I am running Version 128.10.1esr on Ubuntu Mate for RPI 5, do I need to change anything to update Thunderbird software channel, or I simply uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird will do, I don't need to backup.

Hi, I have Outlook 2024 and not able to Import all my files to Mozilla Thunderbird. I click on Import from Outlook, it churns then closes Thunderbird. Appears my calendar imported but do not see any of my Personal Folders. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Arnie

Are there instructions for setting up Thunderbird on a replacement computer? Older MacBook Pro to new MacBook Air. I guess that's "migrating Thunderbird to replacement computer" ? Thanks so much for pointing me in right direction.

My old PC crashed but I still have the old TB profile. When I copy that to the new PC the mail is restored but the calendar is blank. How can I import the old events?

Heads up for custom installs: running tbird and firefox on linux, I install both in my home directory for my own ease of updates and portability. I get releases from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/ in tarball formats which install in 30 seconds. I recently ran into a problem which I've not seen before. recent d/l of firefox-136.0.tar.xz for linux-x86_64. It crashed immediately with err 126. The ff.exe and ff.bin files were for ARM arch. This wasn't easy to locate and I think it was caught but anyone still headscratching may want to see if this is an issue - I had a good 136 on a laptop and overwrote bad install on desktop.

For a few days a banner persists on the lower left of the message window. It obscures content. ""Upgrade to Thunderbird Release"" I have checked twice to make sure there is no update available. Why does this annoying message persist after I run the update. I have rebooted the application multiple times. I do not want to click "Learn more" on the annoying banner promoting "Get monthly updates. with new features and improvements in the new Thunderbird Release" Is it malware? If the application is up to date why are you forcing me to "Learn more"? This is not a good user experience. My MacBook Air is up to date. Thunderbird release 128.11.1esr

I would like to be able to download thunderbird addons as part of a automated provisioning process using ansible. I am currently unable to download addons due to cloudflare bot protection. Is there an authorized/authenticated means available to achieve this?

I'm running a brand new PC with Windows 11. I've installed Thunderbird 137.0.1 (64-bit). I'm a seasoned user (previously on Windows 10). If I view an attachment it will display a PDF in a new mail tab like I am used to, however when I click the Print button my printer spits out a blank page. If I save the same PDF to Windows then open the file in another program (like Chrome) then it prints there without any problem.

Why is moZilla forcing me to use Google Play Store to download Firefox? I used to be able to go directly to mozilla and get it (and yes i'm talking also about the android version)

I tried switching over to the monthly release branch however none of my addons work.

Is there some major incompatibility introduced (aka WebExtensions)? I can not find any documentation anywhere as to what changed or why an extension would not work with 129+.

Also the release notes do not mention that 136 changes the Profile format, requiring a redownload of all messages from the server and therefore reindexing. This took several hours, only to find the addons don't work. Downgrading Thunderbird gives a profile error, and requires the `--allow-downgrade`switch to restore functionality. There should be a warning in the release notes regarding the one-way nature of the upgrade.

Few questions - I have made a number of attempts to set this up.

It did not automatically connect the first few times I tried. So I read the info on how to configure manually, but I could not locate the info within my protonmail account to do this. I made another attempt and now this message comes up:

"You are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site. Legitimate banks, stores, and other sites will not ask you to do this." (See image below.)

What do I do?? I am concerned about messing something up. It didn't give me an option to configure manually this time.

There has been an ongoing problem with the latest updated binary showing up on the main thunderbird.net for days after it has been released. This is a serious problem because users cannot access patches that keep them safe from security vulnerabilities. I've contacted the team several times and was told this was a replication issue with the site or the CDN. The issue still hasn't been fixed.

Today Feb 4th is yet another example. At the main Mozilla security advisory I see the release of TB 135 and TB ESR 218.7. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/

When I go to Thunderbird Releases site https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/ and the main page and click on downloads, I see the OLD 128.6.0

This is a persistent problem and it makes the users of Thunderbird less safe, please fix this.

I recently moved my TB to a new PC desktop, and TB is working fine. But I see that my local archive folder is gone from both the new and the old PC, as well as my NSTMP folder. Could someone help me locate them?

I upgraded my PC, having backed up everything on Carbonite. On installing Thunderbird I cannot get it to recgnise and use my original Thunderbird profile downloaded from Carbonite. Peter Millar
