​I am experiencing a bug where subfolders do not appear in the "Select folder" screen. ​In the Bookmarks manager, my folders exist correctly. ​However, when I try to save a new bookmark, the "Select folder" screen only shows the root "Bookmarks" folder. ​Even if I tap the ">" icon to expand, the subfolders are not displayed. ​Device Info: ​App Version: 149.0a1 (Build #2016143751) ​OS: Android 12

A bit desperate here. Windows crashed with no chance of repairing the installation. Hard drive And all files on it are accessible. Firefox had thousands of bookmarks for a very important project.

There seems to be no Firefox profile on the drive. Searched in hidden folders as well. Certainly not where it’s supposed to be: …\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Search for all files on the drive, but there seems to be no SQLITE or JSON files related to Firefox.

Not even a folder anywhere in the drive called Mozilla or Firefox or Profiles or Profile (at least not in relation to Firefox).

There’s no file called places.sqlite or bookmarkbackups anywhere on the drive.

The drive itself seems to be in a good condition and all other files are there and accessible. The file system doesn’t seem to be corrupt And man thousands of bookmarks were there before windows crashed.

Also checked places in \Roaming\ Just in case, as sometimes it could be found there for some installations.

Nothing found anywhere so far. Seems like running out of options.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

When we are going to get Library (Bookmarks) in this Firefox view tab (which doesnt have its local URL unlike Chrome)?

Like history (finally 😌) is in new tab unlike in new window (which is forced, not user managed), we need library for bookmark manager like Chrome or Edge has inbuilt. Even passwords aka logins category would be appreciated.

I asked this same question yesterday and a little while later, the horizontal bookmarks toolbar "magically" appeared. Now the toolbar is gone again. How can I find it and get it to stay at the top of my page? (I'm an 80-year-old granny/computer-dummy.) Thanks in advance for any help.

i WAS BROWSING AND GOING THROUGH SOME OF MY FIREFOX FAVORITES AND I highlighted a FEW (NOT JUST ONE!) and clicked the delete button on accident. Is there any way of getting them back? I havent backed up a copy of them recently eitherr. Now Im all bumbed out!! :-(

Been trying to retrieved misplaced bookmark folders not bookmarks themselves in the Bookmarks Library with no success even going down several sub-levels; Would be nice if there were a search function, but will take a step-by-step solution. Thanks!

I am using the version 115.20.0esr (64-bit) and have noticed I have links in my bookmarks, that are either from other bookmark folders but I never copied them over, or I have new links that I never clicked to be saved? I have deleted those I found but some more keep popping up?

Some of my bookmarks are gone AGAIN. This time adding .old to files and deleting others did not fix the problem, nor has restarting firefox. I can see that sites have blue stars, indicating that they are saved into bookmarks (such as "weather") that I can no longer see in my bookmarks menu. Trying to recover bookmarks does not work. I can see recent dates of bookmarks. I can see old firefox data on my desktop.

Bookmarks are a basic function of browsers. This is RIDICULOUS. Please fix this issue.

I have not had ANY UPDATES to my computer since yesterday. Yesterday all my bookmarks were there!

Per title. If I go to bookmarks->bookmark this tab OR clicking the star icon in the address field I always want it to pop up and ask me where to save it, without having to remember to double click the star icon, or go edit bookmarks menu to move it.

This seems like a poor design, at least for me when more than 90% of the time I don't want it to be in the last used folder. I have been adding bookmarks for decades and it has always asked me where to save them, so muscle memory forgets to go back and edit the bookmark I just saved, and then later on I have to go back and change them all because they are never in the right folder.

I understand if I double click the star in the url it will allow me to change it, but when I'm busy I don't remember to click it again, or double click it, then my bookmark is lost and I have to go searching for it and edit it and it's a hassle.

Is there an about:config setting I've missed to re-enable this basic feature to reduce all the clicking?

I've tried browser.bookmarks.editDialog.showForNewBookmarks both false and true without any change to the behavior.

Why is Firefox backing up my bookmarks in a json file, when Firefox itself doesn't recognise the file type when trying to restore said bookmarks? I WAS able to restore my bookmarks by converting the json file at https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/bookbackreader.html. But why can't Firefox just back up as an html file like to used to? I had to go off searching the internet for a solution, turning what should've been a 5 minute job into nearly an hour 😕

I cannot figure out how to export my bookmarks from Mozilla Account. On the desktop browser when I open "Manage Bookmarks" and select Phil's Bookmarks, I am able to export the bookmarks from the Mozilla account.

The resulting html export file does not contain the bookmarks from Mozilla Account. There also does not seem to be a way to export those bookmarks from your online Mozilla Account interface.

How do I export the bookmarks from my Mozilla Account?
