I have been using Thunderbird for years and am on 102.15.1, which works well. I want to skip the 115 updates and go directly to 128.2 esr. My email accounts are at hotmail.com and charter.net.

If I run the 128.2.0 esr file I downloaded from MajorGeeks, will it update the existing program or install a second version of Thunderbird?

Also, are there any known problems getting email from hotmail or charter/spectrum accounts that would make it a bad idea to do the upgrade?

I'm trying to copy the data from a PC running xubuntu 2022 onto one running Ubuntu 2024.

I'm following the instructions here (https://www.google.com/search?channel=fs&client=ubuntu-sn&q=moving+thunderbird+data+to+a+new+computer) and all seems to work up to and including "On your destination computer" step 7 (Close Thunderbird). Step 7 "From your Thunderbird profile folder in File Browser, go up two levels" - this sends me to "Common". Step 8 Right click inside the folder, then select Paste.

Here's the problem: we're not told what to click on, but I assume it's ".thunderbird", which only contains 11 items although apparently 348 were transferred. Clicking on empty space (I tried that in desperation) doesn't work. I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but I can't see what that might be. Any suggestions gratefully received. In the meantime, I will keep trying and if I somehow get it to work I'll let you folk know.

Firefox periodically says I am "forbidden" to enter my Kaiser website (KP.org). I know what Mozilla recommends as a fix, which is to clear data and cookies. But this creates more problems because I have to re-enter passwords and other settings. This is a problem Mozilla's website reports has been occurring for YEARS! Why can't Mozilla/Firefox fix this? Please tell me there is a better way to fix this problem.

Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me. Today I changed my Google password, and now I can't login via Thunderbird to get email.

On startup, I am prompted with the Google login screen, which asks for my email or phone. I click Next, and get the message

   400. That’s an error.

   The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) on MacOS Sonoma 14.5.

Greetings FF Community, New Samsung Galaxy S9 Ultra tablet running FF ver 127.02 on Android 14. Have no option to customize toolbar or even add the File Menu to the top of Firefox as other resources in Firefox indicate. Using a Finite bluetooth keyboard, ALT key does nothing, using bluetooth mouse right click on empty space in address bar - no context menu appears, enabled in mouse settings. Having just re-installed Thunderbird I receive the following error message when trying to set up my gmail account, which had been working fine before

400.

The password is correct as I can login from my browser and I have easily setup my other email accounts - not gmail. Also have re-started PC and Thunderbird.

Version: Firefox 129 Ubuntu/Debian I'm using the Proton theme in Firefox and would like to revert the tabs to their previous, non-floating style. I've tried using the [profile]/chrome/userChrome.css method and enabling toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets, but this hasn't worked. Is there another way to achieve this? Got a number of devices with Firefox installed, all of them Firefox Sync'ed. Most of them on rapid release version cycle and a couple of them on ESR.

When https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/website-translation it provided a clean way to browse entire pages automatically translated. Problem is that the translate option is not there.

I'm at work right now on ESR 115.15.0 / Windows 10 64-bit and no translate icon appears on the address bar when checking German or French or Japanese sites (for example). Comparing my own browser settings to another, non-ESR FF it seems that on ESR something is missing. There is only a reference "Firefox Translations" and a "Exceptions" button to it. Check the attached image.

Can't tell if this is a bug or a feature (ie ESR lacks Firefox translate).

I am on v130 of Firefox and on some websites it just freezes. I cannot tab across. Even if i refresh nothing. But when i use Chomer all working fine. Read some things on how to correct this but does not work. Any advise?

Today I installed a clean WIN10 version on my PC, expecting to just log into firefox afterwards and have all the data back within minutes, but I forgot my Firefox password... As I'm currently in another country I also couldn't just log in on any of my other devices to recover the password, so I decided to reset it via the E-Mail... well aparantly changing your password deletes the sync data?? I'm guessing there is no way to recover the data? So I got a relative of mine to start my backup notebook which has not been synched for a few months but some data should've still been there, at least I had thought so... password database there was empty... and instead of synching the firefox landing page from my notebook where all my pinned pages were, it copied the page from the new device and wiped that as well... Any way to revert the sync changes on the notebook?

I would like to remove menu items, which I never use:

• for simplicity
• to avoid accidental deletion (e.g. "delete folder", "delete message", "delete mail marked as junk in folder", etc.)

I get the server not found error on almost anything.

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. We can’t connect to the server at [literally almost any site] If you entered the right address, you can:

   Try again later
   Check your network connection
   Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)

The site usually loads after I wait like 2-3 mins before reloading the site, or I force reload it around 7 times, but I cannot find a way to make the issue go away. I have refreshed Firefox, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it fresh, I have opened Firefox in Troubleshooting mode and the issue persists. I am at the end of my wits. Someone please give me something else to try.
