I belong to a group of 11 people, and one or another of us occasionally sends a group email around to everybody. Those emails usually call for responses to some question or issue involving all of us.

And here's my problem -- sometimes when I hit REPLY ALL, my reply goes out showing someone else in the group as the sender, not me. That can lead to confusion, of course, as the others in the group will think my reply came from that someone else. Anyway, I include a couple of screen shots. And I deleted from the images any info showing my address or anyone else's. I did leave the usernames, so that I can explain.

They are "Fletcher Lokey" / flokey and "Susan Dyment" / sdyment.

First one (1.jpg) shows what I see when I click REPLY ALL. You would expect my username and address to be showing at the top, but it's Susan Dyment's name and address. AND, at the far right end, you see "flokey", which should not be associated with Susan Dyment, I would think.

Second one (2.jpg) shows what I see when I click that small "down arrow" at the far right end of the box. My username and address are then seen at the top of the dropdown, circled in red. But the entry for Susan Dyment is the one selected at the start. When I select my info, things get straightened out. I also have a gmail account, which is showing as the third option in the dropdown. That's only there because it was part of the experiment I did so I could get the screenshots

So I have to be paying attention, so I can correct it if it happens.

I've hunted through my address book for any clue to why Susan's info is the one selected when REPLY ALL is called. In fact, I'm left wondering why anyone EXCEPT me would be in that dropdown box. And why in the world does Susan Dyment have "flokey" associated with it there?

I hope that's not too confusing. And any help appreciated

I have been using Thunderbird for a few months now with no problems. But I have just been told I have emails on our server that I have not had. I then realised I haven't received any emails since April 4th. It is a POP3 account and all the details are correct. I deleted the account and reinstalled it but still no emails. I can send emails from this account but not receive and don't understand why the sudden change when all was working fine before. Please help Thanks

How can I locate a folder within Thunderbird (ie not at the OS prompt)

I have been using Thunderbird since the mid to late 90's ... and (this may horrify some) I have something like 250.000 emails and at least 1000 folders for my personal email (most for my hobby)

I have noted the recent changes to Mozilla concerning folder management and I really like them

The only problems I am having currently is the unable to move error (which I seem to fix by reindexing via REPAIR FOLDER) ... and I cannot seem to find a way to search for a folder so that I can right click ... Properties ... Repair folder

Does anyone know of a way to locate a folder within Thunderbird?

I can easily search for the email address ... and then I see a LOCATION ... but the problem is ... I have a mulitiered directory structure ... and am having trouble finding under which parent / child / child-child directories to look

My Thunderbird has stopped downloading messages--how can I get it to function again. I have rebooted and downloaded a new version.

"Manual Configure" disappears and does not allow Thunderbird manual configuration

I have to manually configure Thunderbird as my email is thru Localnet.com. The box where you put your name, your email address and your password gives you only the word, 'Continue'. The term 'Manual configuration' and 'Stop' show up only in the next box but 'Manual Configuration is grayed out. 'Stop' does not work either. 'Manual Configuration' disappears and is replaced with a small box that say 'Advanced' but that is also grayed out. How can I do a manual configuration or advanced when the buttons do not make it available? I have tried this multiple times. One other thing - when you go to 'Tools' and click on Accounts a box comes up and at the very bottom of that box is 'Account Options'. BUT, above 'Account Options' the entire box is empty. From my resesarch that box should have information in but it does not. The only thing that I can think of the could possibly be causing a problem is that I share this system with someone who uses AOL email and at one point I saw that AOL is the default email. I'm not sure that it is the problem because we sign onto the system under our own names with our own passwords so that this computer functions as if ti were two separate computers. But, maybe I'm wrong and that is the problem.....unless someone can think of another reason why Thunderbird is not allowing a manual set up. We are on Verizon DSL so that I have spoken with them but they were no help. They want you to sign up for a Verizon email account which I'm not interested in, unless it could help solve this problem. I've been with Localnet.com for many years and they give excellent service. This is the only occasion that they have not been able to help since the 'Manual Config' button is grayed out. I need to get this worked out asap since I work from home and need Thunderbird and Lightning set up a quickly as possible. Thank you, mskriss

Have set IMap to 993 & SMTP to 465, still cant add Rogers account

Rogers.com is not recognized by Thunderbird and entering the approved POP, IMAP and SMTP values is not sufficient to get the account registered. Others have this problem… (read more)

I am worried that my recipients will receive my misaligned emails and that it will be difficult for them to read them. For now I have resorted to typing out my e-mails in word and then attaching that document to my the email I want to send. This is time consuming for both me and the recipient. Surely there is a better way?
