Hello!

So this might be a very simple thing I've clearly skimmed over in the many times I've searched. Or perhaps I didn't enter the magic words into Google just that special way to get the help I desire...

I'm playing with Addon and Extentions weighing the pro's and con's of different Addons serving the same relative purpose. It's pretty irritating the method I am currently using, downloading an Addon and then going in, and then disable the one I downloaded to grab the next to avoid bad results that can arise from overlapping Addons working on the same functional area. I wanted to know if there was a means in which I could disable the automatic enabling of Addons when I add them from the default Firefox site?

I don't want to have to reconfigure my settings every time the pictures are gone. It seems silly but it just looks wrong to me and I like seeing the pictures so that I know at a glance which top site is which. How can I fix this problem of my browser not displaying the images in the top sites correctly after closing the browser? Thank you!

Up until today, my address bar had a down arrow that I could click to open the menu and select the sites I wanted. Now it's different. Now there is no down arrow and when I click on the address bar it opens a menu with a bunch of different sites that never were in there before. In fact they're the first ten of my new tab sites, which DO NOT belong in my drop down menu, and I can't delete them from the menu. I want this back the way it was.

Just upgraded to Ffox 79.0.2. Instead of the opening page offered I would like to get immediately to my bookmarks (tried to add a picture here but the "Browse" button got me nowhere...) - not after 3 or 4 clicks and not just the "most recent" or "Top list" bookmarks. This was much better in the previous version. Is there a way adjust this?

Thunderbird has a throbber in the status bar that animates when it's doing something, like checking or sending mail.

Lately my throbber has started to animate for long periods for no apparent reason. (No active tasks are shown in the activity manager.) The animation is very distracting. I've been trying to determine whether the cause might be a misbehaving add-on or mail/news server, but it's slow going as the problem is not always reproducible.

In the meantime, is there any way I can disable the throbber altogether?

Firefox v69.0 Whenever I click on one of the matches returned from a search, or click on an embedded link, Firefox forever highlights that selection even though I don't want to be reminded months later that I had looked at that site. This is irksome because I can't ever get a clean slate for doing searches. Every similar search will yield a page full of highlighted links I may have used in the past on a topic that is only tangentially related. Also, since this highlighting persists independently of clearing history it entails a severe privacy leak. If anybody who is authorized to use my machine suspects that I may have an interest in, say, pizza dough, they need only do a search for pizza dough on my machine and any link I had ever selected in the past is highlighted, from which links it can be easily determined that I have both an interest in the topic at large and what aspect of the topic in particular appeals to me.

How do I disable this "feature", please?

Yesterday all was normal. Now ist the new FireFox .. To read my paper I have to go back to Chrome !

When reading my newspaper all is in just one long file .. That is: the view is just one long column with all the article one after another ! The full width of the screen isn't used - anymore ? Also another page (more dirty) have the same issue.

A phone call with McAfee Tech support, I was told there is still an ongoing issue with Firefox and McAfee True Key and they will notify me when the issue is resolved, is this the case or are they just blowing me off, I've contacted McAfee 4 separate time for this issue of no add on for True Key. Stopped working after Firefox update about 2 weeks ago. True key works fine on Edge but I need it to work on Firefox.

Maybe this question has been questioned in the past but I cannot find anything so here I am. Is it possible to move the #window-controls(minimize/maximize/close buttons) to #nav-bar? I created a custom css that moved the nav-bar on top of the tabbar but the window-controls are in the tab-bar and it doesn't look good. I'm at my wits end on this one, so is it possible and how? See attached image for reference. Thanks!

FireFox ESR 68.11.0 - 64bit Windows 8.1

Start typing a URL in the address bar ... a search bar drops down automatically and begins searching. What is the real fix for this annoying and insecure behavior?

There are dozens if not hundreds of search posts on this topic, most are specific to a particular version of FireFox. Developers, I shudder every time I update the program because I know I will be spending hours or days on a new configuration. Apparently, developers have cleverly eliminated the settings that disable this feature.

This drop-down search bar is annoying and unnecessary. A child might find it useful. Simply put, the user should be able to turn it on or off in the "Options" section. We don't like playing with your about.config settings, or adding code. If I type an address in the URL bar, I do not want the URL searched arbitrarily. Nor do I want to see a new pop-up bar. Please make the use of these "features" optional.

Please create a new general information topic "Removing the automatic URL search" and put this topic to rest once and for all. This is an excellent argument for a paid version of FireFox. I would gladly pay for a clean program rather than waste my time tweaking every single new version.

Thank you!

I have 3 emails on Thunderbird, 2 are with Earthlink, the 3rd is a gmail account. On just 1 of my Earthlink accounts, the message is deleted after I close it. The mailto links in my website open the Thunderbird mail application as they should, but only Thunderbird only shows up as a minimized window at the bottom of my screen. When I click on it, it opens up to full screen. For readers unfamiliar with the application, it appears the link isn't working.

The html I am using for the link is: <a href="mailto:myname@mysite.com">text</a>

Is there some way to modify this to force the mailto link to open Thunderbird in a full (maximized) window.?
