I have followed the troubleshooting suggestions with no avail. I am currently in troubleshooting mode with all add-ons disabled. The problem persists. The only way to handle the problem is to depress the scroll wheel on the mouse and start scrolling. However, the problem returns with the next page. The problem shows up on Windows 10 as well as Debian bullseye.

I have used Firefox and Firefox-esr for years on the same platforms. This problem started about six months ago with no resolution. So what has changed? On Win 10 Firefox keeps getting updates whereas Firefox-esr never gets updates. The problem persists on both platforms. More than one mouse has been used with the same results. I have removed Firefox and Firefox-esr and re loaded them, no joy here either.

I have spent hundreds of hours over the years trying to figure out how to hell to suggest words to the default firefox dictionaries. I don't mean weird words, words used constantly in scientific settings. It is infuriating. I am willing to take on this task if no one else is. How do I join the effort?!? I have 20 years experience at a fortune 500 company. Google is worthless these days.

FIrefox view I think has a lot of potential. Especially with the release of Ai. It could be a fantastic home page type setup.

Currently though, I would like to use it as a tab manager.

Is there a way to access it via keyboard? If not, can it please receive a keybinding? It seems like a very very small thing to add.

I would like to use my browser in a different way.

My mom accidentally marked an email in Thunderbird as junk. I need to figure out how to remove that, so that the emails from that domain will come through. I don't see anywhere that I can do that. How would I undo it?

Clearing the "Recent" list when attempting to move emails used to be simple. Go to your profile while Thunderbird is NOT running and delete the panacea.dat file. It's no longer there. The only threads in the support forum suggest the same thing, but the threads are EIGHT years old. Where is the list of entries for the "Recents" folder located and how do I reset it. I have more than 20 entries, most of which I've used only ONCE. How to I clear this mess?

I have been using Thunderbird for some time and it has served me well. I used it to manage my gmail accounts with encryption and so on.

Recently I have deleted one of my gmail accounts and when I launch it Thunderbird asks me to log in to that account. "Sign in to continue to Mozilla Thunderbird Email" And I am supposed to enter my email.

I have checked the account settings: the old account (let's call it old@gmail.com) is no longer there. I have also removed the outgoing SMTP server for the old account.

I do not know how to stop the app from asking me to log in to an nonexistent account.

When I try to open a new tab, the dot continues to move back and forth but does not load the tab. Sometimes I have gotten the message: "A web page is slowing down your browser. To stop it close the page."

I have tried fixes suggested on the web, but no help, including clearing the cache.

I had a crash in Kubuntu 22.04 with Thunderbird (up to date 115, German language). I set a Master password for Thunderbird. I installed then Kubuntu and Thunderbird again and Thunderbird without Master Password. I have a backup of the private email key (*-secret.asc exported from Thunderbird!), but it is not possible to import the private key. All I get is „Failure File can not be imported“. What is the problem and how to solve it? I did new installations (without master password) before and it worked. It’s a really big big problem for the email system if the (Backup) keys can not be imported after crashes or new installation of the system.

Some time ago, two of the folders in my Inbox have had their icons changed to the same icon used for Drafts. I cannot figure out how to get their icons back to the typical Folder icon and these two folders cannot be moved in the list of folders to rearrange their order. Please help.

Ok. The update downloaded 2 1/2 days ago. I've used Firefox since that download. It didn't install until now. 2 1/2 days later. Why the long delay? And why don't you have something show up in the banner or toolbar that designates that an upload to Firefox is happening? Now, we all have to guess why Firefox is behaving slow and erratic, close and re-open, and check for version.

I am showing beside the inbox that I have 4 unread emails, but I have nothing in the message (inbox) folder. I have looked everywhere and cannot find these messages anywhere.

response to jonzn4SUSE, because on my desk top, it won't install, because my computer chip is too old, when I get to the point of clicking on finish, when clicking on finish, it disappears, supposedly this chip is a better chip than the one I need to install it, but it's older than the one which is the minimum needed to do the install, even took it to the repair shop, I had read that sometimes if an older version of waterfox is on a computer it won't install, by the time I got it back from the shop everything with waterfox was gone, including bookmarks etc., none it was saved, some of the things I could import from my other browsers, one thing I don't like about waterfox is there isn't any way to export those things to other browsers, even when going to firefox or any other browsers, when clicking on import from other browsers, waterfox isn't on the list, also on my laptop, has an intel chip, maybe older than the one on desk top, when 1st installed it, it worked, the next time I tried to use it it wouldn't open, don't use lap top very often, usually only when desk top is in the shop on desk top, even tried to install it in safe mode, after I got it back from the repair shop, is when I found out about the chip being too old Operating System       Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU       AMD Phenom II X4 955          Deneb 45nm Technology RAM       16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard       Gigabyte Technology Co. I've been using Thunderbird for a long time. I presently have version 115.4.3

I have always had to enter my pw to receive emails, and always have to enter it again to send emails. Why do I have to enter it twice?

Every other email client I have ever used only requires I enter it once.

I don't want to use Thunderbird to save my passwords.

Hello, I use Firefox on Windows 11 . Since my computer became so slow, I checked task manager and found that Firefox is eating up my memory. It is described as Firefox(35) and is using about 2690MB. I would like to know how to reduce memory use if possible. Best regards.

Hi -- I hope someone can help with this recent problem that has cropped up. Videos that are supposed to be autostart, such as news stories embedded on pages of news sites or video feeding into a side panel on a college sports site I frequent are just continually in buffer mode with the little spin icon in the middle of the screen. This also happens with some, but not all, YouTube videos.

This is a recent development and I didn't do anything to change my setup. I did try updating to make sure I have the most recent version of Firefox, so that's been accounted for. If I close out Firefox and come back to it after a couple of minutes, the problem is cleared, but it only lasts a little while before it begins once again.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
