I came across this article https://brave.com/popular-browsers-first-run/ which says the following
> A granular description of the device was also included in this payload: an Apple Model ID (if any), details about the CPU (e.g. cores, extensions, family, L3 and L2 cache, model number, speed, vendor), graphics card and display settings (e.g. name of graphics card, full on-disk address to drivers, driver dates, vendor, version, whether or not the GPU is active, amount of on-board memory, current state of D2D and DWrite, a granular set of feature flags, connected displays (how many, resolutions, refresh rates), hard drives (e.g. model names, type), operating system (e.g. name, date of install, locale, version, granular windows build number), security software (e.g. names of anti-spyware, antivirus, and firewalls in use), and more. > > One of the more interesting observations about this Telemetry payload is the presence of a key called environment.settings.telemetryEnabled, which was set to false. Presumably this would mean no such telemetry calls would be made, which clearly was not the case.
And was wondering if Firefox can shed more light on why it seems that disabling telemetry apparently does not stop the pingsender process?

Hi,
I use firefox, with synced settings, at both home and my place of work. I try to manage cookies so my Spotify always remains logged it when I open my bookmark. This works on my home computer, but doesn't seem to work on my office computer.
I've looked at the setting and to me they appear the same. I'm only slightly know what I'm doing so any help would be grately appriciated! One system is a Mac and one is a Windows - unsure if that would make any kind of difference.
Thanks, Andrew

Hi, after updating to Thunderbird 91.8.0 one of my GPG Keys is no longer shown and cannot be imported again. When trying to import I the error:
OpenPGP Alert Importing the keys failed.
This also happens when I use a completely new Thunderbird profile and also with 91.8.1 It's the same for multiple users on Linux and MacOS. All of which can fix this by downgrading to at least 91.7.0 The affected key can be found on: https://keys.openpgp.org/vks/v1/by-fingerprint/07B9BD485A78EAF7B9DBE96C4C423EBF340BD0C2 Interestingly the owner of the private key (which is not me) can still decrypt messages with it. Best regards

I put a favorite on my wife's FF (v99 on latest Windows 10 Pro). This https site should have asked to save the password - it did not. When I went to Settings > Privacy & Security then click on [Saved Logins] I get a SYNC page that tells me I have to have a SYNC account. There were no logins found, which is scary because she has 50 (or so) logins to various sites she goes to. Clicking the [Create New Login] and entering the data then clicking [Save] freezes (fuzzes out the page) and does nothing.
This Password problem with Firefox is getting frustrating enough to quit using the product. One of the primary functions of a browser is to save our passwords. I do not want to use SYNC and have no interest in using it. It is atrocious to lose my 200 (or so) passwords every month for the last three months and now my wife's 50 (or so) passwords. This FF password manager is out of control and SYNC is another technological abomination.
What in the world is wrong with Firefox. We've never had these problems for over 15 years until the end of last year and so far this year?

Hello, my boss working with Tunderbird he complained to me that the program save his email account (google email) password even he didn't want to and wanted to write any time when he start. I go to the menu of saved passwords ... I delete the password for the account and when I log in to Google again, although I say I don't want to save the password, the Thunderbird saves it automatically without asking me. This is obviously a problem with 91.8.1. I try to install to another PC but the problem is same.
Can you help me plase?

Hi,
I have a problem, which only seems to apply to Firefox. I am a developer for a site which uses LetsEncrypt certificate. When I access it via Firefox (and only Firefox), I get the error message as mentioned in the subject.
I tried to understand why this occurs. A quick Google just leads me to an issue with the Microsoft domain, and what I can understand was a Firefox bug.
Trying to figure out if it is a problem with Firefox, or a problem with the certificate. Any thoughts?

Mozilla clearly lost it with their unique identifier, anyways i got a question on this topic.
If i download Firefox here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release there will be a unique identifier, but if download it here https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ There won't be such an identifier.
So, which is the better option since i know little about mozilla.org not sure if it's secure. Also when i download from the first link, what will the unique identifier track exactly since i open my browser and paste the URL for download, i don't come to the downloadsite from any other site or search result, i directly go there, so what will happen with the identification in that case? I know i had a similar thread before, but question is still open.

Hi,
I have my Thunderbird 91.8.0 (64-bit) (Fedora 35) setup to use PGP aliases- This worked well quite some weeks. Since a short time (like one week or so) I do encounter a problem:
First when trying to use an alias, thunderbird told me there was no key for encrytion found. So I checked my settings and the profile directory for the .json file containing the alias rules. It was there as expected. Trying to fix the problem I did copy the file, rename it an change the mail.openpgp.alias_rules_file value to the new name. Now it would find the file again but tell me the corresponding public PGP key is missing.
I checked using the Thunderbird integrated OpenPGP Key Manager and indeed the public key for the alias was missing. So I did try to import this key again after downloading and saving it (from https://keys.openpgp.org/) but this always throws an error which doesn't tell a reason (see picture).
Btw: I also checked the pubring.gpg file with grep and it seems like the desired key is in there (I'm not very experienced in using grep but the output was somethig like "found occurence in binary file" for: grep XXXX (name of the owner of the key) ~/.thunderbird/NNNNxrez.default-release/pubring.gpg)
Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? Maybe there is just a format problem when trying to import from https://keys.openpgp.org/ https://keys.openpgp.org/] ? Cause I did test it with another key from there with the same result...
Would appreciate any help or tip what to try!
Cheers!
