Starting yesterday when I turn on my computer, or after it has been in use for some hours, totally unexpectedly, unasked for, suddenly a commercial comes on, a speaking voice with background music - it can interrupt whatever is already going on, is not identified in any way, no accompanying images, and therefore of course how can I get rid of it?

I have a need to interrupt or stop the downloading of immaterial content from obnoxious and inconsiderate web sites without closing the Firefox session. A fix might include the immediate transfer to a link when selected. Animations, videos, and advertisements have ruined the browsing experience I have enjoyed since 1998.

I was watching Netflix in a single FireFox tab (no new tabs were open), fell asleep, woke up, and there was a new tab open that thanked me for (supposedly) installing this extesnion. I check the Add-ons Manager and it had been installed as an add-on into my FireFox Browser without my knowledge or permission. I live alone, no one was visiting, and my cats aren't -that- savvy! Ha!

There is no excuse for this. Please ban this Jason Savard creep by every means possible, including by his computer's IP address, any smart devices he uses, etc. If you're able to track down his ISP, please report his activities to them, as this kind of activity is illegal and likely against his ISP's policies.

Please also include a reporting system in your Add-ons/Extensions page, or include a "Report Abuse" link on the pages for each extension that FireFox users come up with. I'm not happy about having to "post a question" in order to communicate this problem to you.

PS. I have tried to upload a screen shot of what I saw when I first woke up, however, your image uploading tool is not working. It pretends to upload a file, but even at a high upload speed for my ISP, it can't handle a simple .jpg screen shot (1400 x 900 dpi on a 17" screen). Please fix this issue as well. If you want the screen shot, please email me so I can reply to that email with the .jpg screen shot file. I'm not going to sit here forever waiting for some silly uploading-in-progress icon to never change to "Done" or whatever.

Lately, every morning when I open my laptop ( I only use blank screen) Firefox is already open to the http://kbb.com website. This is on a Windows 10 laptop. I cannot find anywhere in Firefox settings that is telling this site to start up nor any reason for Firefox to even be open. I definitely shut Firefox down when I'm finished browsing. There are some 'Recent Highlights" and one of them is showing that page, but I am unable to remove them.

It is more of an adv. that is annoying, and until you fill in your details incl. email and tel. you can not do anything. she refuses to give her tel no for fear of fraud. The only option I have is to restart the system. PLS HELP !!

Is there any way to prevent a website from redirecting me to a SPAM website? Some websites will do that even if you right click on a link that you wanted to open in a new tab. Then after the website you were on redirects you to an annoying useless website, and you return to the original website is the only time that link you wanted to open will work.

Firefox has begun opening a new tab, when I click on a link, e.g. a new article in the Times and then asks if I will allow it. These are usually ads or questionnaires which I do not want to open. But I have to jump to that new tab to close it. This is an annoying nuisance, and did not use to happen.

None............and I do mean NONE of the posted solutions posted permanently resolve the problem. They will temporarily, but inevitably Yahoo rears it's ugly head again. Comically Mozilla has admitted awareness of the problem stating "it was a glitch in version 35, but it has been corrected and updating to version 36 will take care of it". So what are we on now..............version 42 and it's still ongoing. The I.T. department at the corporation I work for finally got so fed up with calls about this that we are no longer permitted to use the Firefox browser on corporate owned PC's. Unless Yahoo has a malicious hacker in their ranks or there is a "cyber browser conspiracy" between Yahoo and Mozilla I find it incredibly difficult to believe they can't resolve this!?!?!?

Quite often, maybe every other day or so, while navigating to my regularly visited sites on Firefox a page will automatically redirect to https://eecohweb1.com/5171142995655/e168b96dcf8e600121a9d71679334641.html It appears to be a legitimate Flash page where they say your Flash may be out of date. I think over a year ago I may have accidentally downloaded it, but haven't since and have ran all kinds of anti-virus and malware removal programs. I suspect this is the result of malware because Microsoft Security Essentials automatically pops up and says I was protected from something.

Anyone else have this problem? I've ran Microsofct Security Essentials, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, AdwCleaner, and Stinger. They don't seem to find anything.

I have a redirect problem with Firefox but not Safari: Norton antivirus finds no viruses on computer so maybe it's on the modem router: what can I do?

I'm using a Mac running OS X Yosemite, 10.10.5. When I use Firefox (but not when I use Safari) to go to any website that doesn't have a little green locked padlock icon next to its URL, the browser tries to redirect me to an adware site within a few seconds. I have now clicked the button telling Firefox to notify me when this happens, so I no longer actually get the adware site -- just a notification from Firefox that it's been told to go there and a blank screen.

Norton antivirus has done a complete system scan and finds nothing. Maybe the problem is on my ADSL router, or maybe it's some legitimate-looking add-on. I have contacted the router company and they sort-of helped, perhaps by sending a firmware upgrade to the router but I don't know. Soon after I contacted them the problem went away, but only briefly. Now it's back

I really want to get rid of this thing, as I greatly prefer Firefox to Safari. What should I do?
