One of my Verizon/aol email accounts stopped receiving or sending mail on Thursday. I've removed the account from Thunderbird and am trying to reload it. It hangs up on password verification. I am able to use the password to access the account through webmail. I've been able to remove and re-add a different Verizon/aol email account with no problem.

Any ideas?

Hello I recently dropped outlook for Thunderbird in my WIN10 installation. I also have Thunderbird running in my Ubuntu 20.04 install. Both OS run on the same machine but on different drives. Today I was cleaning up my email in the Ubuntu environment. I added multiple folders under my Inbox. I figured that I would need to list all of the folders in the WIN10 Thunderbird instance, but when I rebooted into WIN10, I found Thunderbird already had the folders with email contents installed. Is this because my email is IMAP? In other words, I cannot figure how the two separate Thunderbird installs were synchronized.

I currently use gmail via my Gsuite account. I'm considering installing Thunderbird as a backup and to use when I'm traveling and need to be offline. If I like it I may use it as my primary email client.

I currently get my gmail via POP but some instructions say to change it to IMAP. Is that necessary and what are any downsides to doing so?

Thanks.

After last update I got this message , translated from Swedish to English: "Your Firefoxprofile can´t be used. It may be lost or impossible to reach"

I have uninstalled Firefox by putting it in the dustbin and then reinstalled a new downloaded copy, but with the same result and message.

What to do?

Best regards

I keep getting asked to put mozilla on my phone... I don't have a smart phone - I am 60 years old and don't intend to get one.... I don't want to be pestered with things like this. If there is a button for me to pick saying don't ask again I can click it and go on my way... I am sure I am not the only person using your services that does not need all the bells and whistles...
