I'm tired of shopping on a website and then going to a news site only to see ads from the shopping sites as if I'm being tracked and the ads are being customized for me. This happens all the time. I've recently seen Zappos.com and Bobbiebrown.com do this. Is there a way to prevent shopping sites from tracking me?

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

Description

I used to be able to starting typing a web address whenever I opened a new tab. But ever since I did a Firefox update, now I get this address whenever I open a new tab: chrome://vuze_remote/content/aboutTabs.htm. So then I have to select that address and delete it before I can start typing a link in the window. How do I get the address window to be blank again when I open a new tab?

My Mac says i do not have sufficient permission,( though I've repaired permissions and checked that I'm an administrator of this computer) to upgrade- can you tell me what the problem is? Mac 10.5.8

Clicked a link in Apple mail launches FF (Mac 3.6.6) with two windows: The window that I normally see when double-clicking FF, and a window evoked by the clicked link.

In Safari, I have folders with bookmarks in the appropriate folder and I can scroll down to see all of them. How do I scroll down in Firefox, to see all my bookmarks?

Sometimes videos won't play when I press play and when I can finally play them, I can't pause them but a couple tries later it will work. I'm on a mac and I noticed that the cursor will remain as an arrow when I attempt to click on videos and links and it will sporadically change into the little hand with the index finger only after several frustrated attempts.

current mozilla website design has eliminated (or hidden beyond my ability to find) information on what has changed in the latest released Firefox. The only thing I can find on "whats new" is a bland, generic "Firefox 3.6 is wonderful" video.

I want absolutely no glitches when I upgrade my MacBookPro from OSX 10.5.8 to 10.6.3. I use Safari as my main browser and Firefox only when a website does not work well with Safari. Therefore, I thought it might be best to uninstall Firefox before I upgrade, because I can always re-install Firefox after I have upgraded. What do you think? I have AppZapper to use to uninstall Firefox since it will search out and collect all Preference lists, etc., that accompany Firefox, resulting in a complete and clean uninstall. Any thoughts? Thanks!

For the last few months I have problems with Youtube or installing extensions. In both instances I get a message saying I have an outdated browser (version 2), and need to upgrade. I have installed Firefox 3 (Most recently 3.6.3) multiple times, closing the old version first every time. Firefox/about shows that I have 3.6.3 installed. I even tried deleting the old version entirely and downloading the new version with Safari (I saved my bookmarks, etc. in that case). Something is very wrong, and I'm unable to install several important extensions because of this problem.

I'm using a Mac, OSX 10.5.8.

I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have any suggestions?
