I get redirected to yahoo so I thought I could just check the add-ons to look for malware. No add-on showed up in Firefox. I guess I have to find the file somewhere in my Finder but I found nothing in LaunchDaemons, Application Help or any other folders where it might be located. Some people on the internet said that you should look in prefs in Firefox but there is not anything suspicious. How can I delete the redirect virus?

Up until about a week ago, I could use Office 365 (and namely Outlook 365) without any issue. Then a few weeks ago, typing on firefox (MacOS) misses keys, space's don't work, and there will be a random new emails that will open. There is nothing under the keys, nor is there anything under the control or space buttons hindering use.

When I drag/drop or try to upload a file, it won't attach to the email. When force closing, the attachment issue might (keywork might) remedy itself for a minute, but then returns.

The above issues only exist on Outlook 365 on Firefox. I do not have any of the issues when on Chrome or Safari, not any of the apps on my macbook.

Feels Firefox specific due to no issues elsewhere (including while typing this!).

Thanks for any help!

/edit moved thread from Firefox for iOS (for iPhone/iPad) to Firefox section since you mentioned macOS.

Running Firefox on MacBook Pro iOS v 12.2.1. Recently updated Firefox, now while navigating through tabs, FF randomly selects multiple tabs. When this happens, I can only view the one tab, all others are selected, but I cannot then go to that tab to view. I'm not sure I'm explaining this well. Also, I cannot close the tabs with the X but must right click for drop-down menu to close. I can open new tabs, but that tab is becomes the anchoring selected tab, any other tab I try to go to then becomes selected, as well as every tab in between, none of which I can actually view, they are stuck. I have tried "select all" in hopes of then de-selecting, but deselecting is not an option.

This is really holding me up as I have work to do and cannot view the necessary tab. I'm extremely frustrated.

LOL, as randomly as it starts, it stops...I wanted to take a screen shot, but no, everything is fine now.

Problem description: It's been 3 days since I can no longer access Youtube on Firefox on my macbook pro 13. I've been getting this monkey error saying "Oops, something went wrong." Please advise.

Variables: - I'm a user in China. - I'm on the latest version of Firefox (detailed info attached below). - My macOS is up to date (macOS Monterey, detailed info including hardware info given below). - I access Youtube via ExpressVPN (also up to date), as Youtube is still officially blocked in China. - Youtube is accessible on both Safari and Chrome browser on my macbook, with Firefox being the only exception (but Firefox is also my favorite and default browser, which is why I'm trying to fix this). - I've also tried accessing Youtube via Firefox on my windows 10 PC, and all is fine. All other variables remain the same. - All the above tests were done in the exact same internet (wifi) environment. - Conclusion: There's nothing wrong with the local internet, VPN service, or Youtube site. It could only be with either the current build of Firefox for mac, or some unknown settings on my macbook. I can't be certain which is it because I only have 1 macbook hence I can't reproduce or test on another.

My email address for contact: [email removed from public forum]. Looking forward to your prompt reply.

Cheers, Aaron

Firefox 98.0.2/MacOS loads some pages but then blanks them

This problem appears on MacOS 10.13.3 but NOT Linux Mint 19.3 (Tricia).

Repeat-by:

1. Start here:

       https://www.cnn.com/

That page should load cleanly.

2. Now click on "Live Updates", which is the top entry in the middle column of that page, and as of 3 April 2022 11:20 AM EDT takes you to:

       https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/ukraine-russia-putin-news-04-3-22/index.html

On MacOS, that page loads and is momentarily visible; then the page/tab it's loaded in goes blank. On Linux, that page loads as expected and remains visible.

Notes:

The problem did not happen with Firefox 88.0.1/MacOS.

The problem does not happen with Firefox 98.0.2/Linux, i.e., it appears to be specific to MacOS.

The problem remains whether extensions are enable or disabled (one a time or all at once).

The problem remains after the cache has been flushed and pages have been reloaded.

The problem remains after Firefox has been (completely) shut down and (cleanly) restarted.

The problem does not happen with Chrome/Chromium on either MacOS or Linux.

The problem also happens on *some* other pages on CNN's site (but not all) and on *some* (but not all) pages of other sites but there doesn't seem to be a pattern that explains which URLs exhibit it and which don't. This suggests that it's not privacy settings or extensions or anything like that, because there's no reason for those to vary from page to page within any one site.

If I'm VERY fast on hitting the "X" that stops a page loading/rendering while in progress, and I get the timing just right, I can catch it before the page/tab goes blank. So it appears that Firefox is in fact fetching all the content and can render it, but then for some reason is blanking the page/tab once that's done.

The attached screenshot shows what the problematic page (from step 2 above) looks like on Linux. On MacOS it's blank, so I didn't include a screenshot of that.

Hi All - I have FF working well on a Windows PC and a Net Book and have newly installed it on a 2021 Mac Mini. It works fine but when I restart the Mac it has forgotten that I Sync'd FF previously and so has none of my bookmarks or preferences. I can re-sync and everything appears but why is it forgetting between times and what can I do to fix it? Thanks for any advice. Ian.

I used to LOVE Firefox, but I'm getting frigg'n irritated by it right now. Chrome and Safari both open this page. I had this same problem a few days ago, was sent a long list of possible ways to deal with it that were all over my head complicated. I chose the simplest one- to clear caches, and it worked! yay, for a couple of days, now the error is back. I there must be a different solution , or cause, than the cache one - What needs to be turned on or off, so this doesn't happen? Too complicated, too frustrating.

I'd love it if someone could give me some more ideas on this. Macbook Pro 16" 2021, IOS Monterey 12.1

Thank you!

Whenever I try to sign into Outlook Webmail (https://outlook.office.com/), Firefox crashes. I am on a MacOS Monteray (12.2.1). I have cleared all Firefox caches and cookies. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed Firefox. I have run it with my usual extensions, and completely clean, without any extensions and just the default settings.

The initial login page loads fine, and I type in the email address associated with the account. This takes me to the password page. If I type in an incorrect password, the site tells me so immediately. If I type the correct password, Firefox crashes--I get the spinning beachball cursor and (application not responding) in the dock. My only recourse is to force-quit Firefox.

Outlook webmail used to work fine in Firefox--I used it on this very machine nearly every day. The only change was that I recently had to update my email password. But again, I have had to do that every three months for years and have never had any problems.

Outlook webmail works just fine on this machine in Safari and Chrome. It's only Firefox that has any problems with it.

Any ideas about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
