There was a Firefox 3.6 installed on the G5 by a friend, but my profile was not installed. To be sure of compatibility, I trashed the Firefox 3.6 and copiedFirefox 3.5.6 from the G3 (where it runs fine) to the G5. I also copied my profile. On the G5, I had moved the Firefox icon onto the dock. I checked finder and there is only one application of Firefox on the G5 hard drive. Just now I started the G5; when I had finder, I clicked on the Firefox application on the dock. A message opened saying: Close Firefox. A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time.

I think I asked this question months ago but never got an answer.

Firefox wants to remember my password for YouTube. But it wants to remember it on the Google.com website.

When I do it that way, it ties together Google and YouTube in ways I don't prefer.

I want to keep Google and YouTube as separate as possible.

Therefore I want to find someway to get Firefox to remember my YouTube password on YouTube.com--not Google.com.

How do I do this?

I ask for Firefox to remember it this way because I notice when I look at my current password list that all of them seem to be remembered on the names of their websites (for example: my ebay password is asked by Firefox to be remembered at ebay.com).

I need to export my bookmarks from Firefox to Opera and cannot locate "organize bookmarks" in the bookmark sectioin.

When I go to check the history, I can see every site that was checked today or yesterday. Is there a way to check exactly what time of day these sites were looked at?

I went to see if I could select the corresponding plugin, but I didn't have a choice, except to pick the QT plugin. Does Firefox just automatically go by what my default player is? Cuz to tell you the truth, I never use QT, nor have I ever set up QT to be the default player for anything really. I appreciate any and all info you can provide.

I now have version 3.6 you want me to update to 3.6.11 but when I do I lose my file,edit,view,history,bookmarks,tools and so on. they just disappear. can you help?

Ok, my roommate actually pointed this out a few minutes ago but that's beside the point. Whenever I go to a website that's not my homepage, it is formatted like I was searching on my mom's blackberry. Like Youtube in example. Instead of the current look, I have a white back-round, all "buttons" are gray with black lettering, everything is moved into a single column on the left most side of the screen, and each video picture is about 200x300 pixels. Every hyperlink is blue and looks like it would in an email. I would have a picture link to photobucket, or paste it here, but the browser wont let me upload anything to photobucket. If anyone can help in anyway, it would be awesome!!!!

I attempted to down load the 5 and 6 version at separate times. Both times I got an error message that stated I did not have permission to install the program. I own the computer and am the sole user. I am working on a Macbook Air. I have never encountered this issue before when updating Firefox. I am presently using the 3.5.6 edition and some of my sites are not supporting that edition anymore. Can you tell me what this error message means? I also have not been receiving the update messages for the new editions of Firefox.

I still have all the menu options at top... (ex:File, Edit, View...ect) Looks like old version, Under Help it says version 6, yet when I open it, it states I am not updated..

when I am in Safari on my Imac,I often bookmark websites in firefox. I want to organize these bookmarks in folders or categories, ie all airlines in 1 group. How can I do that. I called apple tech support and they were of no help.

As soon as I open the firefox it connects to the internet and window gets restart,I have xp installed. Few days before I took one broadband connection, please provide me some solution , same thing with IE also.

The URL of the bookmark will have changed for no apparent reason, and it seems to be some random site that I have recently visited and never wanted bookmarked. I have only noticed this happening with bookmarks in the toolbar, and they are still labeled the same, but take me somewhere else when clicked on.
