EVERY time Firefox does an update just about everything changes for me, including my homepage, my icons for add ons are gone, now my link to my email is gone, I always wonder if I'm on the correct version or not. It says I am but what happened to all of my settings. I cannot tell you the number of times I've had to find my THEME and since there is no rhyme or reason as to how the themes are categorized it takes me forever to find the one I want. It doesn't seem to matter what settings I have entered because they are changed along with everything else. I have asked this question before and the answers I have received do not work. And another question. I do not like the background in "black" with the titles highlighted in yellow when I am searching. Very difficult for me to read, I've attempted to change that many times but can't seem to figure that out either. Oh, Lord where is Microsoft 7 when I need it? An OS that even I could figure out.

Perhaps finding the glitch in the changes that always take place after an update should be your next update.

I have had TB on my Windows laptop for many years but have used my ISP webmail on my MacBook Pro until today. I downloaded TB102 and migrated my email accounts (imap settings) so they are synchronised with my other devices. Unfortunately in each inbox a bunch of older emails are listed as today's arrivals which is problematic (see screenshot). The source data shows the correct date of receipt but the email headers are missing their dates, and it seems TB can't order them without the header date. I don't have any issue with the inbox order in my webmail or Apple Mail or TB91 on my Windows laptop.

Just to be clear, this problem is not to be confused with date display preferences.

I see this issue first being raised 18 years ago (!) so presumably it has been fixed? I cannot find anything recent about it and don't want to apply some ancient remedy without checking in first as to what is the correct course of action now. Grateful for any help (in layman's speak please).

Updated to TB 1.0.2 on MacOS 12.4 and default profile folders failed to display on startup. Folders do display in troubleshooting mode. All add-ons are disabled and using default theme. TB can receive and send messages, and see account settings. Just does not display icon toolbar (left) or any folders. Also updated to 1.0.2b1 to see if that worked, thinking I could back down to 1.0.2. Duh,,,

I try to 'Import' my gmail settings from MailBird (which I hate but it works) into Thunderbird, BUT when I, in 'account settings' , choose to Import, the next screen (on my W10Pro64) has no way for me to re-size it : so the very bottom of your page isn't avail to me to click on any "Accept" or "Yes" or whatever IS the next link to continue the process of actually Importing any settings from any other email client. I've been a happy Tbird customer for decades .. so this is very frustrating, and is a consequence of Google makine some change in their " IMAP " settings structure ..

HELP me please !!! thanks, JON Anderson MD tkjtkj@gmail.com

Hi

I exported emails from tutanota in .eml file format. When I dragged them into Thunderbird, I noticed a few didn't seem to open properly. They open fine in Outlook so the .eml file does not seem corrupt on the face of it and even in Notepad++ it decodes the message body when I right click to decode that section. Any ideas? I can send a sample .eml or upload it here if there is a way. Thank you.

Hi - I have been using Thunderbird for many years. I decided to try Thunderbird snap, so I installed it. Then I uninstalled it. When it was uninstalling, it copied all my saved emails to somewhere. Somewhere on the internet, I think. I still have all my saved emails on my computer, but I would like to delete them from wherever they were copied. How can I do this? Thank you.

My PC had a sudden and total crash just recently and left me no option but to wipe the drive and do a clean install of everything.

After I had put Windows 11 back on plus other software, I reinstalled Thunderbird as well.

However it will only download emails from the reinstallation date and nothing prior.

Any advice on how to rectify this?

Is there perhaps something in SETTINGS that I need to look at?

I have numerous email accounts with Thunderbird (78.14.0 (64-bit)) on a Macintosh desktop running OS X EL Capitan v.10.11.6.. One of the IMAP accounts doesn't download my emails, but the other 3 do from the same ISP. I've spoke to them and they haven't changed any settings.. Where are the server account information stored in the profile / registry in windows

My setup

Portable Thunderbird
Running from : \portable\thunderbird
Profile Directory: My Documents\Emails
Windows 10 Home
Message Accounts: Multiple approx. 10
Message Mode : IMAP

Unfortunately I had an issue with windows that broke my main drive, and seemed not to be recoverable even after a repair, I got a fresh new drive, and reset windows from scratch.

I know I had a copy of the thuderbird profile \My documents\emails

I can still see my intact imap folder in "My documents" , but I cant figure out where thunderbird saves the multiple server connection setups.

Can someone give me an idea, I understand there might not be the password for each server saved in the same place. That is not an issue, I just want to bring the imap folders across, rather than download all the data, and the place where the server details are stored, to ensure a backup of this data , to speed up the new rebuild .

Many thanks

Hi there, I am wondering how to create a launcher shortcut for the newest version of Thunderbird in Fedora/Gnome. I have downloaded the file, extracted it, and I am able to run Thunderbird from the executable. However, I'd like to have Thunderbird accessible from the launcher (gnome desktop). I can't find instructions for this for the latest version. (The newest version of Thunderbird is not available in the software centre nor by dnf install. I can only get version 91 by those methods). If there is a way to install the latest version by terminal, i would do that.

I am trying to migrate all my old emails and especially folders to Thunderbird from Roundcube. I downloaded Thunderbird and it seems like my inbox transferred over without any problems. However, I have a lot of folders that I have set up on Roundcube that I really need to keep.

Is there a way to transfer them to my new installation of Thunderbird? They have data in them that I must keep for years to come.

Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Respecfully,

Ron Elliott

System Linux Vanessa 64 bit, hard wired to a server Issue with a known PW ,settings are set to default for TB POP3 995, 547 IMAP is not allowed - but tried anyway with incoming port 993

TB will begin setup normally but will not go beyond 'checking PW' then times out with a message to check PW and user name or setup

In trying Mailspring, the same 'type' error occurs with a note of ssl error 6

The client is q.com ( CenturyLink) and I can ,via Firefox, go to centurylink.net and get my email

Purging and re-installing TB from synaptic or terminal does not help

I've used TB for years and up to last week email was functioning.

Suggestions ??

Earlier today I downloaded 102.1.2 from the website. I installed it and everything was gone. No accounts, no folders with my saved emails. So I tried overlaying the profiles with backups I created at the beginning of the month. When I launched 102.1.2 after that, I was told those profiles were incompatible and I had to set up from scratch all my folders & accounts. So I then re-installed a prior version, 91.12.0. This time I was told a newer version had set up different profiles and again, I had to start from scratch to set up Thunderbird. I'm curious how/why this happened. Can anyone enlighten me?

As it turns out, I was able to restore a system image taken last week and can run Thunderbird 91.12.0 fine. But until I can gain some understanding how to migrate to whatever new structure is in place and keep all my accounts and saved emails, I can't see updating Thunderbird any more which likely means I'll have to find another email client when I finally move to Windows 11. Hate to do that; I've been using Thunderbird for going on 20 years now. Again, can anyone enlighten me as to how I can successfully migrate my settings and saved emails to the new Thunderbird?

Any enlightenment will be appreciated!!
