I am having problems with the master password addressed elsewhere. However I am stuck with a master password I cannot remove until I send more details. Meanwhile, if I try to open Thunderbird, perhaps by mistake it requests the password. If I do not enter the master password Thunderbird will not shut down, and I have to use Task Manager to kill the process. If I try to close, it simply asks for the password and remains part open until I kill it.

I've searched the support knowledge base and read through every help item I can find using the terms search, email and headers, but am not finding anything about whether it is possible to search for specific emails based on data in email headers other than Subject, From, and the message body. I am hoping there is a way to search other email header fields such as Reply-to, Received, Return-Path, and Message-Id. Maybe others as well.
Is there a way to do this? If not, I would like to suggest it as a improvement for both the Global Search as well as the Quick Search functions.
Currently running Thunderbird 115.3.1.
Thanks!

So, since I started using Linux I've run as root. I know, I know, I'm not supposta, but I have. Only ever had two problems: once someone managed to download a picture of his boat, and a while back someone hacked my facebook PW. Anyway perhaps it's time I trod the straight and narrow path, so I'm going to start using my user Linux account. Is there a recommended doc for how to move *everything* from my existing root TB account to my user account? Or can the account be shared? I'm hoping to be able to grab my mail from the same provider with no issues, see the same folders, same preferences ... everything.

Since the update my emails all look incredibly weird in Thunderbird. Right now it has who the email is from with the subject below it and now, all the way to the right, it has when it was sent. I used to be able to see more information and it was easier to view. As I use this for work, as our work server is horrendous, I really could use some help. I have looked over my option in View but that has not helped much.

Help! I just installed the latest Firefox 120.0 and I have a huge problem:
I work a lot with the address bar. I type a few characters and choose a URL from my history that I need to work with, then modify that URL by typing or pasting, to get the address I need. Now, I can't do that. Either I accept the full URL suggested or I must type a completely new one. That's a huge obstacle for me. I absolutely need to work with, i.e. select and modify, URLs that I have previously visited.
Please tell me there is a way to do this!

I do not want this, I prefer my PDF reader! How do I stop Firefox trying to take over this function? (other than converting to Chrome)

I'm perplexed because I don't see any trace of search engine query strings! Where is this data stored?

Never had this problem before. Same PW for Gmail but now TB doesn't accept it. I can get my Gmail only through a browser with that same PW.
