I attempt to donate with paypal - the attempt (after paypal has accepted the amount) demands my name, address and email etc. It is NOT the info requested by paypal. I do not wish to share that info with others I don't know. If you want a donation, just accept the info you get with the paypal response your site automatically gets.

Later version refuses to connect to my modem, and goes into security web mode. This modem uses HTTP/HTTPS for access, i.e., connects directly it's IP address, then the user enters a username and password. At that point, the the modem switches to HTTPS for control.
With this recent update, there is NO WAY to access the modem for any work, or upgrade the HTTPS certificate on the modem. This is a BUG.
What should happen is that if the web site will accept a HTTP connection, Firefox should NOT refuse connection or test for security issues UNTIL the user or the device switches to HTTPS.
As an aside, I've used Firefox on this Zywall modem for years until recently.

I trust this message finds you well. I am currently using Mozilla Firefox as my preferred web browser and I'm interested in ensuring that I have the latest version installed for optimal performance and security.
Could you provide a step-by-step guide on how to update Mozilla Firefox to the latest version? I'm curious about the frequency of updates and whether the process varies for different operating systems I'm using windows.
Additionally, I'd like to understand if there are any precautions I should take before initiating the update, such as saving bookmarks or ensuring compatibility with installed extensions.
Furthermore, are there any notable features or improvements in the latest version that I should be aware of? I want to make the most of the browser's capabilities and stay informed about any enhancements.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. I appreciate your expertise in guiding me through the Firefox update process.
Best regards,

I didn't know if this needed to be in Privacy and Security Settings or Cookies, so please feel free to move this to wherever it fits best. Here is my problem. I have saved logins on a lot of sites that all work perfectly. There are several websites that I have multiple accounts that all have their login credentials saved. My problem is that there is one specific website that until recently was operating just fine, but in the last week has started a nuisance issue. When I log into the website I select the login profile I need and everything starts off just fine. About 5 minutes later, whatever I am working on gets hijacked by a dropdown appearing in the upper corner of the screen that lists the six logins that I have for that website. If I continue to try typing, nothing happens (as in, the dropdown list stays there and whatever form I was typing on no longer has any data being entered). If I press ESC, the dropdown list goes away but it also closes down the form I was using. If I use the mouse and click anywhere on the screen, then the dropdown list goes away and I can continue using the form I have open. About 5 minutes later, or if I open up a new form, the dropdown list comes back and I have to do this all over again. I have talked to IT of the website and they stated that they have never seen this issue before. Other users that also use Firefox have never mentioned this to them before. Is there a setting that I need to change? Do I need to clear the cookies for this website? Do I need to just delete all of the saved login information and then re-save it? Thank you for your help.

After restarting my computer last week, I suddenly couldn't reach ANY websites on my computer. I tried changing security settings. I tried deleting Firefox and reinstalling it. Still, to no avail.
I don't have any problem reaching websites via Firefox on my laptop or my mobile devices. I also have no issues with using Google Chrome or Bing.
For some reason, though, I'm suddenly having the same connectivity issue using Zoom, citing Firewall and Proxy issues (I'm a single, home user). I tried turning my security program off, and that didn't help. I also did a scan using the security software and it could find no malware.
I have tried restarting the computer, and powering off and restarting the router. No help.
I'm not sure why I'm suddenly getting this issue with my desktop. I have Dell ProSupport, and while they're trying, they haven't been able to nail anything down.
Any ideas why this would suddenly happen, and only to Firefox? (and, for some reason, the Zoom connectivity?)

Hi, I am using Firefox vsn 120 for Linux Mint. I believe that I have the privacy and security set with the default settings.
However, Firefox seems to forget the information stored by websites, so that can't simply login.
Each. And. Every. Time. I have to go through the process of re-introducing myself to the security of the website provider who insists on sending me emails, SMS messages, etc. with codes to confirm who I am.
This applies, every time I use a site that requires a login (bank, BBC, Fidelity, eBay, Facebook....).
Once I have been approved on a site, then my login seems to work for a few days, up to a week and then off we go again with a new set of security codes. My settings do not delete cookies, and firefox is never closed, except if the PC needs a reboot, which is rare.
I would appreciate any help in settings that would allow me to use Firefox normally without having to enter security codes. Cheers, Mark

Why is Firefox suddenly not remembering any of my logins or passwords? When I go into Preferences > Security, the box to "remember logins and passwords for websites" is checked. When I click on saved passwords they all are there. The do you want to save box is there if I have changed a login, or added a new web site. I am not in private browsing mode. The problem seems to happen every time I install the latest Firefox update, or Windows 10 Pro updates. Some of my apps want to know if I am using a new device.

12-3-23 Thunderbird is asking for a second email password even though "Use primary password" is checked. This is on my Dell desktop computer running Windows 7 Professional which is the only device I use for email.
It has affected my ability to receive and send emails.
I have been using Thunderbird for years. Around the time (a few months ago) that I started getting pages of spam, I started getting the following error:
"Login to server pop3.hughes.net with username janetc failed."
It will not accept my primary password and I see no place to find what Thunderbird is looking for in terms of another password.
Initially, when trying to block the spam, I used the process in my hughes.net webmail to block several pages of spam. However, this only tripled the amounts of spam I received. Along with troubleshooting this issue, I started marking emails as "junk" in Thunderbird. This has markedly reduced the spam.
I have tried closing Thunderbird and re-opening. Didn't help the failures.
At one point recently, I could neither receive or send emails. After my son took a look on Teamviewer, he changed some settings in my accounts to NOT automatically download emails from accounts that no longer have service. [My son is an IT professional working for UC Davis email but he doesn't use Mozilla.] After he did that, I was able to receive emails but not send.
I have tried changing some password options in Account and Server Settings.
In Accounts settings I notice under SMTP - Edit, there are choices under authentication method including "No authentication" and "Normal password". Changing from Normal password to No authentication did not help.
In Server settings, under Security Settings, there is no choice of "No authentication"
This seems to me to be a bug. I didn't make any changes in my account settings prior to this error nor prior to the arrival of all the spam.
But what did happen, which may have contributed or caused these issues is that I lost my Samsung cell phone in June of this year and did not recover it. It was password protected but I understand that it can still be accessed. I did not use that phone for email but my email address was probably given in it.
After writing all of this, I looked again in settings and found that, at the bottom of the menu list, is a second place for Outgoing Server (SMTP) settings. There I found it set to my old email address - janetc@2xtreme.net. So I changed that to hughes.net (default). I'm really confused as to why there are two places to set SMTP setting. And they can be different???? Anyway, the change did not help. I still cannot SEND.
This is the error message I get when attempting to send: "Sending of message failed. Am error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication is required to use this service. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." IT IS CORRECT!
ALSO, I can no longer find the place to change my primary password... Nevermind, I found it. I didn't realize there are two different "Settings" Menus. One is in the "pancake" in upper right corner and seems to apply to all accounts. The other is in the individual account settings. This is really confusing.
Enjoy and thank you!
is there a way to prevent TB from autosaving passwords? i prefer to input my passwords when logging in/on and not have them saved. thank ou
