I'm a total newbie at this so my apologies ....

I've been using Godaddy Workspace emails for 12 years and they are closing it in a few weeks and sending us all across to Microsoft annual subscriptions . No thanks . I have a few email addresses and need to archive their inboxes/ sent items for each . They recommend Thunderbird for that . So I hooked that up for my first email account and downloaded the approx 800 emails. All good . But for the second account I downloaded the inbox emails then realised I should have deleted some first from within my Workspace account before downloading . So I deleted the downloaded emails locally in Thunderbird so I could re-download it all . So I thought... But now all it does is say "No New Messages" ...no matter what I do .

How can I get Thunderbird to start afresh ?

I even deleted Thunderbird with Revo Uninstaller including all items , but when I reinstalled Thunderbird it still said "No New Items" ( obviously Revo didn't get all left over items ) I even tried making the second Workspace Email my main Thunderbird Identity Makes no difference ...it won't pick up the existing Workspace emails anymore, all it's doing is checking for new ones only . So now what ?

How do I start again with Thunderbird ? I'm finding this totally confusing .

TB 91.0.3 and Big Sur/incomplete load

TB opens but only to a shell (can't see mailboxes etc.). Selecting main menu items (e.g, TB>Preferences) produces no result (meaning, I can't open the preferences). I am not getting any error msgs. I have disabled TB access to Mac address book, also booted in safe mode (incl. from command line in terminal).

I was previously running TB on Catalina. I have installed 91.0.3 three separate times on Big Sur.

I suppose TB is trying and failing to find&load my old mailboxes etc. If I go to Get Msgs in main window, I can see my old accounts. Clicking on them produces no result though. If I go to the Message menu, I can drill down and see the pointers to local folders, but obviously can't access them (or actually move anything, as no inboxes appear).

I can compose a new msg, but the From dropdown is empty and I cannot send. Attach does not work.

In short, TB loads, but there is essentially nothing I can do with it.

Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

I have filters working on account A. Messages are filtered to the correct folders. However, all the same messages are being downloaded into the Inbox of account B. I think I must have something wrong with the configuration of account B but I don't know how to fix it. Is it safe to try to associate account B local directory to a different local directory? Other suggestions?

I have to keep reinstalling everything and losing most of my files in the process. I'm tired of trying to talk to Microsoft because they don't care. Is Windows going to be better or should I just get rid on my computer? I have lost all of my Architectural Specifications and closed down my business. Microsoft doesn't care and tells me to go someplace else if I don't like their Programs. I would someone to show me how to fix this mess.

Upgrade failure

I upgraded to 91.1.2 today and have been unable to open the program since. The program opens and I am asked to sign into Google for calendar sync but this window does not respond. Also the Preferences Tab is open which is not normal. The program hangs for about seven or eight minutes not responding and then crashes. The Crash ID is bp-96fabaaa-e5b9-4f12-841c-8a66e0210929 The program is using around 2.5 Gb of memory I have tried uninstall and reinstall but no success. I would like to go back to the old version but don't know how.
