I seem to be encountering various problems since the update to 73, the main one is the profile folder, I dislike the default location so have previously just put my preferred location in appdata\roaming\mozila\profiles.ini but 73 regularly ignores this and puts a basic profile in the default location and alters profile.ini. Using the profile manager does not get any better results. I am also having problems with the home page, I have set a custom page but 73 often resets this to a blank page or sometimes the default home page. I have had to resort to a 'portable' version as 73 constantly resetting things was getting so annoying but the portable does not work well as a default browser.

Hi,

Using Firefox version 83.0 on MacBook Pro 2019 16 inch model. When I pause a video on any webpage, I hear a sudden loud "crack" sound from the speakers. It also happens when I unpause, jump backward or forward in the video. If I mute the sound of the video and try to pause/unpause, there is no problem.

I checked the same situation with other browsers. There are no problems with them.

I hope there is a solution to this.

Thanks.

When compiling a message in 91.2.1 and attaching a pdf doc I can not view the doc before sending the email. The error is that the file association must be changed in preferences. Under the preferences, the pdf is set to be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader. After sending the email I can however view the attachment from the sent folder. Please fix this, it is so annoying that you have to check the attachment from Explorer and can not view it in the email before sending

I have just set up thunderbird on ubuntu 20.04 to use my work exchange server (that also needs OAuth 2 and MFA). It set up ok but I have two problems.

a) After spending an hour or so downloading and synchronising it had downloaded all my mail folders correctly. But it doesn't seem to give me any new emails when they arrive. b) I quit thunderbird and restarted. It is now spending another hour downloading and synchronising although it has now got my new emails that arrived since I first installed it.

I don't know if it matters but in the xterm I started thunderbird from there are a lot of messages including "console.warn: Lightning: No unique email address for lookup!" and "console.warn: Lightning: Parsing failed for parts of the item (while this is considered to be a minor issue, we continue processing the item): " which appears repeatedly.

I am reading many articles online that show how to adjust margins and print labels, but then when I try to apply this to actual Firefox the options are not there.

Why were these removed? This is yet another reason i CANT use firefox anymore. Because the interface is degenerating so fast nothing is useful anymore. Now I can't even print a simple label without it extending outside of the margins. FF please work on fixing your software, but please stop removing useful options. thx

I am on macOS Mojave and since the last Firefox update, I have been experiencing problems when printing a PDF attachment in my email. When I open the attachment, it opens in html which is fine. Then when I click print, a new tab opens with the printer settings, etc. but Firefox also launches a new browser, not just a new tab in the same browser. I have tried to change the print settings, reset the print settings, etc. but it has not helped. I can print the same attachment in another browser, such as chrome or safari without any issues.

The attached image shows my browser in the background with the pdf and printer window open in one tab and then the newly launched browser in the foreground which is blank.

I wasn't able to continue the registration process after the purchase and have been charged for several months of the VPN without being able to use it as it was never assigned to an account. Can I please have a refund and stop the payments coming out of my PayPal account under "mote-of-dust@gmx.com"?

Hi there

Whenever I use the open/save dialog all the active "Finder extensions" spawn a child process even if they already have one running. I'm not sure this is a Firefox bug or a macos (api) bug. I have the Betterzip and Graphicconverter Extensions active. This seems to have started with version 92 and/or 93. In the beginning everything seems alright, but after a while the finder/system begins to beachball for 20-30 seconds. When I then try to quit firefox the whole system becomes unresponsive and I have to power-off with the switch.

This is with the latest macos 11.6 and FF 93.

Kind regards,

TB version 91.2.1 (64-bit)

I'm using TBSync to keep my TB address book synced with my Google contacts. This seems to put all of the synced values into a separate address book, identified by my gmail address. I previously used another synchronization tool that is no longer supported (gcontactsync), that also did the same thing, so I now have TWO address books associated with my Google contacts.

However, I also have a bunch of entries in my "Personal Address Book" and my "Collected Addresses", but when trying to compose an email (even though I have the "All Address Books" specified as the "Default Startup Directory") any addresses that exist only in the Google contacts address book are ignored - entering the email address manually into the To: of an email gives a notice that the address "is not in my address book".

First, why is TB unable to find these addresses, and second, is there any way to merge these various address books into a single address book (e.g. the PAB?) where I can de-dupe them? If the Google-synced address book needs to remain separate, I can live with that, but unsure if that is the case.

Thanks!

I used to save all my images to one folder, but it started getting big, and it was difficult to find what I needed, so I created a couple new directories inside that folder (one for cool space images, one for memes, etc.)

When I go to save an image, I have Firefox ask me where to save every time, because I use a few different folders for different things. On any other browser, the folder that would pop up by default is the last one you used. So if I saw a collection of cool space pictures, I should only have to navigate to the "space pictures" folder once.

Firefox refuses to do that. It keeps wanting to save everything in the parent directory. I'm sick of having to navigate to the right directory every single time. How do I make it choose the last folder I used as my default location?
