My thunderbird email repeatedly keeps crashing after being open for about 5 minutes or so. Time after time for the past 4-5 days. I have sent reports each and every time but the problem persists .can you please help me I will have no choice but to cancel my account and donation. Thank youbold text

I have Thunderbird 146.0.1 on a Win11 system, using POP. This setup has been in place from Windows 7, apart from the Thunderbird client version, and has worked up till the end of 2025. About October last year, I opened Thunderbird, and whenever I selected an email, or a number of emails, Thunderbird seems to get stuck trying to process something. The moving blue bar on the bottom right hand side of Thunderbird shows activity, but never stops. Taskmanager shows that Thunderbird is running, and that something is happening, but I cannot do anything with Thunderbird. I can only shutdown Thunderbird using Taskmanager. I have Norton AV installed, but I have turned it off, and the problem persists. I have removed all the emails from my inbox, and moved them to local files, and the problem persists. I have deleted and recreated my profile, and the problem persists. I have deleted the Thunderbird client and reinstalled it, and the problem persists. It doesn't matter if I select one, or twenty, emails, Thunderbird gets locked whilst processing something, and the problem persists. There is no issue with my Email provider, as I have checked using a webmail client. Emails are being processed and delivered from my email provider, and are received by Thunderbird. I would appreciate any suggestions as to the cause, or more importantly, a possible remedy. I have successfully used Thunderbird for many years, and I actively support them, so I am very keen to resolve this problem. Thank you in anticipation.

Hi, Windows 11, 32GB memory. Firefox crashes regularly when between 1.6 and 1.9 GB is consumed It happens when watching YouTube. What is the solution, please? Thank you.

Just updated my MacBook Air to Sequoia 15.7.3. Since that update, Foxfire will open, but when trying to open an article in Foxfire, Foxfire locks up and doesn't wan to shut down even with "force quit." What can I do?

I want to install my account (GMX) in thunderbird on a mac book air (´11 2015 macOS Monterey 12.7.6) but thunderbird crashes every time, after I put in name, email and password and press enter.

Ich habe versehentlich mehrere hundert Mails geöffnet, anstatt diese zu löschen. Nun startet TB145 unter Windows 10 nicht mehr richtig. Es friert ein, auch ist die Menüleiste nicht mehr erreichbar. Ich habe auch den abgesicherten Modus Probiert nichts geht. Was muss ich tun um das zu beheben?

I am trying to empty my Junk folder, but TBird just hangs "Not responding". This doesn't happen with emptying the Deleted folder - that works fine. I have recently moved to Windows 11 - this didn't happen on Windows 10. I am running release 128.7.1esr (64 bit).

Not sure if this Settings or what.

I was attempting to add a gmail address (one of mine) to Thunderbird. I got what you see in the attached. It's taking up one of my two entire monitors. (I'm writing via the 2nd monitor.) There's no title bar. The listed links don't work Ctrl F4 to close the window doesn't work. It's stuck there (Hung).

AND, "ALLOW" doesn't appear.

I'm going to have to reboot. But I really need to set this up.

I accidentally selected "view" instead of "delete" for ~300 messages. On restart T-bird crashes before displaying the Inbox. I cannot now view any old messages. Is there a way to stop T-bird from trying to view the ~300 messages? Thanks.

Thunderbird generated a crash report but did not send it. I got "There was a problem submitting your report"

Thunderbird has been working fine for years, and a few days ago I went to check email and the program only cycles and won't respond, I've done the regular things, like restart the modem, computer and redownload the program. I have windows 11 home, on a laptop, and thunderbird has about 100 saved messages.

For about 2 weeks, EVERY time I try to write an email, after typing a few lines or so, the whole window 'grays out' and becomes UN-responsive. I get no error message. Waiting for it to respond doesn't work and I have to close out and re-start Thunderbird. Sometimes Thunderbird will have saved some portion of my email in my 'Drafts' folder, but not reliably, so I have to frequently 'Control + S' - save it to avoid having to re-type the entire message again. Troubleshoot Mode doesn't help, nor does clearing the cache. I've been hoping an update would come up that would solve this, either from Thunderbird or Windows (11), but not so far. Please tell me how I should resolve this - I have used Thunderbird for years (and regularly contribute too) and don't want to have to change to different email client.

I am unable to access Thunderbird for my emails. On first boot it quickly shows the normal screen for a couple of seconds then crashes and shows a screen for an error report. Any further tries to open it results in just the error report screen which I then allow send to Tbird. I can print the report here if that is safe.

Earlier I asked a question about why Thunderbird crashes when I click on the link to a healthcare forum sometimes. Someone named Wayne kindly responded by asking if I reported the crash, but I am not getting the window that asks you to report the crash and leave a comment or crash report # either anymore. I'm only getting the window that says TB crashed and you can choose from force quit or wait only. Thanx again for any help. ~Kelly

Firefox crashes whenever my computer goes to sleep. I am running windows 11 and have been for years. This problem showed up a few months ago. The crash then screws up other apps and I have to restart my computer to fix it.

I am using Thunderbird on a Win 10 PC, with Bitdefender AV. Thunderbird crashes shortly after opening, generally within a few, say 10s. Crash reports are generated and sent.

Thunderbird will not open. Instead a page appears asking me to open a new account, with an octopus icon and the heading FREEDOM. Is this a scam? I am desperate, I constantly need access to my sent emails and address list. What is happening? I do not understand the terminology on the page about crashes.

Bonjour, Thunderbird/ Windows 10 home /64bits 1 Depuis 2025/03/15 Envoi de mail impossible (réception OK) 2 J'effectue 2025/03/17 une restauration de Windows au 2025/03/12, date du dernier message envoyé sans problème. 3 La restauration dure plus de 6 heures ! mais j'ai un pop up Microsoft qui confirme la bonne exécution. 4 Je vérifie le fonctionnement général : Internet OK, profil Thunderbird OK, Points de restauration antérieurs au 2025/03/17 disparus; compte tenu de la durée exceptionnellement longue de la restauration je pense que windows a dû procéder à quelques réparations..il semble d'ailleurs un peu plus "agile". 5 J'effectue une double sauvegarde de mes données (profil TDB inclus), au cas où... 6 Je démarre Thunderbird , ECHEC !; message "Couldnot load XPCOM".

Je propose de désinstaller TDB puis de le réinstaller; qu'en pensez vous ?

Thunderbird 145.0 (64 bit) with Windows 11 Pro.

In the message editor window, new message or reply or forward, when I want to insert a hyperlink using either CTRL+K or via the Insert menu, a popup window to insert the link into does not appear, and the write windows hangs. Becomes unresponsive. The only way to close it is by ending the task in Task Manager. I notice a crash helper in the Thunderbird group in Task Manager. Everything is on 0% CPU though.

What went on before this is that I modified the property editor.link_color in the config editor (because links are not readable in dark mode, but that's a different story). I then did reset it to default and restarted TB, then pc and TB, that did not help.

In troubleshooting mode, there is no problem. In normal mode, I deleted the only plugin I had (a theme) I cleared cache, refreshed Thunderbird, to no avail. It's not set up to generate crash reports yet.

I have TB on another machine (W10 Pro), I can copy my profile folder over quite easily.

Any suggestions please?
