When a click on a link which is a file I am always forced to save it to my computer before viewing it. Can't I just click on a link to open and view it without having to save it every time?

If I hit email links when inside Safari, I am taken directly to the Mac Mail page, with the address inserted, ready to go. If I hit email links in Firefox, they are dead.

I have a problem with Firefox 3.6.9. Every time links are inactives, I must change application in order to active links on the web sites. How can I resolve ? I have Windows XP Pro SP3

Sometimes the url of a webpage I have saved spontaneously disappears from the "location" column of the bookmarks organizer page, although it is still in the url field at the bottom of the page. The normal process of clicking on the bookmark and hitting delete doesn't work, so the bookmark becomes a useless phantom whose corresponding webpage cannot be accessed by clicking on the bookmark. How do I delete such a phantom bookmark?

The answer given by another user doesn't work for me on my Mac with OS 10.6.4. After selecting the folder in the Organize Bookmarks window, neither hitting "Delete" nor pulling down the Edit menu to Delete does the trick.

I have an iMac-have used Firefox exclusively for years. I can't access a school web site-can't get past the log in with user ID and password. Screen stays at log in screen. Tried clearing history-tried uninstall and re-install. All other web sites/bookmarks work fine. Thanks in advance.

It used to be that when we'd click on Firefox, we'd automatically see the Google page on the screen. Now we see a screen from you folks asking us if we need help with Firefox. What happened to the automatic Google connection, which we'd like to see restored? How do we do this?

When going to some websites an additional input sneak onto the screen. A "radio button" requires me to pick the button (upper right of screen) which has the word "allow" on the button. This occurs randomly and not on all requests to go to a website. Why does this step occur, why so random and can I TURN THE PEST OFF?

Ive been developing webpages with MAMP and joomla, and one day firefox started launching with three tabs open -- one admin access page from a live site i was developing a while back, and an untitled tab.

also --- its taking quite a long time for FF to launch. it used to pop open, now it lags. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled FF three times, (kept bookmarks and settings though) and still cant get rid of the problem. and i just upgraded to OSX snow leopard too.

any thoughts? thanks... c

I have 2 Macs. The latest is OS 10.6.4, the oldest is years earlier; the problem is the same on both of them. I would like to use Firefox, but have problems in that it does not always get photos, whether in email, blogs, or wherever. It does not always get parts of games I am trying to play online. Sometimes, I cannot shop because I cannot see all of what I am trying to order. At other times, it gets photos and diagrams fine. If I switch to Safari I do not have the problem. I have checked all my Firefox settings and do not see anything that could cause this, and I do not know how to fix it. Can you be of assistance?

Some emails just display a BLANK page when I try to open it.I go back to inbox & try again & the same thing happens.However if I move it to the Spam folder & try to open it,I WILL get the message.

After the last update, Firefox started asking permission to use fonts located on a external drive. These are weird fonts that were in a font folder I downloaded a few years ago. Also Firefox is making weird noises, like little bongs and cat hisses.

When I try to open Firefox the icon starts jumping a few seconds and then crash. I don't get any messages or anything. I have tried to re-install it time after time but still won't work! I worked a few days ago but Java did not work so I tried to re-install firefox and then this happened.

When trying to install the update, I get a message asking me if I want to replace an older item, and I click OK. THEN I get a message saying it could not be completed as I do not have permissions for some items. I clicked command-I and got the information window, clicked the closed lock, entered the correct administrator password, and then said to ignore ownership on this volume. I get the same results.

Whenever I install extensions/add-ons on firefox on my mac it wont start again after. When I create a new profile or start in safe mode it works great. I get no error message, the icon just make one jump and then chills. Firefox never even starts.

There is a glitch with an upload feature of our InSite program when Firebox is at 3.6.11. Our Kodak repsonse center mentions rolling back to 3.6.10 and it should work until the bug is fixed.

The window says "Indexing Firefox History" and stays up for about 3 seconds, then closes.

It's on a MacBook Pro, 8GB memory, 500GB SSD, latest patches up and running.

I don't doubt that this has been going on all the time with the various versions, but this version seems to have enabled the status window popup.
