SFR, don't give aid for this problem, and ask to address to Thunderbird.

When I accessed TB it updated to an ESR (Eclipse) version and when I load it I get a message saying I've used an old version, would I like to create a new profile. ( I didn't) I've copied my backup to the profile but many folders are missing from the current profile.

How do I get all my folders to display? I've reinstalled TB version 147 without the ESR option.

The last I was able to send an email from my laptop (W11 Home) was 5 days ago. I've made no changes in Thunderbird (140.6.0esr (64-bit)). I've checked with my ISP (PenTeleData - ptd.net) and all is ok. I checked with Norton (360 deluxe); turned off firewall temporarily and tried to send again. Still getting same message.

As usual on forums, none of the subject choices exactly fit my situation/problem, so I apologize for any unintended misdirection.

How do I uninstall Privacy Badger. It's been disabled, but not uninstalled. Please be specific as to keystrokes, screens, boxes, location of item. Many instructions tend to overuse computer jargon or common industry synonyms used daily within their sphere, which a laymen cannot easily translate, and often raise more questions than they answer. Quand je souhaite l'inscrire pour l'utiliser via Thunderbird (nouveau compte/adresse mail), tout se passe bien et j'obtiens le message "Configuration trouvée dans la base de données des FAI de Mozilla". Je clique ensuite sur Terminé et j'arrive à une fenêtre "se connecter avec Google" qui affiche ma nouvelle adresse mail. Quand je clique sur "suivant", j'obtiens le message "erreur 400 - le serveur ne peut pas traiter la requête, car son format est incorrect". Pouvez-vous m'aider ? Merci d'avance. Laurent Lapchin

Purchased new laptop. Used export tool in Thunderbird to external HD. Traded in old laptop. Installed Thunderbird & attempted to import my email profile. Import tool requires zip file, but the only file on my external HD is a .default file. I'm getting new email but none of my old emails. Consulted Best Buy Geek & he determined the import tool didn't work properly because the export was missing required files. We further determined the export backup must not have worked properly.

Several days ago we inadvertently deleted batches of emails from our two Thunderbird Gmail accounts on our PC and Apple devices. The lost emails were duly recovered but only after having to change my Google password. However one of our Thunderbird Gmail account will not download any new messages coming in. Ultimately we deleted that account from Thunderbird, intending to reinstall it. We deleted the account by pressing the Red button in account settings. We confirmed that messages are received to Gmail's Web page Inbox Now when I attempt to reinstall the account and press Add Account, I get the UNABLE TO LOG IN AT SERVER MESSAGE shown below. The "Your Full Name" I am putting in is the name on the Google account deleted from Thunderbird, and the password I have tried is my new Google password. I have tried the process of not adding in the password until requested to do so but this did not work either. Any suggestions please?

Recently Mint upgraded my FF to v147 - possibly relevant, possibly not. There's no post mentioning anyone having this issue on the Mint forum though.

In my Settings, "Open previous windows and tabs" is definitely enabled, but it doesn't happen. I only get my homepage custom URLs.

I went into troubleshooting mode and FF then behaves.

So I figured the issue must be with an extension - but I disabled all my extensions, and it doesn't help. Only going full troubleshooting mode fixes it.

What do I do next please?

I searched, and all the internet results I find tell me to look in the settings:applications:mailto ddlb and select Yahoo. The problem is that it's not there.

There is a "use other" but there's no hint on how I'd tell it to open https://mail.yahoo.com.

How do I get it to open Yahoo mail?

This is on W11.

I have one account in Thunderbird that pop's emails from a Yahoo account. If I delete a message in Thunderbird it goes to a local trash bin and on default stays there forever.

I want the emails to be deleted after 40 days in the trash bin. See picture. But it looks like it works exactly like it's described.

Messages are deleted from the trash when it's 40 days after they were originally send. If I delete a message in the inbox older than 40 days it goes to the trash and is immediately deleted from it.

I tried deleting several messages older than 40 days.

The counter of the trash increases for a split second with 1. If I look in the trash the deleted message is not there.

In my trash there are only messages "younger" than 40 days. At this moment the oldest is from December, 14 2025

Yes it works like the retention policy tells it should work. But this different from what I expect from trash folders

Is there a way to have TB auto delete Trash msgs older than a specified number of days. I don't want to just empty all the Trash folder, but I would like to be able to tell it to empty all messages over 30 days, or 42 days or whatever. Suzanne

Thunderbird 140.7.0esr (aarch64) on macOS26.02

For several days now, Thunderbird has been responding extremely slowly to mouse movements or clicks. This leads to undesirable results because emails are suddenly deleted that should not be deleted (due to forced double clicks). Or folders are not opened, or the wrong folders are opened.

The last change was updating Thunderbird. Is this a known bug?

Hi, I have recently had a problem with one of our cats walking on my keyboard. Previously the Thunderbird page had two panels, the top one listing emails in date order and the bottom one displaying the message I had highlighted on the top panel. Now I have the top panel which is fine but I can't get the bottom panel. Can you help please? Douglas.

This has worked for me for years. It just began a few days ago when I tried to login and look at my new auto insurance policy. I've cleared the cache/cookies to no avail. I can access the web site with Edge (yuk)

Hallo everybody who wants to help me, A few days ago, YouTube opened a tab in my browser without being asked. How can I stop this? It started with youtube automatically opening the installed app every day. I then uninstalled the app. Since uninstalling it, youtube opens a tab in my firefox every day, which I don't want. When I have Thunderbird desktop running but I am focused in another application, I receive a popup notification when a new email is received. In the popup, there is an X to make the notification disappear, but it would be very handy if there was also a trash can icon where, if you clicked on it, the message would be deleted from your inbox without having to go back to the TB app. I didn't see any such options in TB settings, and I have searched the forum to no avail. Is this possible? Thank you.

When accessing important accounts on websites, like financial websites, I've always heard you should close your browser when you're done with the secure website. If you log on in a PRIVATE window and close the private window afterword but leave the main FireFox window open, is that the same thing? I think it is and the private window will delete any login or activity info as if you closed the browser, I just want to confirm with someone more knowledgeable before I make a bad assumption. It also seems to have the added benefit of deleting anything you might download and save elsewhere from the download folder so you don't have to delete it from the DL folder and then the recycle bin. Seems like it's good practice to use the private window this way. Again, just looking for a 2nd opinion.
