My Android (Samsung S22) Thunderbird acct. sends some emails to Outbox where they become stuck and clicking "send messages" does nothing. Indiscriminate whether email has attachments or not. Sending it back to Drafts and resending ends up back in Outbox. Have tried all posted "fixes", short of uninstalling tbird and reinstalling. I am on home 5G wifi. WTH?

Hi, Using Thunderbird 140.4.0esr (64-bit). Thunderbird is not able to retrieve my inbox, but it can retrieve any other folders - both ones at top-level and ones inside Folders or Labels. I am attaching screenshots to show Thunderbird activity - I am subscribed to Inbox, and Thunderbird is retrieving messages from the many other folders of my account. Of note is that sometimes Thunderbird appears to address a folder as roy@planalp.net/<folder> and sometimes as rpplanalp@proton.me specifically, rpplanalp@proton.me/INBOX appears to be the addressing of the inbox. My original proton account was rpplanalp, before I connected my domain name.

It has worked fine for a very long time, however, started failing in the last couple weeks and in fact Inbox moved to the bottom of my folders list and I attempted to bring it up to the top. It is notable that I can get the Inbox messages if I subscribe to the All Mail folder, as a poor workaround.

Dear Support, when I forward a message, it gets successfully forwarded to the recipient, but the forwarding message itself is lost -- it's not in the Inbox folder, and not in the Sent folder.

The only indication is a forwarding icon in the forwarded message.

My settings are attached. I'm using IMAP with FastMail. I checked the Web interface and don't see the forwarding message there either.

I also tried selecting the `Sent Items` folder manually in the settings, no difference.

Here's a slightly trimmed `MOZ_LOG="IMAP:5,timestamp"` output https://gist.github.com/igrekster/f694698e4033637f2dd5d6202d99341d

Thanks!

I quite often get this message, though it tends not to be a problem later "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox"

One of the solutions seems to be Compact a File. How do I do this?

Hello,

My Thunderbird 128.12.0esr (64-bit) was working fine. It no longer displays any messages except the latest ones. They are filtered, they disappear into their folders, I can only see them directly on the email server. I also have version 140.3.0esr (64-bit), but it asks me to create my accounts from scratch. (Mozilla Thunderbird Flatpak en-USthunderbird-flatpak - 1.0 release notes).

Thanks for your help!

Thunderbird 140.4.0 / Win11Home 24H2

For many years now I have had several email accounts 'share' Thunderbird's Global Inbox (Local Folders) and this has worked fine (by the way I'm using POP throughout).

For a long time I have also had a separate email account (call this account A) using its own Inbox. Again, all has been working fine.

Very recently I created a new account (Account B) and directed this to use Account A's Thunderbird inbox (via Account B's Server Settings, Advanced...) and selected the "Include this server when getting new mail" option. All looked fine at that stage (I did not think to go back and check Account A's Server Settings, Advanced...). Under Account B's Copies and Folders I also directed Account B to use Account A's folders.

As I expected, Account B did not have any of its own folders created.

On selecting Account A in the folder pane and checking for emails (via the Get messages icon at the top of the folder pane), only Account B was checked (as evidenced by the status bar messages scrolling through at the bottom of the window). This was most perplexing - had I somehow lost a whole bunch of messages that I knew should be sitting in the inbox at the mail server?

However, I soon found the culprit. Account A's Server Settings, Advanced.... were completely greyed out (and so effectively disabled) - see image attached.

So setting up a 2nd email account to download to 1st email account's inbox disables downloading of 1st email account's inbox messages. No warning of this is given - it just happens behind the scenes.

Is this all a conscious design decision (and, if so, why?)? Or is it simply a bug? Is there a solution / workaround?

Regards, Bazzaman

Just to be clear, selecting or not selecting "Include this server when getting new mail" option has no impact on this one way or the other - it is the attempted sharing of the inbox that gives rise to the issue.

I've been using Thunderbird for over 20 years and I run it on two PC (to have a copy at home and in the office) Running 144.0.1 (32 bit) on Windows 10 and same but 64 bit on the other. The problem is with the 32 bit PC although I don't think this has anything to do with the problem.

Came back to my PC today and my inbox emails are not opening. About 88,000 emails in the inbox can't be accesses but the list of the email info are showing. Click on any one and it's blank.

I have no idea why this has happened, my only ideas are they could be connected with one of the following: 1. A windows restart and update 2. Kaspersky internet security deleting a trojan virus from an email in the inbox and deleting the whole inbox file instead - I have already asked Kaspersky support and they said it would not delete the whole file but I'm not so sure. 3. It might have lost the email when doing a 'compact folder' but I think this is unlikely.

When I closed and restarted Thunderbird any new email coming into the inbox worked perfectly but still the 88,000 previous ones were not visible/readable.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm completely stuck It's strange I only had this problem on the 32 bit version of Thunderbird? Thanks, Brian
