Try viewing your outgoing server details in your Thunderbird Software.

These settings are set as they are normally set for use.

After an update, some miscommunication could have arisen, resulting in a situation similar to yours.

Together we can see whether this can be completed so that it works as it should again.

Can you send me a screenshot of your outgoing SMTP server settings for email use? This is probably installed in your Thunderbird software on your desktop.

I've got Microsoft and google accounts plus I also checked my ISP account and all of them do it. After I send an item if I go and check sent items there are always two identical message there. I am running Linux Mint but I had the same problem under OpenSuse as well.

I am using Mac OS Sierra. I have an email that I am trying to send via Thunderbird. When I click on SEND, I get a popup that asks for my Gmail name. After clicking NEXT, nothing happens.

How do I get my email sent? Why is this happening?

I'll try again because I would like to continue using Thunderbird. Many times over the past months I have tried to find the answer to this problem. When I click on a link in email it no longer loads my browser. My only option is to right click on the link, copy, then run my browser and paste it. I use Google Chrome, but have tried Edge, Firefox and other browsers and the result is the same. This would suggest the problem is somewhere in my Thunderbird settings. I'm trying to be patient and ask you to be the same. If this problem ever gets solved, I'll begin sending a donation.

   I'm using Chrome on Windows 10 on a desktop computer.  
   My wife also uses Chrome but, on Windows 11 on a desktop computer.  She has no problem with her Thunderbird links.

I'm no longer seeing a statement of total space saved in the compaction status bar messaging. If this has been lost in recent upgrades, please bring it back!

Running 102.2.2 64 bit in WIN10 Pro

In the "Find / Search" menu, files are concatenated by subject. This leads to incorrect date ordering, so sometimes impossible or very difficult to locate messages. It would be helpfull if we could de-activate this concatenated view in search option, as we can do in the main Inbox window, showing all messages by date only, and not concatenated by Subject.

When I start Thunderbird, it asks to enter master password six times. I have configured 3 mail account and 3 Google calendars. I run TB 52.1.0, build 20170503142038 on Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed). Thunderbird work fine yesterday (2/22/24) but now won't download any messages. I click the download and nothing happens. I've logged into the server and checked for new messages manually (ls -l) and there are new messages. I've checked that dovecot is working (ps and telneting from the server and windows10 to port 995 and seeing a response. I've made no changes on either end. I'm getting a "nonoverridable TLS error" message when Thunderbird first opens. Also, new emails won't download into my IMAP account. I've tried adjusting the incoming and outgoing server port settings and even turning off the antivirus and phishing email scanners. Nothing works. It's now 1:59 PM on a Thursday afternoon and I've received no new emails since 11:20 AM. Please give me security settings that will work.

Without warning, in midday several days ago, I started receiving the following error message when attempting to send an e-mail on my office computer:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtpauth.earthlink.net timed out. Try again.

My account settings show the following for my outgoing server:

Earthlink - smptauth.,earathlink.net (default)

That is the same as my home computer -- which works fine.

Updating my Thunderbird program via download did no good.

It has been one year, and you still have not fixed the multiselect functionality that was ruined with your Supernova "update" (which is worse in almost all aspects btw). Can you at least tell us WHEN you plan to release the fix since you locked the comments to block the countless negative ones? Is it so hard for your UX team to understand that removing multiselect functionality is like removing Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V and set the correct priority???

1. For years, I would email stories from the NYTimes to my Google mailbox. Each email contains a link to the online story. 2. Next, I would download the emails via Thunderbird to my desktop. I would open the emails and click on the link when ready to read the story on line and I would be taken to the correct page on nytimes.com 3. Beginning about a month ago, while the links are "live" (blue) and work as intended when I view them on Gmail, they are no longer any good (not live, not blue) after downloading and opening the messages on Thunderbird.

Q. Does anyone know for sure what happened with Thunderbird that would cause this to happen?

Since a week or two, Thunderbird displays all emails, in all accounts, in all boxes (in, sent, drafts, deleted, etc) as dating from "June". An email received 1 March 2024 is dated 01.06.2024; the previous email (of 29 February 2024) is displayed as 29.06.2024 (see screenshots). I have emails form "31.06.2024", "31.06.2023", "31.06.2022", and so on. It continues through all emails, down to the oldest one I am keeping of 25 October 2013, displayed as 25.06.2013.

When I open a mail in a separate tab or window, the same 'June' date is there. The correcte data information is not lost: I can still correctly sort my emails on date and when I forward an email, it contains the corrected date.

The problem persisted after update to the latest version (115.9.0). Mac Monterrey 12.7.3.

I am new to Thunderbird and WANT to like it, but TB is making it difficult. I am a Mac user and have to stay at Mavericks (10.9). Installed TB (52.4.0). Configured 22 email accounts for various businesses and needs. So far it looks to be working fine after I spent a LOT of time configuring, tweaking, etc... as I am sure many long-time TB users have done. Using a unified account view so all messages are on one screen.

What is frustrating is that it looks like there is only one global setting for notifications. Not at the account level. I have noticed that since installation that the sounds for audio alerts is not consistently triggering for new incoming emails. Sometimes I get the sound for an account then the next email, no sound. Now, the visual indicator looks to be firing all the time consistently but it disappears quickly. But on the Mac it only animates the TB icon in the dock once. Not until you access the application. So the animation is pretty pointless like this.

Being on a Mac I know that the badge notifications can be turned on/off at the OS level under the system settings for the notifications bar. To show the number of new messages on the TB icon on the dock. Also, I can turn on the default audio for notifications using the same process but as Mac users know that is the goofy "farting frog" basso sound for ALL system notificaitons. So I do not have that set for TB in the notifications settings. Just the badge count option and let TB control audio notifications.

If TB has the setting to control the incoming audio then why is it not firing all the time? Again, it is not for a specific account. Might not work then 30 minutes later it does....then the next incoming notice doesn't work. Very frustrating.

Linux TB31.0 Not aware of this problem in prior issues! Problem occurs when starting to type receipient in "To" box. Have "Home Address Book" no "Personal Address Book" no "Collected Addresses". Should I export and rename "Home Address Book" then import it back in as "Personal Address Book" to be properly recognized by the auto-completion "To" entry?

HELP HELP HELP Duplicates continue to be generated as of latest Thunderbird Version 115.6.1. Final Solution?? Running on my MacOS Ventura 13.6.3 (22G436). Fully updated and kept as my babe!! Same as my Thunderbird. Using the [**Remove duplicates...**] official tool to fix it, but continues to appear always after some time.

Use a lot of dayly maintenance on my mails, creating _new-folders_ continuously and moving mails depending on subjects as needed. Continuously maintaining, Always _empty-trash_ followed immediately by _compact-folders_ Always try to do weekly backups.

Duplicates Still never ended since so long been reported!! Any way to fix the issue once and forever??

Do not need/want to suffer a complete platform crash on my loved mailer. Would be a complete disaster. Obviously I keep on backing up once per week.
