unable to send & receive emails

Our office has been using Thumderbird for our emails for several years now, just recently, we have been unable to receive or send emails on some of our computers.

Yesterday, 2/4/23, all of a sudden Firefox won't connect to any websites. I push a shortcut button, or type in a website and the address shows in the address bar and in the tab the dot bounces left and right showing it's trying to connect but it never connects. I have no idea what caused it. There were no updates of windows or anything else. Ice Dragon web browser, based on firefox, MS edge, chrome, Brave, all work. Anyone have any ideas where to start troubleshooting? Thanks, Darren

Somehow my Firefox automatically changes to Hungarian so I can't understand what the screen choice are. I found a languange selection on firefox.com at the lowr right hand of tthe screen but it doesn't change permanenetly and every screen prompts in hungarian.

I found the issue, archived from 2021, which describes my problem, quoted below. But the solution ( inbox set to drafts) doesn't help for me. It's been happening fr a while - sort of crept up on me so I'm not sure when it happened.

When I open an email message, it automatically goes to the "reply" or "write" mode. I can't just view the email. This means that I can't open links in an email. This just started happening. How do I fix this? ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My inbox is set to local folders. It happens to any email, irrespective of the email account it's come from. It happens in my log in on the family PC. Not in my wife's email accounts in her log in. I've tried trouble shooting mode in case it's an add-on. This makes no difference. Win 10 TB version 102.7.2 . I've done a screenshot. I double clicked on a message in my inbox (chosen at random, but safe to display publicly) Help would be appreciated.

Good morning,

I have a question regarding my google accounts.

When I log into my email, the browser never leaves me logged in and never remembers my laptop. I always have to confirm over with my phone that it is me and that only started when I began using Firefox as my default browser.

How can I change the settings within Firefox to keep my info saved, so I do not always have to confirm over my phone?

This is a very recent issue for me. A couple of days ago "tel:" links stopped functioning. I click on a callable link and nothing happens. I checked default applications, and tel: isn't even listed there. The first time it happened there was a dialogue box asking me what application to use, but after that nothing opened at all. I build and monitor websites, so I'm constantly checking these links for functionality.

Some new messages are flashing on my screen when I'm looking at my In Box on my PC or I-Phone and then they disappear. This problem has occurred several times in the past week. I can only find the messages by going online to Gmail or by checking All Messages on my phone. Yesterday, one was a personal message; today the message was a login code sent by Firefox.

I just installed Thunderbird v 102.7.1 64 bit on Xubuntu Linux

My email SMTP server uses SSL/TLS on port 587 but Thunderbird won't let me set it up. If I select SSL/TLS the port automatically switches to the standard port. What's the solution?

After I type in my google email address, it takes me back to typing in the email address again and again. And so it goes on. See attached image.

This problem has only occurred in the last 24 hours:

a) I access a Word file with Firefox (maybe an e-mail attachment, maybe directly from an e-learning site); I tell Firefox to Open With Word 365; the file opens, but only in Read-only mode - I cannot edit the document at all; I cannot change this status from within Word 365.

b) I access the very same file from the very same source but now tell Firefox to Save File to my Desktop; I then open the file with Word 365 - it opens 'normally'; I can edit the document straight away.

Yesterday, it did not matter if I did a) or b), I could always edit the document straight away (Read-only was never 'forced' on me).

As extra background, I have turned off every Protected View feature in Word 365 which I can find - does not help at all.

I want to be able to go back to option a): Open With Word 365, NOT have 'Read-only' & be able to edit the document immediately.

Hello, I am contacting you guys in hopes of a fix of the removing the following certificate not going away despite me deleting it in certificates. When deleted it appears again when I restart Firefox. "Your browser is being managed by your organization".

Note I believe its from threat protection from NordVPN, however, I deleted NordVPN and threat protection and all the remnants with an App Shredder for this to still be here.

I am using Firefox version 109.0.1 and MacOS 13.2 (22D49) (i'm using a m1 macbook air)

I have tried manually deleting it multiple times and using the following terminal command recommended to me from someone on reddit.

(Said terminal code I tried) sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox EnterprisePoliciesEnabled -bool FALSE

None of this worked. Hopefully there's a fix.
