Hello. I have been using Firefox and Thunderbird for many years with no problem until last week. I logged onto Google so I could leave a Google review for a friend's restaurant and when I was finished, when I went to go to my Thunderbird account to send an email, suddenly a new box opens and will not allow me to access my Thunderbird account without first singing into Google?!? I do not want to ever have to sign onto Google and this is all new. I want to get Google off my Thunderbird. I can access my email only from Google. No thank you. I hope someone has some idea on what I should do. Thank you, Philip

I also redownloaded Thunderbird to no avail.

have used the same address as by another email provider by mistake so must cancel thunderbird

    to enter our email which  has caused problems. Surely you should not have accepted our address in the first 
    place. I have not been able to find a way to cancel it on line.

This is an issue that has cropped up many times in years past. Thunderbird really needs to fix it, rather than provide hacks. But for now, I'm using Windoze 11, Tbird 115.12.2 (32-bit) and it's up to date. I am not only using Microsoft native security software, i.e. no Norton antivirus and the like. I am not highly computer literate, but I have used Thunderbird for decades.

I have used thunderbird for many years, and all without problems. But two days ago the IMAP emails waiting in my inbox (which I can see if I log on via the web) stopped downloading to thunderbird. It also stopped sending my emails. I have two separate addresses on two separate domains (although they are both on the same hosting service). the bottom line information says "connected to imap.one.com" - which is the host imap server. I have two different emails using the two domains on another computer, and thunderbird is working fine on that one. I have no idea where to begin - the hosting support desk at one.com have not been particularly helpful - and given that the other computer connecting OK and receiving and sending emails, it's probably not their end that is the problem. Has anyone any ideas?

Email profile vanished from Thunderbird

When I opened my T-Bird email this morning the only folder it had was "Local Folders" - it no longer had my webmail accounts. I spent 3 hours trying to fix the situation by reviewing many internet help sites but nothing has worked - or the directions (for manually rebuilding a profile for example) were way too complex for me). I have to believe this is something fairly simple.

I use Outlook from Microsoft 365. Last year I had to buy a service from Owl to work with Microsoft's system (they forced everyone to use Exchange I think). I'm still getting Outlook email and can access it through a web browser.

My address book shows all of my contacts. Also, I can find my profile in File Explorer and see all of my inbox, sent, and other folders so I think my profile is in tact - it's just not being recognized by Thunderbird.

Does anyone know how I can get my profile back?

Hello.

I have a problem with Thunderbird in the latest version; it doesn't open some PDF files that are in attachments. The file is not empty, it has the correct size, but when opened through the preview in Thunderbird, it is empty. However, after saving and opening it with Acrobat Reader, there is a message that the file is corrupted or poorly decoded.

The problem started occurring a few days ago.

I'm trying to send a pdf file ( generated by my bank ) to a third party for them to complete their part. When I click submit, thunderbird opens up instead of my default email app- Microsoft Office- outlook. I've tried various searches and I have deleted the pdf option in 'tools/files but thunderbird still opens. I read something about TWINUI that I just don't understand... I'm 73 Can anyone help?

Often I need to see the history of a conversation, and for that I need to have emails listed chronologically.

I would expect that clicking on the date header (which tooltip "Sort by date") would do that, but it's not the case).

For example: https://imgur.com/hhCd9zF.png (also attached).

In the screenshot, from top to bottom, you can see emails sent in July 2023, then August 2023, then July 2023 again, then more August 2023. The order is clearly messed up.

I've had this issue for a very long time and it's very hampering.

With all of my .comcast email accounts , when I attempt to send an email I get an "An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: resomta-c2p-539727.sys.comcast.net resomta-c2p-539727.sys.comcast.net Excessive failed authentication, ESMTP server temporarily not available." Many attempts to correct with comcast. They told me to click network, choose mode of connection in the connection services list, click details, select TCP/IP and renew DHCP lease. That is beyond my abilities, even though I attempted to follow directions thru Thunderbird, I get nowhere! Help!

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why, when I try to copy email folders from Local to Gmail using Thunderbird, only the first 1-2 subfolders are copying over. (I tried to upload a screen shot to illustrate, but keep getting an error message.)

My end goal is to have all email files residing in Gmail, NOT Local, so they're automatically saved and accessible via Gmail if ever needed (though I use & love Thunderbird for everyday viewing/responding/organizing!) I have a separate biz email that was set up this way at the start -- but for some reason my personal email files all ended up in Local and I can't figure out how to get everything 100% duplicated in Gmail so I can confidently delete the Local folders. Praying I won't have to do this manually for every subfolder!!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
