Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help . I have had Monzilla Thunderbird App for some while , primarily used for email, and access to my email account with Microsoft and has always been a bit of a pain to say the least. That I fear is because it was never set up properly by myself in the first place.

However, at the moment I can't receive any email from my PC ......."bards@btconnect.com " unless I sign in via a webpage. However, access via my smartphone using supplied Outlook email app, no problem.

So I am hopeful that you guys can help me sort out my PC access once and for all.

The current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email and folders.

Brief history: i. Originally PC access to account via Monzilla working fine, (donations made at intervals to Monzilla). ii. Microsoft then changed security systems and servers and with current setup at the time I couldn't get access to email incoming or outgoing ( problem with Imap / PoP3 servers). iii. Fix provided by Monzilla with new account denoted as .... bards@btconnect.com (OWL) whatever OWL stands for I do not know, (annual subscription required). iv. Even with the use of this get around , I still had problems sending mail this I believe was a problem down to default passwords and old server settings. (confliction between default settings and original account settings and use of OWL ? ). v. As mentioned above the current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email. problem with server settings again. Don't know what's going on ? and I am thoroughly confused and would appreciate some help getting things back on track. I accidentally deleted an email account through Tools- Account Settings - Account Actions - Remove Account.

Is it possible to restore this account and its associated sub-folders.

I have installed Thunderbird on a separate PC and restored my latest backup, which unfortunately is 4 months old, meaning that I am missing 4 months worth of emails.

Might it be possible to link to files/folders containing my messages prior to the removal, perhaps by recreating the email account or might there be some other method in which I could achieve this.

Any thoughts you might have would be VERY welcome.

I've been a Thunderbird user for years. I have no idea what they changed recently, but it's incredibly, incredibly SLOW, almost to the point of unusability. Even something as simple as deleting emails.

I usually do these in chunks -- select multiples and delete. We're not talking about hundreds of emails at at time here, just maybe 5-15. Select them all, hit delete, and it should take just a couple of seconds to delete the messages. It did, in the past. But lately, it's taking so long that I could leave and make a sandwich, and when I come back, maybe it will be done. Maybe it will still be working, though, or maybe it will have locked up because it was taking so long.

It's pretty difficult to get work done at this rate.

Unsupported video pages.

Playback of videos on the invideo.io site is not supported. Also the Tiktok account page for uploading videos says Firefox is not supported. Both sites recommend Chrome… (read more)

Playback of videos on the invideo.io site is not supported. Also the Tiktok account page for uploading videos says Firefox is not supported. Both sites recommend Chrome or Edge instead. I'm using the latest version on my laptop. Firefox is my default browser so would like these sites to work.

I supply software that uses TB to send emails with an attachment (via MAPI - an invoice) I have a number of customers for whom this has stopped working. I tested all of these with the usual fixes. The app has full access to the folder containing the file. The app is set as administrator and is inside the firewall. I have set default mail app to TB. TB is set to check as default on startup. Yet windows keeps saying we need to define a default email client. One customer solved the problem by buying a new PC. I have another customer who has this problem on a new PC. There may be a common denominator in Microsoft Office which on loaded onto the PC's. If that is the problem then that is Microsoft denying access to TB? Has anyone had this problem and can suggest a fix I would be grateful.

I now have the problem that I am on a large payment page and switch back and forth between FF and another app (to copy payment-relevant data). Unfortunately, FF does a page refresh every time it is brought back to the foreground from the background. And all the data already entered is lost! This is a fairly well-known problem with FF on Android! Chromium manages this better and leaves the memory management to Android. Why can't FF do that? Why can't I switch off this feature? I can't edit any relevant websites with the FF. I have to use Chrome for that! Hooray!

Starting maybe 2 months ago, when making online purchases, I could not enter a credit card number into the box to make a payment. (Name, address, etc is okay.) The cursor would not "register," & the box would be greyed out. I'm running Windows 11 Pro, Firefox 129.0.2. It's not my antivirus, because I can go to Microsoft's browser (ugh), & make my purchases. Ideas? Thanks!

We have been working with our server, Blue Mountain, for weeks now trying to correct ever shifting email issues: can't send or receive emails on laptop, can receive on phones but not send, then can't receive but can send. Then can't do either. Currently I haven't gotten an email on my phone since August 2, the last item there is a box that says "Correct credentials needed. Enter credentials for arimor@gorge.net." My husband's last email is a Newsbreak -- from a week or so ago. So we can't send or receive from laptop or phones, but in our last contact with Blue Mountain they said it must be a Thunderbird problem. I fervently hope it is because then our problems might be solved. Can you help?
