I just installed Thunderbird after not having used it in several years. I reinstalled it again because the online yahoo att server is not that great at organizing emails that belong to stream of common emails; I mean sometime you can't find an email in the stream or so it seams.
One of the features I love about Thunderbird is it's filtering feature. It helps organize emails so they can be read and deleted easier...especially by subject or sender.
I installed Thunderbird (yesterday) with some hesitation because in the past I couldn't figure out why the emails on the server would disappear. And for that reason I stopped using it. I think I know what happened now but correct me if I'm wrong; this all happened yesterday so it's pretty fresh.
After installing Thunderbird and reacquainting myself with the app I decided to create some filters. As I was doing this I kept looking at the server online email app to make sure no emails were getting deleted. It seemed ok for a while but then it happened. All the emails that I filtered to a local folder(s) vanished from the server. So the
question is; is there a way to prevent this from happening and/or can I restore the emails in the local folder back to the server as if they had not been deleted? I also did a test email with a test filter and test local folder to prove this and sure enuf it was deleted from the server.
Thanks and regards in advance
