My PC had a sudden and total crash just recently and left me no option but to wipe the drive and do a clean install of everything.

After I had put Windows 11 back on plus other software, I reinstalled Thunderbird as well.

However it will only download emails from the reinstallation date and nothing prior.

Any advice on how to rectify this?

Is there perhaps something in SETTINGS that I need to look at?

Dear All:

Suddenly FF starts but shows only a new tab without any content. I can fill in a URL but no reaction. Settings doesn't open. Close tab through X Restart FF. no new tab but message: FF is already running but is not responding. The old FF process must be closed to open in a new window. Click to close. a new empty tab pops up without starting FF manually. Close through X Restart brings the same message as above - no window. Have to end FF in Task Manager.

Uninstalled and reinstalled three times - no change.

I'm using Windows 10 and Avast One, Firewall checked - is open for FF.

Hello Support, I notice today when I updated Thunderbird program to new version 78.0.1 it started acting strangely, slowing down, not retrieving emails for specified folders, all folders change color to light gray, filters that were created are not responding I surely don't want go back and create them all over again. It has crashed on me several times so far, emails going straight to inbox when it works and not to their folders. Again, very, very slow... I'm using Lenova Computer with windows 10.

I see I am using version 68.12.1. It states it is 32-bit. Why can't I get the latest version, on my computer. The reason being is I want to install an add on and it seems I can't with 68.

Hi, I just updated to Thunderbird 78.4.0 Now I cannot change any setting in the Settings Dialog (German: Extras / EInstellungen) because the labels are not visible. When I start Thunderbird in secure mode (Hilfe / mit deaktivierten Addons starten), then everything seems correct. When I manually deactivate all addons, the Labels are again invisible.

I'm currently on Thunderbird 68.12.1 (32-bit) and am getting message telling me it cannot be updated and I need to download new version. But when I try to do this, which I have on several occasions, I get error message saying the file cannot be saved because the source file could not be found. What can I do?

Is there a main article describing all the migration steps? After 40 minutes in the forum I suspect that I need to rename my address book files from *.mab to *.squilite? Anything else I need to take care of to take care of all the problems highlighted in the various issues without spending another hour or two? At this point I am thinking that moving to Outlook may be simpler. Thanks!
