I have two windows of Firefox 94 for Linux next to each other, each with its own user profile. It would be very handy if I could drag and drop tabs and items in the bookmarks toolbar from one profile into the other. Apparently this does not work out for me. Am I missing some tip/trick?

It is possible to transfer tabs by drag and drop when both windows belong to the same user. Handy. Obviously the two windows share the same bookmarks toolbar, so the point of transferring makes no sense for the bookmark toolbar.

If that cross-profile transfer is not possible, it is definitely a feature request. This would help greatly in merging piecemeal the bookmarks of two users. Say, to separate private and work bookmarks from time to time.

Hi, I have an issue with making the separators in the bookmark toolbar drop-downs visible. I am running Firefox 95 with the Quantum - dark Blue theme installed. I am running Linix Mint Uma.

The dropdown have separator - space - but no line showing that there is a separator. I have tried many ways to make the separators visible and with light-grey colouring in the userChrome.css file but nothing changes.

Anybody have any idea what can be done or where I might change the Quantum-DarkBlue coding to incorporate the visible separators?

I've removed the original Firefox from my PC after noticed, it appeared in Microsoft Store. I've pinned it's icon already to taskbar, and right-clicked on that, but there is no option for start up FF in private mode. Any settings for that available for users, maybe?

Please let me know if there is a way to disable it other than collapsing NAV Bar.

Please tell me how to make these pop-ups, described above, disappear from my screen. Most of my searches involve going from webpages to private files on my computer, and these pop-ups obscure text in these webpages. If I don't want to keep it doing that, I have to move my whole window down, which also causes me not to see important text.

This auto refresh is the most annoying, useless thing I ever seen. I leave the browser for 2 seconds, come right back and it reloads the page wiping out all info I had just entered. It's ridiculous.

And now, the "accessibility.blockautorefresh" is not even an option to disable in the "about:config" settings.

Please tell me there's another way to disable this garbage because I love Firefox and can't use any other browser as my default. But I am slowly starting to lose interest in it due to this stupid autorefresh.

While i was browsing through websites using Firefox, i opened a new tab and got the notification saying something like While you were browsing, Firefox was updated in the background. There there was a button at the bottom saying Restart Firefox. When i clicked on that button Firefox restarted automatically as expected. My question is that now i want to see the Update History of Firefox. So how can i check/see the Update history of Firefox.

I am using Ubuntu 18.01 and Firefox 95.0.1 (64bit)

Dec.26/2021:

Greetings,

So I would like to elaborate on my original query. When one searches for text on a web-page (ctl-f), all visible occurrences of that text (any case, any wildcard) will be highlited nicely. In the search bar at the bottom, you can click up-chevron, or down-chevron to have the page move-to and present each occurrence of that text nicely.

However, if you click a chevron, and that next occurrence of text is NOT presented (the web-page does not advance to wherever that text exists), then you know that occurrence of text is hidden, perhaps "in a frame" somewhere. Firefox does not highlite which frame. You would essentially need to click on everything that needs a click-to-open/expand, in the entire page, in oder for the Firefox search to then reveal that text.

That *severely* reduces the usefulness of Firefox's search a page for text. We are astonished that this issue has not been raised by anyone else (afaik).

How does one ask Firefox coders to take a look into this? Thanks again. Jason.

Greetings,

Often when Searching the contents of the current web page for text, some words are hidden or backgrounded, and not visible, as we cycle through the search counter.

How can we reveal those words on the page, that are hidden like ghosts? Thank you. All Replies (1) cor-el cor-el

Are you sure that these results aren't hidden because of search settings like "Match Case" or "whole Words" ?

If you use Quick Find then these settings are hidden and you need to open the Find bar via Ctrl+F.

If the results are in an iframe and aren't visible (i.e. you need to scroll this frame) then they might not be found.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Loving the picture-in-picture feature. I googled to see if there was a keyboard shortcut to pop out the video and saw that ctrl+shift+] or cmd+shift+] should do the trick, but on my mac (firefox 95.0.2) the ctrl version seems to do nothing while the cmd version goes to next tab, which is redundant with ctrl+tab. I'm wondering if the cmd+shift+] shortcut is being overriden accidentally, or if there's a different keyboard shortcut for this on mac? cheers

Dear Sir or Madam; I downloaded a login CSV file from the Firefox browser. The date columns format in the CSV login file is ‘1.64055E+12’. In EXCEL, 44556.79166 would translate to 2021/12/26 18:59:59. The translation of ‘1.64055E+12’ should not be the same exact date, but should be in the same date range, as the 44556.79166 number. I’m not a mathematician. Would you please show me how to convert the '1.64055E+12' value to an equivalent excel date/time number? I could then format the excel date number cells to an yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss format. These scientific number values are in the Firefox login file CSV downloads so I assume they were intended to be used in EXCEL spread sheet. These values converted to EXCEL date values would help me sort account password date change records by account name and change date. I could review sorted account records (and thus determine the current password for individual old accounts). Your solution would help me immensely and I appreciate your time.
