My system recently slowed considerably. When I checked what was happening, I found there were up to 14 Firefox 'windows' showing in my Task Manager, and collectively these 'windows' were consuming over 25% of the computer memory (650+MB) even with Firefox just opened as the initial browser screen; no addresses etc had yet to be added. I've followed many of the troubleshooting suggestions, but to no avail. I have not reset the browser as yet as I need to understand the root of the problem

There has been this odd banner of scripts on certain web pages for a while now and I'm not sure what it is or how to stop it. I don't know what the problem could be.

I opened Thunderbird and tried to move my emails from one account that was a comcast address to one that was a gmail address. It did it locally but it also put the emails on the gmail server account on the web which I didn't want to happen. Why? Also, if I delete them off the gmail server will they also delete on Thunderbird. I can't afford to lose them as it represents about 10 or so years of stuff.

I am a new user of 115.6.1 (64-bit) on a Mac.

I want to sort my contacts by last name. I can't find the menu item I have seen in other posts to do this. Can someone tell me where it is. It's not in my view menu.

If this setting exists, does it apply to all address books? thanks in advance!!!

Even though I specify the display name to be first name first, some contacts still are listed in the address book with the last name first. I was unable to find solutions to this online. Some mentioned using the "view" feature in the Address Book, but the only "View" I found was for Thunderbird as a whole. (See attachment.) I'm lost. Please point me in a direction and clue me in on how to specify first names first in all contacts. Thanks!

Hello Before I reset my PC some months ago, I almost never had to Login to sites, as the kept me logged in. This no longer happens, and now I frequently have to Login to eg. my Google account which needs third party autho and all sorts. It is rather annoying having to Login to Google every time I close the Window.

I do not have this setting on: "delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" I do have this setting on: "Ask to save logins and passwords for web sites"

It does save my Password and autofill, which makes it easier. But it is still annoying, that I have to login to everything every time.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox, to no avail.

Several years ago I stopped using Outlook and started using TB 60.9.1. I converted the PST emails and migrated them to TB Local Folders. I have never been able to update TB to 68.12.1 without losing the Local Folders that I set up. I am not an IT person and not very good with software. Could someone kindly provide some simplified guidance so I can update TB without losing my Local Folders? Thank you!

My issue is a rather frustrating one as, try as I might, I am unable to find the Menu button on the Firefox Home Screen.

FYI I’m using an Nvidia Shield that is utilising the latest Android TV OS.

Any help and advice that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the text in Thunderbird (and also Firefox) displays as a green and pink/purple colour. Even refreshing doesn't seem to change it back to the black text.

I have also noticed that this is also happening in Firefox when I access the admin part of a WordPress site. I have tested the WordPress site with both Chrome and Edge as well, and it only happens with Firefox.

Is there a way of stopping this from happening?

I recently stopped being able to send email. I receive emails just fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm having the same problem. My wife uses an email account with Spectrum as well and has no such problem. Error message reads - "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com timed out. Try again." I've checked my server settings and they're correct. Settings copied from Spectrum: Username Your Spectrum email address Note: Be sure to include your domain after your username. Password Your Spectrum email password SSL On for SMTP and IMAP Protocol IMAP Incoming Server mail.twc.com Incoming Server Port 993 Outging Server mail.twc.com Outging Server Port 587 Requires Authentication Yes, or checked. I have no antivirus, VPN, proxy or firewall software on. I'm using Thunderbird 115.6.1 on Linux Mint 21.3 My wife uses Outlook on Windows 10.

I need to know the smtp settings to get the email outgoing to work. It just stopped working yesterday. It receives email, but will not send. talked to tech support at my provider, was told to contact you to solve this problem. To get started, make sure you have the following settings:

   Username: Your full Spectrum email address

   Password: Your Spectrum email password

   SSL: On

   Protocol: IMAP

   Incoming Server Port: 993

   Outgoing Server Port: 587

   Requires Authentication: Yes, or checked

You'll also need to enter your incoming email server and outgoing email server. The server that allows you to send mail is the outgoing or SMTP server. The server that lets you receive mail is referred to as an incoming, POP or Mail server. Those will vary based on your domain, which is the part of your email address that follows the @ symbol, such as charter.net.

I believe this issue started today. When I print using the Firefox dialog box, all of the printed pages are in color even though the color mode is set to Black and White. I have not changed any of my printer setting and have been using the same printer for many years. The printer is an HP Officejet Pro 8600. I have Firefox version 116.0.3 which was just updated today to that version. When I use another browser (Google Chrome) the pages are printed in Black & Whte. Therefore this appears to be a Firefox issue. I am using Windows 10 64 bit. How can this problem be corrected so that the pages will print in Black & White when I use the Firefox diaglog box? I frequently manage cookies in Settings. In the Privacy and Security page of Settings, I click on the Manage Data button to delete unwanted cookies. It works, no problems.

My issue is that, when I re-size the window that lists current cookies, that window size does not hold. The next time I access Manage Data the window is back to its original, small size.

Up until v121, the window has retained the size it was previously.

I have the same problem on my laptop using Firefox v115x. It used to keep the same size window, but a few months ago stopped that behavior and always starts with the small-sized window.

It is not the worst problem to have, but I keep track of multiple cookies on a regular basis. Leaving the window the same (larger) size would be nice.

It also would be nice for that window to retain the view last used. I usually check cookies that were most recently used, but the window has always defaulted to the largest cache size for cookies.

These are minor niggles, but it would be nice if they could be addressed one day.

Attached is a screenshot of my extensions. These did not seem to interfere with Firefox functions before.

File folders including inbox appear empty. Troubleshooting mode reveals contents every time but after a while they go blank again. Something is hiding all my saved e-mail, and I have quite an elaborate filing system which is important to me. I wonder if I'm carrying too much. I could easily delete half or more of old files.

thunderbird 115 BUG: click on any link in the menu or in an email and an error box appears. This just started 2 days ago. No way to fix this that I can see. I can copy link and manual paste in a browser, what a pain.

Do I need to find another mail system or will this be fixed soon. Ray

Smaller adblocker ultimate advertising icon appears on most screens. It's annoying and typically in the way. I tried adblocker once but disabled it months ago and removed it today. The ad for adblocker ultimate still appears in the lower corner of most pages. The icon and the Expanded flag is (opened) are both attached below.

I used to be able to access my Wells Fargo account using Firefox (as recently as last Thursday Jan 11,2024). Now when I try to access the account, Wells Fargo no longer recognizes my sign-in information. The Wells Fargo internet customer service person I spoke to said I was the second customer within the last few days with a similar problem with Firefox. Both Chrome and Edge are not having similar problems. I have the latest version of Firefox, so possibly Wells Fargo changed something. I do not want to use Chrome or Edge because of the hundreds of trackers they allow. Does anybody have any ideas? How does Firefox check on the compatibility of Firefox with websites? Thank you.
