I'm trying to access a video on meethook.live. I did so in 2021 using the Firefox browser, but for some reason, it won't work anymore. The kind people at Meethook.live suggested using Chrome or Safari, but I don't want to use either of those browsers. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to change any settings to make it work. I tried a few security settings, dropping a few protections I had set up, but that hasn't helped. Can you suggest anything?

I recently upgraded to Tbird 115 (on my 2019 Macbook Pro using Sonoma 14.1) when some of the addons I loved made their way up to this level. (Yippee!). The conversion was mostly painless; I have one quirk I can't quite figure out:

Shortly after upgrading, I created a secondary email account that received email from a number of email aliases I use for receiving email. I forgot that when I set up a new email account on Thunderbird, it automatically adds an additional SMTP server for sending mail "Outoing Server (SMTP) Settings." I caught that after a few days and deleted the SMTP settings under the "Outgoing Server (SMTP) tab at the bottom of the list of accounts in the Account Settings tab, and then also went to the settings of the identify and at the bottom made sure "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" is set to the default outgoing server.

For at least some emails that come in to that email, when I hit REPLY, the original settings for the outgoing server (the SMTP settings that use the secondary email address) pop up, and if I don't catch it the email is successfully sent.

These "phantom SMTP settings" appear in the FROM box, but don't appear as an option when I remember to go up and manually use the pulldown menu to change the FROM email to the default.

I attached a partial screenshot of the Outgoing Servers list showing three SMTP identities (none of which are the "phantom" SMTP account which starts with the letter "J"), and also a partial screenshot of the Outgoing Server setting on the identify of this secondary email account where it indicates the default outgoing server (P@trg).

I did some poking around both here and elsewhere, and haven't had luck finding a solution; any suggestions would be most welcome!

Hello, In the last couple of weeks, messages are not displaying as they did. So for example, I received screenshots of an airline trip I'm doing, but the message contained the following: [A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated] Inbound Another example is receiving an email from a bank. Instead of showing the embedded link, it displayed as html. So, I can't read what was sent. Or it's hard to pick out the link.

I've gone to privacy and controls, but I can't find where I need to change this. Please help.

Hello Fred McD,

Thanks for getting back to me. First, my computer screen froze (I suspect some interference of a hacker or something).

Anyway, I turned off my computer, waited several minutes, and turned it back on, again. A message came on the screen said I wasn't "signed in." Then, another smaller window came up saying I could "sign in" by clicking on a blue button. But, that didn't work after three tries, so I clicked on the "closed" button. That allowed me very limited access to the internet. A "black" label announcement said that I wasn't signed in - and that my files were inaccessible to me.

It looks like I need a technician, but I presently have no car and I don't know of any technicians who do "House Calls."

I'm also wary of contacting an online technician. One time a year or so ago, I looked up a phone number for Microsoft - and the guy I spoke with had an "Indian" accent. He sort of helped me for a stiff fee. In hindsight, I realized he couldn't possibly have worked for Microsoft - even though he assured me that he did...

Can you or someone on your staff possibly help me. I trust Mozilla Firefox and I'm prepared to pay a reasonable fee.

Thank You, Eric Vollmer

Copying the thunderbird profile folder (to back it up) from the HD to an ext HD fails because of the windows long file name limitation problem. The folder within the profile folder: 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.files will not paste because its file name path is too long. Even when I edited the windows registry to allow long file names (changed the registry value for long file names from 0 to 1) I still get the same error message when pasting the copied profile folder into an external hard drive. Will the backed up copy of the profile folder if installed into a new computer still allow thunderbird to function properly without that folder (i opened that folder and it is actually empty)? Can thunderbird's code be rewritten to shorten this file name? Other solutions anyone can recommend? thank you

Since the last Firefox update to 108.01, or that is when I first noticed this problem. When I have many tabs open right to the end of the tab bar the new tab + disappears off the screen. The more tabs I open it does correctly automatically reduce the width of the tabs but pushes the + tab off to the right, this never use to happen before it always kept the new tab + in view.

On some sites, I see some of the text replaced with different text. I tried these pages in other browsers at the same time and they display correctly. I tried on a private browser session and it displays the same. I had seen this previously, but it seemed to go away on its own. I was able to get screenprints of this event. If I inspect the fast.com page, I can see what the proper text should be.

These are just annoyances since I can still interact with the page, but just thought to see if I can find a fix.

https://fast.com/ https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/

Browser is updated.

Thank you in advance for any help.

A few days ago I posted here that my inbox was corrupt. At that time most of the December incoming emails were spoiled and inaccessible.

Now the failure has spread back all the way to the beginning of the inbox -- incoming emails from 2017 and 2018 which I had kept there for lack of a better place to put them.

What can I do? Other than stop using Thunderbird?! I am on Beta, would it help to go to the normal version?

How would I do that?

I have lost hundreds of incoming emails, valuable ones by definition (i.e. because I chose to keep them).

I am using 1220b1 (32-bit) in Windows 10.

All solutions appear to be to go to customize firefox and to drag and drop in some bar at the top of the page BUT when i do this it STILL doesn't come back. HELP!!! Cannot take screenshot of problem (pop up ms from Amazon via Firefox) . . as soon as I pick up the phone or attempt any action whatsoever, the message box disappears. And since I have a fingerprint access option on, the moment my finger touches the screen for full access there is no record of the message for screen capture. Also, if I do nothing, the screen goes black (normal, with time/date etc visible) within a few seconds after the message appears . . though it is waiting for me to touch the screen at which time it reappears again for a few seconds. So it is pick up the phone . . trigger motion detection . . message box appears . . wait a couple of seconds . . black screen . . touch or pick up the phone . . message box . . black screen etc. I can of course do the fingerprint scan and have full phone features, but the preliminary nag "box message" all the time bugs the hell out of me. In the text of my "complaint" I quoted what the message says, it is not from Firefox but does have a tiny Firefox logo upper left. The small rectangular window also has a left/right "full return" arrow (grayed out each one) with a black "pause" button in between the two arrows, and it is not grayed out. However nothing happens if I touch it. In very small print under the main text (first few words of my Amazon review) is a link to the Amazon page where I posted a review of a product. The message itself that I refer to is NOT from Firefox, but is comprised of the first few words of my review headline (not all of it but most) on the Amazon product comment review page. So even though the "content" of the unwanted message is from Amazon, the Firefox logo nevertheless appears (very tiny) in the upper left of the rectangular window, so it appears to be a composite error interaction between Firefox and Amazon. How to tell Firefox to stop posting it? Or how to tell Amazon that their software is somehow involved? I haven't a clue . . ! This is a re-written complaint . . the original one resulted in an email request from "Seburo" who asked for a screenshot, but did not provide a return email address that functioned. So I am posting here a second time, thanks.
