For the last week or so I've been having an intermittent problem when I log into my AMEX screen. The saved password does not always show up. I would normally left click the password field and the password would show, however for the last week or so I'm having to right click to get the "fill password" prompt. I clean cookies and cache regularly and I even deleted the saved AMEX cookie(s) and resaved them again. Sometimes it works as it should other times it does not as described above. I've not seen this problem with other web sites. The usually left click to populate the password field. No problems with the user name field. That populates automatically. I look forward to anyone's comments. Thanks

Good morning,

I am running Firefox 78.0.1 on a Macbook with Catalina 10.15.5

I am in the process of implementing PayPal smart buttons. In my testing, the PayPal payments work with Safari and Chrome, but not Firefox. Specifically, when I click on the PayPal button from Firefox the PayPal payment window pops up but closes within a second or two.

After working with PayPal we were able to resolve the issue by turning off a parental filter. While this filter didn't effect the other two browsers, it did seem to effect Firefox. Once the filter was disabled and I reloaded Firefox, the PayPal payment worked as expected.

The parental filter is set within OSX's Screen Time. I believe utilizing a parental filter isn't unreasonable, especially if you have kids, so I am trying to find a solution. I certainly don't know if this is a Firefox or PayPal issue, but it feels like an issue to me.

I'm working with PayPal to see if they are able to resolve this issue. I am now reaching out to the Firefox community with the hopes of suggestions. Any thoughts or guidance will be appreciated.

Hello. As the title states, themes don't seem to be working as they should. If I apply the theme, and it changes the tab bar, and it will change the home page as it should. After I close and then re-open Firefox, however, the home page goes back to being un-themed, despite (as far as I can tell) everything else that should be affected by the theme still being themed. I am using the official dark theme that comes with the browser, and the only extensions that I have that should affect it are Dark Reader and Firefox Color, though the problem still occurs with them disabled. My other extensions are listed in the "Installed Plugins" part. The issue seems to happen on both Kubuntu and Windows. Thank you for reading. EDIT: I tried without Color, and it worked. I think it was applying an old theme I made on Color that looked like the dark theme but with a white start page. Sorry for the mistake on my end.

Hi everyone,

I am working on linux Ubuntu 8.3.0, with the last version of Firefox 68.10.0esr-1.

It seems that the italic fonts are not displayed on my Firefox browser. I have made a test with another browser and the italics font are displayed (picture attached). I have already tried to re-start, re-install, etc...

Any idea of what could be the problem?

Cheers,

I'm using Windows 10 and just updated to Firefox 78.0.1 last night. Normally, when I open a new tab, I push the down arrow key to bring up my browser history and access my most-used sites. Upon updating last night, I discovered that I can no longer do this. When I press the down key, nothing happens. To get the same result I'm used to, I have to press the space bar, but I've been doing this a certain way for several years and the motion is completely ingrained in me. If I turn Top Sites back on in the options, the drop-down list will open upon pressing the down key, but that of course only brings up the Top Sites. That's not what I want. I tried rolling back to the previous version, 77.0.1, but that didn't fix anything. If I create a new profile, the problem persists. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I know it sounds like an extremely minor issue, and maybe that's true, but I just want to use my browser the way I like using it. I'd appreciate any help/input.

Also, I suppose I should mention that I didn't make any changes to my preferences prior to this issue.

After a recent update "Search in Yandex" showed up as a pinned suggestion in the address bar. This annoying POS shows only if a non yandex search engine set as default and removes an actual top site I use. Deleting "browser.newtabpage.pinned {"url":"https://yandex.com","label":"@яндекс","searchTopSite":true}]" does the job but doesn't restores replaced site.

To remove it correctly you have to turn on "top sites" in "home" section of settings, set new tab to "firefox home", open new tab unpin yandex from top sites and finally revert settings back to your liking.

P.S. I actually use yandex occasionally but I definitely don't need it showed down my throat (I can install YandexBrowser for that. It runs on blink so sites are showed as developers intended, use less ram, don't freeze randomly, opens faster (preloads on boot) and, check this, latest version runs on windows XP no problem). And if I want to f-about in settings of settings to change something as trivial as search suggestions I might as well use chromium. P.P.S. BTW with this update mozilla also managed to f-up search bar in a way I can't even comprehend. If I click on a site from suggestions and open a new fast enough url of a site I clicked on translates to a new tab but if I wait a bit and then open a new tab address bar is empty. (PScreen included)

Sorry for my bad runglish. Have a great day or whatever

Hello. The screenshot option in my browser is not working. The small scissors icon beside "Take a screenshot" is missing and the button doesn't work. It should be mentioned I recently installed Firefox in a new Windows 10 laptop and this problem is occurring particularly in this laptop. Is the Snipping Tool disabling the screenshot option in Firefox? Is so how do I solve this problem?

Hi, I hope this message finds the right people. I think my Firefox Dev Edition has been updated recently and ever since this pop-up about remembering my choice of default browser keeps coming up every time I open the browser. It doesn't matter how many times I confirm Firefox for my default browser. The pop-up keeps prompting me. I might not be the only one encountering this issue or rather a bug.

I haven't made any changes to my display settings, but after the latest Firefox update (July, 2020) my bookmarks toolbar font size got way smaller and there's no setting to adjust it back. I do not want to make my webpage font size bigger, just the bookmarks toolbar font. It is infuriating to have this change take place without me specifically doing anything and I should not have to download an add-on or extension to fix this (nor should I have to do some weird about:config thing that someone else posted; that makes zero sense to me and is potentially dangerous).

What the heck happened with the most recent update and why are there no controls to adjust toolbar font size in the preferences!?!?!?!?

In Manage Data, I can see which cookies are used by which sites. If I want to sign in to a specific site automatically while still generally deleting cookies when I turn off Firefox, then I need to list all the cookies used by that site in Manage Permissions as Allow. This is easy regarding sites that use cookies all with pme common domain, since you just enter the one domain name. Today I wanted to preserve cookies from a major newspaper, but I find at least five domain names in the cookies that I have to protect in order to enable auto sign-in for that one site. My suggestion is that there be some improved method for easily 'transfering' (rather than writing down and re-keying) selected cookie domains from Manage Data to Manage Permissions, instead of having to rekey them and make errors doing that. If I want to auto sign-in to 15 sites, but keep the controls set for deleting unprotected cookies when closing Firefox, I would have to enter perhaps 75 domains by hand. An alternative might be a column in Manage Cookies whereby I could check mark a cookie, thereby transfering it to show in Manage Permissions, perhaps as defaulting to Allow for Session. Then I could review them and if desired switch each to Allow.

I was trying to stop websites from reloading pages automatically so i setted: accessibility.blockautorefresh = true and browser.meta_refresh_when_inactive.disabled =true. Now many websites when loading , shows at the top of the page a warn strip: " Firefox prevented this page from automaticaly reloading " , and also there is an "allow" button. In the older Firefox versions it was a preference in about:preferences#advanced page: " warn me when websites try to redirect or relod the page " and i was kept it unticked , but now i can't find it. Is there any way to keep stopping websites from auto reloading , but not shown this annoying warn ?

Somehow the sessionstore just showed a blank tab, but (if opened with a text editor) the sessionstore file containts the complete session (even the latest tabs) but its not possible to recover from that. If you for example open 5 tabs and then close firefox (and wait 2 minutes and check in the task-manager that its closed) and then deleting everything in the 'sessionstore-backups' folder and then starting firefox, then the 5 tabs are there again. I have made backups the moment firefox was not working anymore, but firefox seems to anyhow not load them (have multiple recovery files saved after first problems, instantly). I got the folder from about:support 'open directory' but i'm using Linux (Linux Mint 19 - Firefox 77.0.1). Maybe sessions are saved elsewhere? Firefox even inreased the data inside of them by the new 5 Tabs, so they grow in size, and if you opened it in a text editor you could search the new tabs even, as far as i remember from yesterday. Then i don't remember the order of two things from yesterday:

1. I moved some recently 'changed' files from the profile folder and then move them back (i wanted to backup, but i moved and the problem was somehow firefox was starting at the same time, it was a mistake, and then i had trouble not knowing if the preferences are still the same, and since i updated from i think 64 to 77.0.1 (i have a list of important changes) some where different, for example i would never have geolocation enabled. but others like the deleted pocket links (in about:config) are still the way they are, so i wonder. and i had multiple files in the moment

2. the sessionstore now is little (5 tabs probably), i tried to delete session store very often, i dont know if it was after this? but probably. But like i said i don't remember it.

But now the new problem. The History and Book marks file does not work, i moved them away or deleted them (of course backup before that) because this was an online tip, but the restoring thing just worked for the bookmarks, and just something between i think 1-3 days ago.

The problem now is i can't recover ANYTHING anymore. I can not really read the recovery file with a text editor, many letters are red, with the linux text editor, it says translated something like "some symbols don't work, please choose encoding" and there are many:

UTF-8 Central European (WINDOWS-1250) Unicode (UTF-16) Western (IBM-850) Unicode (UTF-7) ...

Over 50 different probably. Some even crash the program, what is the encoding for the recovery file?

There needs to be an Extension that is able to import and read broken sessionstore files, and 'places' files.

Probably i was to greedy, but i made stupid mistake accidently.
