Sent mail not being saved in my sent mail folders.

When sending emails, TB has always filed them correctly in my IMAP sent folders. Today it comes up with a message

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder due to a network or file access errors

I can only save by selectic save to local folders.

Any ideas - it has completely cocked up my use of TB!!!!

Since Thunderbird was updated, I stopped receiving messages on the program and cannot save sent messages to "sent messages" folder. I have tried rebooting the computer and restarting Thunderbird. Can only get email by going to the gmail.com website. Much prefer to use T-bird. Help me, please.

Since upgrading to Thunderbird 78.1.1 (32-bit) I'm not able to receive emails from my pop server and when i try to send an email I get the following error message Sending of the message failed. Peer reports incompatible or unsupported protocol version. The configuration related to mail.******.com must be corrected.

I am using TB to connect to my gmail account. My OS is windows10 Pro and the protocol for downloading email is pop3. I have been doing this quite happily for a year or more. Suddenly I am unable to download any email. At the bottom of the screen it says "connected to pop.gmail.com..." but nothing happens. Have tried some of if not all of thee suggestions in the forum bout nothing has made any difference. I can upload email with no problem and using another computer can download with no problem. Will I have to re-install TB on this computer?

A while back I upgraded to version 78 only to realize that was a major mistake for me. It wasn't easy but eventually I got myself back to version 68 and turned off automatic updates to be sure that I would stay on 68.

Then, out of nowhere, when I rebooted my machine I was back on 78 and have no idea how that happened. Once again, I went through the painful backward migration but kept wondering how the second forward migration happened since I had turned off automatic updates.

I think I may know, now, how the second migration to 78 happened. Something like once a day, Thunderbird pops up a dialog box asking me if I want to upgrade and it appears that the affirmative is the default selection. I am afraid that at some point that dialog box popped up, stole my focus just as I was hitting 'RETURN' and it downloaded and installed 78 in the background. I didn't find out about it until I rebooted my machine and reopened Thunderbird.

I don't want that to happen again -- I cannot currently run on 78. I would really like to stop it harassing me to upgrade -- I will upgrade when it is okay for me to do so. Is there some way to stop that dialog from popping up?

I am unable to receive or send external emails from a number of ISP's. Appears to have been since an upgrade to 78.5.0. Others I know have the same problem. Message says connected to server, but no new emails are coming in, I can't move emails to other folders, and sending emails results in sent copies not going to the sent folder, but instead a message offering saving the Local Folders is presented. It isn't a server problem because I can use Outlook as normal - but I detest Outlook, and would prefer that Thunderbird worked!

I need to restore a folder named WebDev along with its subfolders from a backup created with Windows 7 Backup on Windows 10. I copied WebDev and WebDev.msf from backup to Mail/Local Folders under my profile. But that only restored the top level folder named WebDev. I do not see corresponding names for each subfolder on backup or even under Local Folders for other live subfolders. How can I identify and restore the subfolder files from backup or even see other live subfolder files under Local Folders?

Suddenly today no emails are downloading to any of my accounts in Thunderbird. I have several cox, gmail, and outlook accounts, and they all were working fine yesterday. I am still able to send emails from Thunderbird, just not see the incoming emails.

Hello, a few days ago thunderbird stopped fetching my IMAP messages from Gmail. it shows it's "connected to imap.gmail.com, but when I go to inbox all I see is the inbox tab keeps spinning. I tried to reinstall thunderbird and rebooted, but still, Thunderbird won't sync.

I attached the image to show what keeps happening.

I just created a new user and new mailbox. It works fine in the Comcast portal but not when I set up in Thunderbird. These are the settings that Comcast gave me to use:

IMAP protocol Incoming settings: imap.comcast.net / port 993 / SSL/TLS / Normal password / user name ****@comcast.net Outgoing settings: smtp.comcast.net / port 465 / SSL/TLS / Normal password / user name ***@comcast.net

It keeps telling me the password is wrong "Alert 1014" I know the password is correct. I use it to log into the Comcast portal and I have retyped it 4 times very carefully.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have been using TBird for more than 20 years and suddenly I can't download incoming email. I can send without problem, but when I click "Get Messages" nothing happens. The message box at the very bottom of my TBird screen says I'm connected to pop.mail.yahoo.com, but it's apparent it's not even trying to search for or download new mail. Usually a green line appears at the bottom of the screen as it searches, but that doesn't happen. Nor does it check for new email when I open TBird. It worked fine yesterday... What happened?

I can't set up a new account; this is the only email address I have.

I can read and reply to my email through the online inbox, but I need to be able to download those messages.

I tried going to AT&T/Bellsouth/Yahoo to get the latest email settings, but that part of their website seems to be down and I get "sorry about that" error messages.

I'm running the latest version of Windows 10, but as far as I know there haven't been any updates in the past week or so.

HELP!! I use TBird for my business and this is going to turn into a major problem very soon.

Haven't been able to receive emails on my desktop since update last nite. I do receive emails on my phone, so Thunderbird seems to be the problem. I've rebooted computer 3 times + re-started T-bird. No new emails.
