I installed Firefox beta 4, but every time it opens I cannot see any content. The tabs and toolbars are on the top, but the rest of the screen has the glass look and shows only the stuff behind firefox.

Also, what appears to be a status bar, (with noscript icon and sync controls) shows up on the top left just below the toolbar.

I can navigate to pages, go back and forward, and see it all load in the tabs at the top, but I see nothing below.

I am mostly fine with the changes in firefox 4.0b7, I get that urls are now shown in the URL abr on mouse over, loading progress is in the tab and right clicking the back button shows the list of sites.

What I can't figure out is how to show the progress of files being downloaded.

The status bar had a very simple indicator...showing the number of files and time remaining.

Is there any equivalent without having to have download manager open?

A crucial piece of security awareness does not work the same in 4.0b7. When hovering over a link, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox-3 all show the URL at the bottom left of the screen. But we cannot guard ourselves against phishing attacks in the same way with 4.0b7 because it puts the link's URL up in the Location Bar instead, where it gets truncated.

This "feature" appears to be undocumented; it is not mentioned in the Release Notes.

What config setting do I need to change to get the link's URL to show up down in the Status Bar again? (Or should I say Add-On Bar, since "Status Bar" no longer shows up under Menu -> View -> Toolbars.)

In previous betas of firefox on a mac, the three-finger scroll on the trackpad used to do full page up and full page down (as it does in other applications). In version 4 beta 7, for some reason the three touch trackpad action now opens the 'Firefox Group your Tabs' feature. I've searched in the preferences menu and can't see where to edit or fix this. Can anyone help?

I suddenly have a "Bing" screen when I sign onto Firefox---and I want to get rid of it. The support section of Firefox says 1. "From the menu at the top of the Firefox window, seledt Tools and then select the Add-ons menu item."---but I see no "menu item" nor Tools, much less Add-ons. 2. "In the Add-ons window, click on the Extensions panel."---but how do I find the Add-ons window? 3. Find the Bing Bar and Search Helper Extension in the list and click Disable for each of them."---but what and where exactly is that?

At the top of the screen is only a Yahoo icon on the left and to the right of it a search box, "Web Search,", "My Apps," Yellow Pages," "Weather," "Updates," and "Skype." to the right of those there is a green cross saying "Add more apps. to your toolbar" and to the right of that a sort of gear shift looking icon saying "toobar settings." So, in short, how do I get rid of the Bing screen and how do I access those Tools? Thanks.
