When FF loaded for first time after update had message about being able to fill in PDF documents. Even said give it a try on a option block. Then it displayed a form with blanks to enter name etc. However I wasn't able to enter name or data in the fields they sent me for trying it out. I could do other things with PDF FF displayed, draw, add text box, but not enter data on the form they sent to try it out. Wish I had saved the PDF they sent to show the new feature.

Hi,

I am creating a thunderbird extension for cryptography. My JavaScript code contains libraries such as tweetnacl, crystals-kyber and crypto-browserify. I bundled my code using browserify in hopes of getting it working within thunderbird. My code is working when run within VScode using node.js.

I encounter the error that 'webcrypto' is undefined. I assume this means that thunderbird cannot support webcrypto, which I think crypto-browserify is reliant on.

Is there any way to get webcrypto and therefore crypto-browserify working within thunderbird? Or alternatively are there any alternative thunderbird-compatible libraries that can perform the same functions? This would need to include Key Derivation Functions for example.

Thanks

Today Thunderbird began to display e-mail in a very different way. E-mail is now being displayed in two (top and bottom) panes on the left. There had been only one before. The top pane seems to have very extensive "Header"(?) information I am able to scroll through about 80 lines. For example: RvqJAUcWLDsHMFDfnGYGOXezVFGgF6O_2gSu4AdcwNVA6VcB 4VkQZtPJ1zYpRwikamfQhCH6CDwYU0t1bb0x4aqv9emhalBlAaQFLyAgHRbf zUV1fp5RMcqRyIcq1MBHGHpvwJK.YkVhbdrXlG2wUxkpEqgh3gzSOXwsA0RO 6MPyV_KyWFe9ocTWNB2I_N0pAkYCdwjfs0tdbddWxtpMbmY6hWzuMTHcd3x1 EUKjlM1Up4tGcgfxDT660CHdKXrsBGqpuF9alts0MrVfZ1cNvRZZ.9fSmT.x 7khrAYljhB45I07htl2B4QkH1mycWHZ52sdZzDEDQVF4CdhqxkVITK1W2LeY dW_3L44wnfYsPI2KSXP9_NRzBPc21Yy.sl2byo_DFLS0etpJRxWPj2SEmNBt YR3KBKl_iLIVn0kb1D5Tu4kkmOubczeYmRqeKAbz91IcQce1R8JC8uoM4laY

The bottom pane has just the e-mail text.

When I print the e-mail all the Header Lines print followed by the text. I have PDFs displaying the problem but am not able to send PDF files. How do I convert them to images

Where is the setting to stop the display and printing of he "Header" information. I have no memory of doing anything that might have caused the new display

Hi,

TB 115.8.1 on OpenSUSE 15.5, rpm based install. KDE/Plasma.

Had to install MS EDGE, as unfortunately one urgently needed device's firmware based webserver works only very restricted with Firefox. Firefox is defined as default browser. And is used by every apps, except TB.

-> TB opens every link in MS Edge, now. Which is definitively NOT want I want :)

Found this link (German): https://www.torstenkelsch.de/blog/2022/internet/emailclients/den-webbrowser-in-thunderbird-aendern/ which descibes the as it should work way, setting file type based rules for "file type" 'http'. Or also this: https://support.mozilla.org/de/kb/hyperlinks-nachrichten-funktionieren-nicht

-> No entry exists for "http", so no settings possible.

network.protocol-handler.external-default was and is still set to TRUE

As "file type" is missing, searched and found this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1330147 which is from 2021:

-> Checked that in fact there's no entry for "http" in my profile's "handlers.json"

As the last mentioned article is pretty old, 3 years, and archived, my questions:

-> is the missing "http" file type a bug? If so, TB in general or specific to my OpenSUSE based version? If so, I report this for OpenSUSE (only) -> If not a bug: Is editing "handlers.json" still the only way to solve this? -> As there's no entry for http, and Firefox is used by all other apps: Why/how is TB calling Edge instead?

Thanks in advance, Michael
