. after a while, i get notified that in c:\users\user\appdata\roaming\thunderbird etc..... there is a trojan X. points to inbox and inbox.msf.... option a) i press delete as it should have access to the database but nothings happens. the mail or attachment is still there. option b) i go in, in some kind of safe mode, and i delete the file which afterwards tottally destroys the index and messages although there, they disappear from the inbox list...

Feb 4, 2020. This started 2 or 3 weeks ago. No problem before then. I click on the shield in the toolbar. That takes me to a pop up window where I click on "Protection Settings" which takes me to the page "about:preferences#privacy#. I go to the section headed "Logins & passwords" and I check the boxes on "Autofill logins and passwords" and "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites". I close the page, then close Firefox. Sometimes when I reopen Firefox the box is still checked. Sometimes it is unchecked and my logins and passwords do not show up on the sites where I saved them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I basically like the search suggestions feature, and I want it to pull suggestions from my bookmarks. But I don't want to pull suggestions from ALL of my bookmarks. Isn't there a way to exclude specific bookmark folders from suggestions?

An example of a similar feature would be how in macOS you can prevent Spotlight from searching certain folders. I want to do that for Firefox's search suggestions.

Thank you.
