I want to delete my emails locally, not necessarily from the server

Title. Thunderbird is a really cool client but it's pretty slow. I blame that on the thousands upon thousands of emails that my hotmail and gmail each hold. I don't necessarily want to delete these emails, but I have seldom a reason to have any email older than 2 months in my thunderbird client slowing and crashing the program whenever I want to combine inboxes.

To this end I went to "Synchronization & Storage" and told it to "Synchronize the most recent 2 months" but it didn't delete the huge cluster of older emails. The next option is to tell TB to delete these emails in the same menu but as I understand it that would also delete them in the server, which I don't want to do for posteriority.

What do I do?

Ever since the last update, my keyboard isn't appearing in Firefox Focus when I tap the url bar. Normally it would appear to type in a new url, but not anymore. When I tap the bar, it automatically selects the complete url but then I have to tap again in order to show the keyboard. See the attached screenshot; I have tapped the url bar here but no keyboard has appeared.

I am using the regular keyboard on Android, Gboard. I'm on Android 13. Using a Fairphone 4.

Everything is updated to the latest available.

When I use the back button, odds are that it goes back twice instead of just once in my history. This is especially problematic for websites like Reddit, where each discussion is a new page - but two pages ago isn't the reddit website at all!

Hi, I'm using some typical browser extensions (lastpass, HTTPS Everywhere, Privacy Badger, etc.), but all of buttons stopped operating. When I click them, nothing happens, clicking just makes the icon be shaded like it's pressed. I tried updating the browser, signing out&in, removing, loading and enabling them again. Nothing works. Most frustrating is the lastpass extension, as I actually use it almost daily.

Also I assume that one can't contact mozilla directly about these bugs/issues, only this community chat?

I am using version 115.3.3 just today I started having problems. My default Windows virus checker did not identify any issues and I ran malware bytes and it showed zero problems. the problem seemed to start at the point when I forwarded a 5mb file to a few friends. Since then, I have been unable to send anything. The system continues to crash. Most of the time I cannot see any information in pull down lists. I have tried rolling back to a week old restore point and it continues to have the probem. I have tried updating to 115.4.1 and it still has the problem. I have removed all of the automatic installed updates from the last two days and still have the problem..... HELP!

I am not sure I will see emails back from this help request, but I sure hope so:)

I downloaded the new version of Thunderbird Mail, and now, I'm having continual trouble sending messages (but no trouble receiving them). A pop-up window keeps appearing requiring me to re-sign into my Microsoft account, for some reason, but whenever I press "continue" to sign in, nothing happens, and selecting "cancel" also has no effect. I'm already signed in to my Microsoft account on my laptop, anyway, so I don't know why this window keeps appearing, but I assume it's related to the fact that I'm having trouble sending e-mail. I have to keep closing the Thunderbird program and re-opening it every time I want to send new messages. This is becoming very tiresome. I've already tried closing and re-opening the Thunderbird program, but that doesn't fix the problem. I'm working on a Mac, with the latest iOS. All suggestions appreciated!

I select multiple files in File Explorer and select, right click, Send To, Thunderbird, but only one of the files actually appears in the Thunderbird email. It appears that which one shows up as an attachment to the email is quite random. This used to work fine with all the selected files showing in the email, I haven't upgraded anything so far as I know, and I don't think I have changed anything at all. Any ideas most welcome. Incidentally, if I select only one file to send then it works fine; if I select multiple files to send through Outlook, then that works fine. I just cannot send multiple files through Thunderbird. I am using Thunderbird version 115.4.1 (64 bit). I have looked at the issue on Microsoft pages and they are of the opinion that this is a Thunderbird issue, not a Windows one. Woke up this morning and my stupid phone had updated to the new, awful, Firefox on Android: ‎ 119.0 (Build #2015980915), 367d60e851+ GV: 119.0-20231019122658 AS: 119.0


To my horror I was seeing images on webpages, totally ruining my browsing experience. The main reason I use firefox on Android is because it allows me to turn off media. I don't want to see any of that, almost always entirely irrelevant, distraction. Now I'm going to have to use Samsung internet and continually click reader mode. This is NOT about ad blocking, it is not about saving data. It is about drastically improving the browsing experience. Please reinstate blocking of all images and videos.

Hello, Can anyone help with server issues? I'm able to sign in and open Thunderbird but i can not receive or send any emails. It states my server is the issue but i attempted everything i saw online in regards to turning on and off my proxy and firewalls as well as checking the port was 587 for outgoing but its still not working can someone assist me in fixing this.

I need help to organize the folder structure that was messed up during update to Thunderbird 115. Most urgent is one inbox folder which is now found under the accounts folder and not in the general inbox folder with all the other inbox folders. I would like to beable to move this misplaced inbox folder to it's original place in the general inbox folder.

Also in this misplaced inbox folder, its has other folders in it: template, draft, sent etc. These folder should stay in the accounts folder.

I hope that a future update will clear the mess, and other solutions are welcome :-)
