Hi Team FFox! I often need to plan several months ahead (doesn't everyone?) and would like to see the next 3-4 months in the calendar sidebar. I'm used to this view from Outlook and find it exceptionally useful. I just upgraded to version 105 and was hoping it would be configurable, but cannot find it anywhere. IMHO having just one month is redundant with the main calendar view. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

I have the options set on my email account settings and in the Thunderbird general settings. Both places, I have told Thunder bird to move new junk messages to "Junk" folder on "me@myemailaddress.com."

I also have the option "Enable adaptive junk filter logging" checked, if that makes any difference.

How long is this supposed to take to train Thunderbird to automatically start putting junk in the Junk folder instead of my inbox? Because I have marked several of these spammers by pressing the J key and forcing them into the Junk folder this way, but they still keep coming into my inbox. The same exact email addresses I already marked as "junk" by pressing J at least 3 times are still hitting my inbox.

I'm sorting my emails by "read" status and grouping them in Threads. When a thread has an unread email in it, it doesn't sort with the other individual emails that are unread. The whole thread stays in the date order that it is created, instead of going to the bottom (I'm putting unread emails to the bottom of the list) along with the others. Is there a way to make threads sort along with the others?

I just want all of my folders and sub-folders to have the same display columns! With 115, you can change any folder or sub-folder to any column organization you want, but I want them all the same. 115 changed my display columns - why couldn't you leave them alone, Thunderbird??? I can go in and change them back manually, so why were they changed at all??? I don't want to have to change each folder and its child folders individually - I have a few dozen folders, most with dozens of sub-folders. I tried the "Apply columns to ..." and selected Local Folders to change them all - none of them changed! I saw the video from Castellani claiming that TB tried to make sure that upgrading wouldn't take hours to reconfigure back to a usable state, but that's obviously not true if you have more than the one or two folders shown in the video.

Mozilla/Thunderbird -- Is it so hard to leave things as they are and just TELL us there are new features available, if we want them, instead of DESTROYING our well-used setups and forcing us to come here in hopes that someone can save us from hours of tedium just to be productive again?

Thanks to anyone who can save those of us who just want our setups back the way they were!

Now that I have TB 115.2.2 installed I have a couple of annoying changes:

1 When I move an e-mail from my Inbox to a folder it immediately expands when I hover over it. Some of my folders have 20-30 sub-folders so it's a pain to have to close the folder so that I can see the rest of the folders for the next move. Is there a delay setting anywhere?

2 My previous version used to have the function buttons immediately above the message and the menu bar was at the top. Why have they been reversed?

3 Compact folders no longer works.

TB 115.2.2 on Mac: notifications for email in Inbox subfolders

I am using Thunderbird 115.2.2 on a Mac running macOS 13.5.2 and am using IMAP to collect my email. My Thunderbird settings for notifications when new email arrives are:

  • to animate the dock icon when new mail arrives and to show the count of unread messages;
  • to play a sound.

My macOS notification settings for Thunderbird allow notifications and enable badges, sounds and banners (including on the lock screen).

I’m very pleased with TB 115—which brought me back after ten years using another email client. I have one small issue which I suspect is more a request for an enhancement than it is a bug report.

I have four subfolders of my inbox to which specific emails are routed (by Thunderbird message filters) when downloaded by Thunderbird. When an email is routed by a TB filter to a subfolder I receive a visual macOS notification and hear the relevant sound. However, the app icon does not show a figure for the unread email.

I assume the app icon figure for unread emails applies only to emails in the inbox itself. If that is the case it would be a really nice enhancement for it also to cover unread items in subfolders of the inbox. On the other hand, of course, it’s also quite possible that I’m doing something wrong!

Using Thunderbird 115.2.2 As in previous versions it appears to be impossible to single space text. Whenever Enter is pressed, an double space is forced. Changing options to body text has no impact. Thunderbird immediately reverts to double spacing when Enter is pressed. This is crippling when composing lists, tables, etc. Please advise how to set Thunderbird to default to single spacing. Thanks.

Hi,

Whenever I use tables in a message, I'm annoyed by the little controls that allow to insert/remove rows and columns inline (see attached image for example).

I've enabled userChrome.css in Thunderbird by setting toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to True.

Then I inspected those little elements and a typical control looks like: a[_moz_anonclass="mozTableAddColumnBefore"]

But I cannot seem to affect those elements using userChrome.css or userContent.css. For example: a[_moz_anonclass="mozTableAddColumnBefore"] {display:none !important} does nothing.

The CSS rules related to those elements seem to be stored in a file called EditorOverride.css but I guess it's a temp file because I cannot find it on my computer.

Any ideas on solving this issue? Thanks!

Folks,

In the older versions of TB 102 and earlier, MOVING a bunch of email to a folder was much easier. Move To folder pop-up allows the name of the folder to be moved to by typing in the search box.

This supernova version made is so inconvenient to move email, as now one cannot type the email folder to move to, itstead one must use a LONG-Winded method to move email by only selecting the folder in the pop-up.

Please BRING that option of typing the name of the folder for the email to be moved to. It is so much more convenient. Otherwise what is the point of reducing the value of such features?

Even the file menu is placed in the wrong position, it SHOULD be at the top and then underneath the File menu, you can have the mail space toolbar.

Can you consider these two things urgently? Thanks.
