I would like to do this without extensions. Is there a built-in way to do this? Currently I have to use an extension for this ("Open Tabs Next to Current"), but I have read some hints on this forum, where they said that you do not need extensions for this anymore, and you can do this only through about:config. But how??? Screenshot below:

I've received 0 responses from 4 days ago when I posted that since the update to 90.0.2 there are portions of the home page and web pages that block out periodically. I ran Firefox in safe mode and the problem disappeared, I performed a refresh of Firefox and restarted my machine. The blocking or as one other person described it as shadowing still happens but not as bad. I wasn't having any problems with the 2 previous versions at all so I would like to know if something is going to be done about this? Is anyone else having the same problem as I am. I haven't any extensions running, I turned off hardware acceleration so what else can I do?

Hi,

I noticed that when I open a specific site, the tabs bar becomes huge, and when I close it, the bar goes back to its normal height. For example, it happens when I go to this page: Problematic Site

I have no idea why it happens. I remember that it did happen before, but I only noticed now that it has something to do with having some specific pages loaded. So I know it has happened because of some other sites, but I don't remember which ones.

Even if I change the tab, the tab bar stays big, as long as the problematic page is loaded (even on the background).

This also happens in safe mode, so it's not because of my extensions, I imagine. Also happening on another laptop here.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Thanks,

Clicking on the Comments section in any ZDNet article (https://www.zdnet.com/article/) gets no response at all. The Comments section doesn't open, I'm not prompted to log in -- nothing. The cursor does change from the default arrow to a hand with pointed finger, as usual, and the Comments bar color flashes as it should when I click on it -- but that's the limit of interaction. I've tested the link with Chrome and Bing and the function still works there, but not in Firefox, and apparently hasn't since about the 26th of July. What's going on, and how can this problem be addressed?

The German word concoction "Verschlimmbessern" which translates into "constantly 'improving' something until it actually becomes worse or dysfunctional".

I'm at a point now where we all give up on Firefox as these constant updates and uncalled and not requested changes not only become annoying but also introduce new dysfunctionality. (just like Windows 10 updates)

Too many to list here. but this job securing through constant new updates and changes gets very annoying.

Now the search feature has changed into some absurdity having to be in the address bar. We don't need that we don't want that! we wanted like it is and always was before.

Searching support I found answers but applying them does not work: "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" change to false Search "keyword.enabled" change to false Search "browser.fixup.alternate.enabled" change to false browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus change to false browser.urlbar.update1 change to false browser.urlbar.update1.interventions change to false browser.urlbar.update1.searchTips change to false

About to uninstall this nonsense altogether and install an old version again or better yet just give up on it and find another browser! I need a reliable browser that works and not something that annoys me after every update.

Good morning! I am from Poland and I know very little English. Therefore, I will translate my problem through Google translator. I log in to my bank using a masked password. Firefox keeps showing me a balloon with a suggestion to create its password and remember it. Is it possible to somehow disable this option on this particular page, because it bothers me a lot, instead of helping me.

As the title says, almost all of my bookmarks have completely disappeared without any warning. I didn't update firefox, restart it, or anything. I have no idea why this happened, as firefox has been working perfectly all day long, and only after i left my computer for an hour or two, did i come back to the terrifying sight that all of my nearly 630 bookmarks have fully vanished into thin air.

Oddly enough, i still have one folder, and a few seemingly random bookmarks left over, as to where the rest of them went, i have no idea.

I've attempted to restart firefox, log out, log back in, disable extensions, and more. The first thing i tried was to use the restore option, however when i click it, it simply says "unable to process file". Out of all the backups available to me, including a nearly year and half old one from an Old Firefox Data folder i had on my desktop, none of them work.

I also checked underneath profiles, and i saw that i had one more profile than i should, however when using said profile, it has absolutely zero of the bookmarks, so that's a no go.

I really can't wrap my head around what could've caused this or how to rectify it, and im sort of panicking at the idea of years upon years of bookmarks just disappearing at the drop of a hat.

My only solace is that it appears my mobile (ios) firefox app appears to have all of the bookmarks still saved and accessible, but i can't find any way to transfer those bookmarks onto browser.

Any help would be enormously appreciated

Hey everyone!

I had a quick, and maybe weird, question to ask... is there any way to have two separate bookmark folders that are complete mirrors of each other? For example, if I added a bookmark to one folder, then the other folder would also have the bookmark added to it.

I sure hope the answer is yes! haha. It would really help my bookmark organization OCD! :D

Thanks everyone!

Since last weekend or thereabouts (17 July 2021) my Firefox on the 3 devices/platforms I use (see title) is not connecting to a specific website. Edge connects and is usable.

There is no error message, the screen in the tab remains blank and the activity indicator stops after a few seconds.

The website address is https://colony.litopia.com . The website is functioning and I have just used it, loaded images etc using Edge - I am a writer and use it every day, usually LOL.

All the other sites I use are ok, as is the main domain https://litopia.com . The hyperlink from the parent to the subdomain also hangs in the same way. I have spokent to other users of the site and they say it is ok, although it is noted as usually being a very slow site.

I have tried connection via cellphone router and wired broadband from different physical locations. Firefox troubleshooting not reporting any errors.

I use adblock on Win10 and Linux and have tried disabling that. FB container only on win 10. All platforms are up to date with Firefox. 90.0.2. I believe the issue arose when I went to 90.0

I haven't shared my data because the devices are disparate.

Comments appreciated, thanks.

I don't know if its an issue with the theme or Firefox itself (I think it's Firefox because it already happened on previous versions), but when I open certain number of tabs, or a tab with certain characteristics that I don't know, the whole row of tabs increases its height. And it annoys me. Thanks beforehand!
