I want set my new tab page to open a local file. The same local file is also used for my home page. Until recently, I used the new tab extension to do this, however that stopped working.

There are many existing posts out there regarding this, so it seems it is a desired feature. However, none of the posts are applicable to the latest configuration 119.0 (October 2023).

Is there a way to force the new tab to open a local file? Or open the home page (which is also a local file)?

Windows 11 Pro, Firefox 119.0 (64-bit)

When pressing the up arrow key with text in the URL bar, the bottom suggestion is selected, rather than returning the text cursor to the beginning. It used to place the insertion point at the very beginning of whatever text was in there, and then another up arrow press would select the bottom suggestion, but now it instantly wraps to the very bottom selection. It's quite frustrating when trying to modify a search query - now you either have to hold the left arrow key, or accurately click with the mouse

For instance, say I type "cloud" in the URL box, but figure "storm cloud" would be a better search. I can't just press the up arrow to add "storm ", because pressing the up arrow once now just replaces the entire line of text with "https://soundcloud.com/", completely ruining my search. I'm pretty sure this was recently changed with an update. Is there any hope of changing it back?

Recently my Inbox view keeps resetting View to Sort/Threaded - I can reset to Unthreaded but at some point it switches back. I think it might happen after I have been using search function where lots of emails can be displayed but Im not sure. Also it affects my wife's separate inbox even when I have only searched my own....any solution please ?

SHORT VERSION: Is it possible to make hunderbird show me, in the main window, that there is a tagged email ALSO inside a subfolder? EXPLANATION I am trying to be tidy and organised in my work emails with Thunderbird ;) Therefore I BOTH divide emails in subfolders AND flag the emails I have to postprocess but I don't have time right when I receive them. BUT I STILL HAVE TO POSTPROCESS THEM!!! However, if a flagged email is in a subfolder, Thunderbird doesn't show me that is flagged. In other words, if I want to see if there are unprocessed emails, I would have to enter each subfolder (which I don't do - so I don't postprocess the email! (angel) )

In Chrome I was able to have a home page as well as a first-up page. So, for my first-up page, I had Proton Mail for my email. Then, for my home page I had the New York Times. I'd like to be able to do the same here with Firefox, if possible.

After the 119.0 Update, the Extension Button and Panel does not allow for access directly from the toolbar--the downloaded extensions (like AdBlock, Clock) are not able to be placed on the Toolbar per the Puzzle Icon to Pin to Toolbar

When i updated Firefox just now it offered several recommended security add-ons. I added a few of them. But now I can't access Facebook. I disabled them one at a time and still cannot get in. What do I do now?

I import my local folders from my NAS unit, My Documents/mail.

The folder headings are all there, but there is no content when I click on the headings?

This does not happen in the windows 10 version?

Seeking tutorials on the rules necessary to create good looking tables in an email. such as: Can Cells be selected and combined (like in a spreadsheet) Where are any good tutorials about creating tables, etc.

I was wondering if it is possible to make the open folder of emails on the right and then the view of the emails on the right? I have it set up on "Vertical" layout and would like all of the messages to be on the right hand side of the screen, but the view of the message in the middle between "all folders" and the open message

As a user, when creating and using a saved credit card, I'd like the opportunity to provide it a nickname. This would make it easier to distinguish if multiple cards are saved. This doesn't seem to be available.

When I right click on the menu bar and choose "customize" there is a "button style" selection at the bottom of the page where one can choose to display "icons beside text", "icons above text", "icons only" or "text only" but regardless of what option I select, I only get text. I believe it was was working properly when I first updated to 115.4.1 but then quit.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Thunderbird to no avail. How can I get it working properly?

The New Tab page includes some shortcuts by default, including Amazon Search (see "@amazon" in the attached picture), which I dismissed shortly after installation. (The only options are "Pin/Unpin" and "Dismiss".)

However, I want to create such shortcut for another search engine, like https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s&iax=images&ia=images and I don't see the option - even if I set the URL to include "%s" and the name of the pinned shortcut begins with "@", as with smart keyword search and the Amazon search shortcut, respectively.

I am an advanced user and don't mind manually editing files in my profile folder (after I back it up of course).

since few years im a bit surprised by the fact, that on firefox, it's harder and harder to do the following customisation : -enable or disable javascript -enable or disable pictures of webpages

the thing is, years ago it was just a one-click setting to change, and now it's looks like to be needed either to go on nerdly-menu (about:config, and know by heart the right one), or to use an addon (that i dont want)

do you know if there is a possibility, for an offline computer (mean bye addons), without going to about:config, to enable/disable both Javascript feature, and picture of webpages?

it's the same for customised search engine : years ago it was faisable with just entering the address of a new one into the common settings, now it's looks like an addon is required.... why?!

years ago no addon nor connection was needed to : -en/disable JS -en/disable images/pictures on webpages -add/remove search engine

..why?

I would like you to stop displaying notifications of incoming emails while I'm reading my other emails. These notifications block what I'm trying to read and they are irritating and annoying.
