When people change their email address, Thunderbird still remembers the old one, and offers it in the type ahead buffer. How can I delete these stale addresses, to prevent me accidentally sending to the old one?

I've read the original query from romanroad (4/23/24) and the replies, which related to Gmail. I have the same problem but with a slightly different set-up, which those replies don't cover. My query relates to Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) using IMAP to link with Outlook emails. re [1] When I Right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe..., I can uncheck the Sent folder BUT there is no Sent Mail folder. (Folders are Archive, Deleted (with subfolder POP), Drafts, INBOX, Junk, Notes, Outbox and Sent [as well as 3 personal folders].) Both Outbox and Sent were checked. If I uncheck the Sent box, leaving Outbox checked, the Sent folder empties completely; if I then check it again, it refills all the sent messages from years back (presumably from Outlook because of IMAP.) re [2] In Account Settings I had unchecked the "Place a copy in:" option - but am still getting duplicates. I do want a copy of what I have sent - just not two of everything.

Hi. I opened up thunderbird and I've got no messages in my Inbox. My other folders have stored and other messages. I can't see any of my inbox in the trash, junk etc. Don't know where they have disappeared to. I just sent a test message to my email and it appears to be working. I'm just missing my inbox saved messages. Any help appreciated.

Internet is working, emails are being received but the button to send an email has disappeared therefore can not send or reply to any emails. Can you help please?

When I transferred Thunderbird from my old computer to my new computer, my messages transferred but my email addresses did not. What do I need to do to transfer my email addresses.

Have been using Thunderbird happily for quite some today, then two days ago got this error message: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Long time user, but suddenly I cannot send email on Thunderbird. I receive message: "ELNK003. Error code 308. Verify email address in Account Settings". bold textMy server is dodo.com.au. I can read emails from web mail but they won't download to Thunderbird. I can send from Thunderbird but not receive.

This folder looks like a "duplicate" as I have read here, but when I delete emails from this folder, they get deleted from the inbox. So I'd just prefer for "All Mail" not to appear in Thunderbird. But I don't see how to make that happen.... Never had so much trouble trying to understand the bizarre behaviors of Thunderbird.

Cannot send emails in Thunderbird application, instead getting error messages. After asking about creating a security exception, which we don't want, the following error message appears:

Sending of the message failed. Peer's Certificate issuer is not recognised. The configuration related to [server name] must be corrected.

No indication on how this can be corrected. Don't understand why it has suddenly become a error, when Thunderbird was previously working fine.

Although I have message folders for Inbox, Drafts,Sent, Archive and Trash, I do not have one for Spam/Junk. Please advise how I can install this as I believe I have a number of Spam emails which I cannot locate.

All of a sudden I cannot open attached .jpg files and pictures that are being sent to me. Not sure how to readjust whatever happened to once again be able to do this. Could you please explain what happened and how to undue it so I once again can open sent attachments. Thank you

Hi ! so i need some help ... i cant find a way to set up a Hotmail account on Thunderbird a have an error message "authenticated but not connected..." i tried ipv6 disabled .. nothing .. deleted password and account and tried again same thing ... it doesn't show the pop window that says ( would you like to let Thunderbird access your email " it just goes to create the inbox file and get the error message authenticated but not connected ... sorry for the incorrect grammar but i am over my head the last 3 hours .. i need help ...

Hi my Thunderbird email says it was at 95% full so I tried to set it to automatically delete emails older than a certain date, or a certain amount. I tried both options under account settings both delete all emails over 50,000 and tried delete emails older then 1000 days. Thunderbird is still loading emails well past both the number and the amount of days ago. In addition before it said I had roughly a little over 100k emails, and now it says downloading message header 1 of 431,000 at the bottom. The only other thing I did was click an option that popped up saying it fixed most problems with emails not loading properly by fixing the folder or something like that. I cannot find the option again however anywhere. In addition now that it is loading over 400k emails, it has emails at the top of the date saying from today at all different times which are 100% old emails so I have no idea what is going on or how to fix. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as it is completely slowing down my computer and almost impossible to send an email while downloading. Thanks so much!
