In the bookmarks sidebar (Win 10 PC), when using "search bookmarks" and after typing an entry to locate, I thought that there used to be a "button" (x) in the far right of the search field that would clear any entry and return the view of bookmarks in the sidebar to that which was displayed prior to the search.

Has something changed or was I just imagining this.

If my rampant imagination is at work, please consider this a feature request

Thanks

Hello - Firefox Bookmarks are wonderfully intuitive and hardly need the well written instructions. However, in Manage Bookmarks, I search and find the Bookmark I want but can't see or find which folder it's in. Thus I can't sort it or move it to another folder. A column in search results showing Folder would be fabulous!

I only use Firefox as my PC browser. I always run in private mode, so all cookies etc are deleted. I have about 100 login passwords saved, but use a FF primary password. The PC is protected at startup with the standard pin code. I never save personal data such as credit card details or addresses. Can I be confident that if I take the PC to a repair shop and leave it there it will be safe? Is there anything else I can do to make things more secure in the event of repair, or PC being stolen?

I also have MS Edge on the PC (can't seem to delete it) but all personal data is deleted.

Thanks in advance.

Hi There, I am not able to access my gmail account on FF. It keeps defaulting to an old employment email that I have no access to.

This happens if I type "gmail.com" into the FF web-browser OR if I click on the pinned Thumbnail in a new window with FF. This issue means that I have to use another (different) browser and I want to use FF due to the integrity of the site and the mission is stands for.

How do I remove the "old" email so that I can log into my gmail using FF?

Can anyone help me resolve this issue? - thank you, Kate

Tried to reply to your email. It has not return. Here is a copy of report you requested. It is different from what you sent me.

> Task: invalidateCaches - Unable to invalidate caches > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: originFrecencyStats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.

I still have no bookmarks. I have restarted the computer a number of times. I also renamed the places.sqlite adding a 1 after places as it said in other directions. I have also refreshed.

Yesterday, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled after receipt of your response. It said all cookies, history, bookmarks etc transferred successfully. However, I keep getting the message “ and Bookmarks and history systems will not be functional because one of Firefox’s file is in use by another application. Some security software can cause the problem. I use McAfee, I’ve always used it. I have not changed it.

I did not do anything with favicon file as I don’t know what to do, I understand you can delete that. If there is a list of more than one, then what do I do.

As I indicated, I an NOT a technical person.

Please advise.

Thanks.

I use the sidebar to see my bookmarks on the left side of the screen. When using the Search bookmarks box there used to be an X on the right side to clear the search setting. That X is now gone which means I now have to close & reopen Bookmarks to clear the box. I believe this issue started with version 93 but I can't say for sure if it worked in version 92.

This problem started with an update a couple months ago. Each bar is about 4 pixels wide and appears only on the right, left, and bottom edges of the browser window. They persist when the window is full size or smaller, but disappear on f11. The bars are completely unresponsive. Clicking or resizing the window doesn't seem to work inside of them. Even though the top of the window has no visible bar, there is still an unresponsive region like the other three sides and approximately 4 pixels of empty space.

When it comes to color, the bars spend about 50 percent of the time as white and 50 percent as the same gray that Firefox's dark mode uses. I wasn't able to get a screenshot when the bars were gray, but I was able to screenshot the top right and left corners when the bars were white, which I have attached.

It appears as if there are buttons of some sort poking out on the top right and left corners. If I had to guess, the top right icon looks like the "x" button on a Windows 7 window, and the top left icon looks like the red dot in the uppermost corner of a macOS window. My machine has only ever run Windows 10, and Firefox is the only application that this problem occurs in.

Restarting, using troubleshooting mode, manually removing extensions and themes, messing around with compatibility settings, running as administrator, refreshing Firefox, and reinstalling Firefox have all been unsuccessful. It really is annoying to live with this bug.
