I have a problem opening some sites, specially it is for example a login form. What happens is that the page loads but when I try to click on the the first field to fill it Firefox does nothing and if I do the same 2-3 times eventually ends up displaying the "(Not Responding)" message on the title bar and nothing happens for about 10 sometimes 15 seconds until the page finishes loading and then I can fill the form field normally. This happens for example when I try to enter my online banking, or login into Paypal via the popup window at ebay, to name some. Also some other pages that don't have any forms seem to also cause this initial delay in being able to interact with the page, for scrolling down, clicking a link, etc. It feels like when there are scrips on the page being loaded, the problem happens, but I cannot be 100% sure that is what might actually be going on.
If I disable all the AddOns by starting Firefox in Safe Mode the problem goes away and pages load normally in the sense that I can fill the form field almost immediately without having to wait. But when I go back into normal mode with AddOns reenabled, and then proceed to manually disable ALL my AddOns, the problem still continues to happen. So I am assuming there must be something else the Safe Mode also affects besides the AddOns, and that seems to be causing the problem I am having with the slow load of pages mostly with forms.
For a bit of context, this problem started happening some months ago, out of the blue as I am pretty sure it did not start to happen immediately after something new was installed or some FF settings where changed/tweaked. Basically things where fine and the suddenly I started noticing the problem, but as usual one tends to first think it might be due to a temporary Internet speed hiccup, and so on, but eventually realizes that something definitively had changed permanently for the worst. And that is where I am now, and have been for a few months already. Very frustrating.
Hope someone here can give me some answers, primarily what encompasses to go into Safe Mode, which seems to solve the issue, but what else besides AddOns being disabled is also affected? Perhaps any custom user settings in About:Config are also temporarily reversed?
Thanks in advance for any information

Hi, We were able not to display the url bar and the panelUI with firefox 68ESR but we are not able to reproduce the same display with firefox ESR 78.3.1. We are using mozilla.cfg to set browser.uiCustomization.state not to display urlbar-container in the nav-bar. We are setting a userChrome.css with those lines :
#urlbar, #urlbar * { display: none !important } #PanelUI-fxa-status { display: none !important } #PanelUI-menu-button { display: none !important }
But they are still here. Everything I can find on the topic is not related to the last version. Any idea to help us ?

Today I see that FB fails to load my profile photo album. I get a spinning circle, description and comments section to the right is blank (or photo loads but no description). I check my connection activity, it's basically at 10 kbps. I run some speed tests, no problem.
So I go to MS Edge, everything on FB loads in an instant.
So the problem is FF. And that's on top of the 50%-100% of CPU that every click on FB produces. I compared it with Edge, 5%-50% of CPU.
So before I give up on FF and switch to Edge, can someone recommend another version of FF that is relatively lightweight for a low spec laptop? The latest version is a no go, as I understand it needs at least 8-16 GB of memory (!).
Thank you.

I figured it was high time I installed a more current extended release of Firefox while keeping the current extended release version I have which I need in order to keep certain extensions, like the MAFF format, working.
But when I went to install it (custom install) into its own folder with a different version name, the button which showed up said "upgrade" instead of "install." I DO NOT want this installation to overwrite that earlier version. But that "upgrade" button makes me think that is what is likely to happen. How do I install it without it overwriting the older extended release version I already have installed?
On a different topic, I have learned that Flash will be discontinued at the end of this month. Can anyone tell me how this will impact my browsers? My online banking site uses Flash extensively, and I prefer using Firefox for that site. I'm assuming Chrome, which keeps updating itself automatically no matter what I do to stop it, will accommodate the change. But if I want to keep using that older extended release version of Firefox I have, what is likely to happen?
Thank you,
Dandelion
As above. Just tell me the steps one by one please. I only ask miracles from God so I don't want to ask you too much out of your ken!
