After I leave the Mozilla browser on my android and I lock my phone for a short time, or go to another app, firefox no longer saves my scroll position on a webpage. This began after the recent firefox mobile update. I couldn't find another mention of this issue in the forums. My keywords may not match how others described the issue, but I hope someone else has run into this and knows why it's happening.

It is a minor inconvenience for most people I'm sure, but I tend to read long articles and get stopped frequently. I'd appreciate any suggestions or info!

Hi, since the new version, I am unable to use firefox to listen to my favorite web radio (https://www.rtbf.be/radio/liveradio/classic21) because it plays well as long as the page is open and screen active, but as soon as I switch to an other app or turn off the screen to just continue listening, after 30 sec or so, the sound becomes broken, as if the sound stream could not be downloaded normally. I had to switch to chrome wich with this problem does not occur. Is there a way to say to firefox not to throttle downstream when in background?(I searched...a lot before considering using chrome...sadly no fix yet) Thank you for your help... Antoine Ps greetings from France

When I open page with #anchor in it through Open link in new tab, then switch to that tab after some time (when it should have done loading already), it shows scrolled to the bottom of the page. On some websites it the jumps to the correct position. For example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML_element#Anchor On other sites it stays on the bottom: https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/first-image-of-a-black-hole-from-the-event-horizon-telescope-released.739273/page-2#post-56610305

Hello,

I've already followed all the instructions in [community support post] with no success.

This was happening when I was still using Firefox Nightly Preview (Nightly 200706 06:01 (Build #2015750387), through Firefox Nightly (Nightly 200926 06:03 (Build #2015766131) and it has continued after deleting app data and switching to Firefox for Android (81.1.1 (Build #2015764547) recently updated.

Whether I'm browsing in Firefox, or have closed the browser and I am using a different app on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S8), at random times the screen will freeze for a moment before a new browser tab or window tries to open.

I've installed the uBlock add-on and under the Filters List I've checked every box in every category so the unauthorized sites can't fully load, but the tab still opens and at times even turns my display on if I was sleeping.

Currently I've set my phone to not have a default browser so every time the malware tries to load a new tab I get a request for which app I want to open the request with.

I would really like to find the cause of this problem as it eats up a lot of battery power having the phone constantly turning itself on even if it is not in use.

Hello together,

I have Firefox version 81.1.1 installed on my Android phone. "Open links in Apps" in firefox settings is deactivated. The Youtube App is also deactivated on my phone.

When I try to open "youtube.com" long time nothing happens. After some time firefox screen shows "address not found". I have also tried the URL "play.google.com". The Google Play Store App is active on my phone. Got the same error message.

All other URLs work as expected.

Any idea what the problem is?

Info: I do not want to open the URLs (e.g. youtube.com) in the native Apps knowingly for privacy reasons.

Is there any way to choose which apps will be used when clicking on "translate" or "dictionary" in the context menu (long press on a word on a website) on Android?

Right now clicking on "translate" always opens Google Translator (I even only see the translate button when the Google Translator app is installed) and "dictionary" opens a seemingly pre-installed dictionary on my Samsung Galaxy S10 ( Android 10) - on my older Samsung Tab S2 (Android 7) I do not see the translate button at all (I tried installing a couple of dictionary apps from the Play Store).

hello,

I've been using Firefox for what seems like decades and am an ardent supporter of Mozilla (also used Thunderbird for years) but have been really struggling with the recent update ("revamp") for weeks now. Since 81.1.1 came (I think, I didn't ask for this upgrade, only asked for 80.1.3 I think it was), it's been almost unuseable and seems to get worse every day.

I have a Blackberry PRIV which is an Android (6.0.1). I have never had any trouble with it using the old Firefox. I have no trouble with Firefox on my laptop with the same Wi-Fi and everything else the same except the laptop is running Ff 78.0.2 4-bit.

Firefox on my phone is now not just slow, it stops completely at about 1/4 of the rainbow bar on every search. ... It used to work for the first search or two in the morning, but since it updated itself to 81.1.1 , I don't even get a single search before it stops working.

Like another user who wrote in with the same problem on September 18th and has had no replies, I can use Chrome and it *is* "lightning fast" as the new Firefox was supposed to be. I've done everything I can think of ... I thought I'd solved the problem with the Ff beta but it soon ground to a halt, too.

I hope someone can put the clues together on this one ... I am not going to delete Firefox until I know it is completely hopeless.

many thanks for any hints, filterfeeder

Hello! I'm using Firefox Daylight(ver. 81.1.1) on my Android 10 pixel 4a, and have recently found that the browser is not downloading files with long filename properly. The browser didn't say that the issue is caused by the length of filenames directly, but the browser works perfectly fine when downloading images with regular filename, and the ones from the images I wanted to download are really long(they probably exceeded the limitation of the browser, I guess). I suppose this to be a bug just in the Android version, as images mentioned above could all be downloaded successfully in the desktop version and also on Chrome(Android ver.).

Hopefully there could be a solution for this, thanks a ton! (attachments are 1. the screenshot of failing to download the image, 2. the browser's version)
