Since a while, I think it is since I created an extra testprofile with "firefox-esr -P", but I've set my main profile as default again
When opening a link in another program than firefox I get always: a popup "Close Firefox" "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile."
I do have both firefox and firefox esr, I usually use regular firefox the second came with the debian 13 repository.
I keep the esr to test display issues for reproducibility on my personal desktop, because I manage debian 13 kiosk-style desktops with firefox-esr.
(I noticed also that the regular firefox profiles can not be opened in firefox esr, so I use an extra profile for esr)

This started after the recent update. Any time i open more than 1 firefox window or try to move my window to a different monitor, the Menu Bar pops up and left click will be stuck only making the bar appear/disappear. I just have to close the second window because it becomes immediately unusable. I have the ui setting set to false but it still freezes new windows and doest let me click or type on anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, ran troubleshoot mode, got rid of extensions, reset my computer. I'm at a loss. Any help would be great

I booted the computer this AM and firefox is acting up. I can go to my email accounts (2), but I can't open an email. Both act like this. They will open with MS Edge and all other functions seem to work on the computer except for firefox.
I tried searching for a solution using duckduckgo and google, many of the links wouldn't open and some that did, just loaded re-loaded, but never finished. Pulldown menus, where they ask a question and click to see the anwer, don't work. They are frozen. Can see the cursor highlight the menus, however it will not allow any interaction with them.
I restarted the computer, there was an update, and I had it update. No change with firefox. I reinstalled firefox. No change. For the moment, I'm out of ideas. Anyone have any thoguhts about this, please help. Thanks in advance. Ken

Whenever I start my machine, without opening Firefox, Ctrl-Shift-I works (For inverting selections in certain programs, for example).
However, once I open Firefox, these 3 keys no longer work when used together (but work in any other combo).
This persists even when I close Firefox, or kill it in Task manager.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Whenever I open these drawing preview pages in Firefox, the browser gets slow or sometimes becomes unresponsive. The same pages load completely fine in Chrome, so I’m trying to understand what might be causing this only in Firefox.
Most of the previews are large drawings or viewer embeds, so maybe Firefox is struggling with rendering them. I tried clearing cache and turning off extensions, but the issue still comes back.
If anyone has dealt with similar heavy graphics or rendering issues in Firefox, what should I check or adjust? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Really, you have no staff who respond. This is unacceptable. Time for me to change browsers!

I have been using Firefox for many, many years. As of late I find it is constantly slowing or freezing and when I check with taskmanager I find Firefox has opened and is running as many as 85 processes. I have tried the recommended methods of limiting it...but the performance options do not provide the ability to limit processes as set out in the instructions....and changing the browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false also did not work. If I can't fix this, I will have to stop using Firefox. I am using version 144.0
so um the menu when you click alt (in the attached image) won't leave I clicked alt again turned mozilla off and on and it didn't work

Hello For some reason most of the buttons in my toolbar have stopped working. When I first open Firefox they all work, then when I enter websites they stop working. The 'home' button still seems to work, but almost all others (such as the 'back' button etc) can't be selected. This is very frustrating. To note, I am not tech savvy at all.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Andrew
