Before Firefox updated to 6, my user ID's and passwords that I had saved or ask the website to remember were always available. If I shut off the browser and later started a new session, my ID's were still on the website when I went to them. After yesterday's, 8/31/2011, update to 6, when I close the browser after a session, the ID's and passwords are gone and must be re-entered. This happens only when I'm surfing as a 'standard' user. If I surf the web as an administrator, all my saved info is still there.

I have the latest Firefix update, and I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. It's annoying, specifically for games because I have to make sure the cursor is to the right (by a certain amount) of the item I wish to click. This issue is only in Firefox, I have tried in Internet Explorer *shudder* and there is no problem, I do not have any web browsers currently installed.

Most Windows applications let you open files on the disk. They use a set of menu conventions that have been around since at least windows 3.0 back in the early 90s. What does MOZILLA do? Oh, lets throw all of that out the Window (pun intended) and leave you this vestige "Firefox" tab that you can pull down a tiny minority of those menu item.

So back to my original question: Where the fuck is the FILE-> OPEN menu?

I want to check a file on the hard disk attached to my PC. Guess what? I can't Maybe you made the menu so blindingly obvious that a software engineer with 30 years of programming experience like me just can't see the forest for all those pesky trees. I have no clue. So am I supposed to put the path into my URL window? That's easier than "File -> Open?" WTF Mozilla?

In older versions of Firefox I could right click on a URL and then select "Open Link in new Window" and a new window would open to display the information. In newer versions, V5 or later, if I select "Open Link in New Tab" the new information will be displayed in a new tab, if I click on "Open Link in New Window" all I get is a new window with two blue bars across the top a "New Tab" and an empty window, no information is displayed.

When I ran Firefox the second time a tab containing the firefox plug-in assistant was on top. The first thing on that tab was to update the Adobe Flash player. I did this and during the installation Flash player required that I close Firefox. When I restarted Firefox the plugin assistant tab was not there.

I noticed that there were several plugins that needed to be updated. I would like to find that tab or the plug-in assistant.
