Hi!

I'm representing LiveJournal and I'd like to clarify the recent security concerns.

We consider security our main priority and are constantly paying particular attention to it when developing new features and updating old ones. Within the past 8 years we have:

- switched to HTTPS for all pages; - improved password storage mechanics; - implemented suspicious activity detecting system which tracks and block suspicious logins; - maintained monitoring for vulnerabilities both within LiveJournal's code and third-party software employed by us; - recommended all of our users to update their passwords at least once per 6 months and to use different passwords for different services; - we have also disabled passwords that haven't been updated for several years.

You may find the details in official LJ new channel - https://news.livejournal.com/155859.html

We are keeping track of the information distributed in the Internet and want our users to feel safe. That’s why we kindly ask you to stop showing security alert to Firefox browser users about their LiveJournal accounts security.

Thank you.

Hello,

I trust my email finds you well.

On two occasions recently I googled something and when I click on the page I wish to visit, a popup appears with celebrations raining from the top of the screen and then a survey follows.

Please see the images I uploaded here.

Is this a virus / malware or legit or a popup that got past ad-block plus?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Schalk

Hi, I'm surprised there is no feature to lock thunderbird with a password so a theft or someone who is walking by to my unlocked computer, can just go on and read my e-mails.

Since the last update, none of the available add-ons are compatible any longer.

This is a bit frustrating.

Thanks for improving thunderbird!

Hi, I am visiting a site from my favorites and suddenly I am greeted with a red page urging me that this site has dangerous content and I should leave it? Why is that? There is an option to ignore the risk but I want this red screen disabled and not to see it again. How can I disable it and possibly even delete it from my computer?

In the settings I have unchecked this: Deceptive Content and Dangerous Software Protection Block dangerous and deceptive content

but still get the error. How can I disable this stupid page!

password security is not there in this browser at all ,non technical one can also get vulnerable details of the user easily, when someone has set save password . supposed the gmail accc password is saved and then the user sign out of it, and try to log in again then passwprd is visible again, there should have been password attribute and password should not be visible unless the user enter system password or fingerprint auth, it is very serious issue i think

Dear thunderbirders!

With the increasing amount of phishing emails (and them getting better), I wonder if there is an option/extension in thunderbird, that helps me to faster decide if an Email is legitimate or not. It's about debunking the embedded links:

I'd like to not only see the link text but always see the full hyperlink (or only the domain of it) directly in the mail-text. I know that the link-adress is shown at the bottom if I hover over the link, but sometimes I'm simply not fully attentive while reading my mail, so I forget to check this....

e.g. Instead of the text " now press <<here>>" where <<here>> is the link, it would show "now press domainname:<<here>>

or enforcing that after pressing the link, a pop up opens that shows the domain name in bold and one has to press OK/not OK...

I know that may render some emails rather unreadable, but maybe with a keyboard shortcut, one could then quickly disable it...

Just thinking out loud... does this make any sense?

I have several websites where I am a paying customer to be able to access content. On some of them when I log into their site I am not recognized as being logged in, when I open a new tab on that site. On the New York Times website it will sometimes happen when I link to individual stories from the front page, but a simple page refresh then will show I am logged in.

On my job search website though Flexjobs (at www.flexjobs.com ) it almost always opens the page as if I am not logged in. It's maddening to have to log in again and then try to find where I was!

I'm running the latest version of Firefox, and have cleared the cache.

Hi,

I am trying to configure PKI based authentication and encryption system in my organization using Hardware token. I was able to install my hardware token feitan ePass2003 Auto in privacy->security device. I am able to see my certificates under view certificate after entering my password for private key. After research on internet, came to know that Applet based client authentication is obsolete and hence i have configure my token in Firefox. The next step i.e Authentication page is where i have got stuck up. Can any one please give details guide on how to use cryptoken operation(challenge & signing) and access to token in JavaScript at client side login page. I could not get hold of any library of java script for access to token through Firefox. Any guidance is highly appreciated.

Thanks

I find the way Thunderbird treats junk mail very confusing. I clicked on "run junk mail controls", expecting to find ways of controlling junk mail. I didn't intentionally click on anything else after that. The result was that almost every message (several hundred) in my inbox was marked as junk, mostly from people who write quite often and are welcome, but a few exceptions that were all also from people who write quite often and are welcome. Fortunately, this seems to affect only messages that are already in the inbox. But I'd still like to get rid of the junk marks, and I can't find how.

Hello! My name is Russell Vaughan and I'm a Sales Engineer at GoSquared. We noticed that Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection now blocks our chat widget in strict mode as it is loaded from GoSquared.com

Our chat widget is not reliant on our Analytics tracking. If you block just our tracking endpoints, opposed to all of gosquared.com, our chat widget will still load and be functional. However, all tracking will still be blocked. We've worked with most of the other tracking blocking tools to solve this.

Is there any way you can help us resolve this or point us in the right direction?
