Hello, i am IT admin / dev for a company running FF currently v68.2.0esr 32-bit on approx. 1000 PCs, and we have a problem with downloading files from on-premises hosting portal (Sysaid). File names get corrupted on download (but this doesn't happen in Safari, Edge or IE as far as i tested) so i thought i should ask here because i want my company to stay with FF as everything else works fine (Java web extensions for Oracle services, security, ease-of-use, translations etc....). So, file named:

Uvoz_baza_v_ORAPACK_za_Ameriko_20.02.2020_-_RP0_Unior_kode.XLSX

Gets downloaded as:

%3D%3FUTF-8%3FB%3FVXZvel9iYXphX3ZfT1JBUEFDS196YV9BbWVyaWtvXzIwLjAyLjIwMjBfLV9SUDBfVW5pb3Jfa29kZS54bHN4%3F%3D

... and of course Windows doesn't know what to do with it.. I can rename it, and give it proper extension then i can open it, so contents are not corrupted. If i download it multiple times, name stays the same but gives (1), then (2) then... at the end of the string.

Any help is greatly appreciated as switching to another browser is not really an easy task here.. Thanks!

I have downloaded the latest version of FIREFOX ESR version 68.8.0 and installed it. But when i launch it its giving an error to restart firefox. I did restart couple of times and i still see any error. Can someone help me with this

I'm working on building a deployment for Firefox 78.1.0 ESR in a mixed Windows/macOS environment. I've got a policies.json file that works, and was able to install it on Windows via a batch script that runs the installer MSI, creates the distribution directory, and copies the policies.json to that location.

Where I'm struggling is getting this deployed on the Mac side of things. I've followed the directions to apply policy and remove the quarantine here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/deploying-firefox-customizations-macos While this works on my Mac, when I deploy it to my test collection (via AirDrop, Self-Service, or by running the PKG file made by JAMF Composer), macOS says the app is damaged and should be deleted.

Does anyone know a way around that?

And something about auto-config

But I still do not know how I can turn on the "encrypt all sites" in HTTPS everywhere extensions for all users. (the default of the extension is off).

but it seems it settings will only applied on the second start of firefox. It seems the appropriate profile needs to be created before the policies are applied is there a way to apply it for the first start even if there is no profile created yet?

Hi Everyone,

We are in the middle of deploying Firefox ESR 68.11 (32-bit) on Windows 10 1903. The deployment is sucessfull so the application is installed correctly. but when we launch from desktop of menu shortcut, it crashes every time with: Sorry, we're having trouble having your page back. (see image attach).

Re-installing does not change anything...

I tried deleting the User profile registry entries and the %Localappdata%\Mozilla folder without any success. the message in the Event viewer is: Log Name: Application Source: Application Hang Date: 21/08/2020 11:14:34 AM Event ID: 1002 Task Category: (101) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Description: The program firefox.exe version 68.11.0.7506 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Also when it crash, task manager is showing two different entry (see image attached), one says not responding?

We have upgraded Firefox 68.6.0esr to 78.2.1esr and the upgrade appears to have worked, but when we start Firefox the search screen is not displayed. We cannot even get the OPTIONS screen to display. We can get the troubleshooting page displayed. When Firefox is closed it appears to leave 4 process's still running. Have tried to do a refresh of Firefox but we cannot get the search screen to be displayed. Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft has apparently renamed Intune to "Microsoft Endpoint Manager", which is now at https://endpoint.microsoft.com.

To get to the proper location needed in these instructions, "Step 2" should be changed to something like:

We are getting this error when we try to open a excel document from JWS. But the same JWS applet works fine when opened with IE 11 and able to open excel with out any issues. We tried to clean the complete registry for firefox and even cleared the complete firefox, cleared cache re-installed firefox ESR 68.10 and also tried to upgrade to latest version. But still faced the same problem. We are running Windows 10 OS.

Error shortly says:

[Window Title] firefox

[Content] Windows cannot find 'firefox'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

We are distributing a package for our clients so they can access our system with specific versions. The package is mainly built around Firefox(70+) as a portable. We customize all the settings using policies.json file.

Some of our clients are using GPO to add bookmarks to their regular Firefox install. When our package runs, it take the settings from the GPO instead of the policies.json file.

Is there a way to force our install to use the policies.json file? Or maybe combine the settings, since they are not the same.

I haven't found any information about policies.json in context of mass deploying it over the network. In my case we don't have GPO available so policies.json would be nice but how to centralize this feature instead of placing it in every PC one by one ??? Can it be shared via UNC so changes can affect all that use it?

As part of a job we have been asked to install Firefox 78.4 ESR in to citrix for our published desktops. We originally had v68 ESR which works lovely however the security team have asked us to upgrade to v78. We did this however when we opened up a published desktop and ran firefox, the app opened up but nothing happened. We get no page loading, nothing on the screen apart from just firefox. So here are my questions What is the minimum version and requirements to run firefox v68 and v78? IE citrix versions, Server Versions etc Is there a document that lists all the changes since v68 to v78?

Is there any special install requirements when putting firefox in to a citrix based environment?

Background information: since version 87 of firefox, I have been having problems viewing pdfs online. All the suggestions from people provided on the post, placed in another part of thecommunity, didn't work for me. I decided to remove my installation of Firefox and install a new uptodate version. I decided on this after I had installed Brave as an alternate browser and changed it to the default browser in my frustration. Now: I was unaware that I had downloaded the enterprise version. When I got to the settings, next to "make Firefox your default browser" there was a statement in red saying "your browser is being managed by your organization". Clicking the link brings up a policy screen which says "don't check default browser" with a value of true and no way - as far as i can see of changing the value. And it is also unchangeable in Brave. I hope someone has an answer for me. The one good thing about the current situation is that I can read pdfs in the browser. Is there an emoji for headache?
